Kick force is located off Miramar road. It's to the west of the new Land Rover/Jaguar dealership. The parking is shared with all the business in the plaza. We have been going here for the last 3 years. The instructors are very accommodating and understand that every kid or adult has their own learning styles. The instructors also memorize all the kids names which gives it more of a personal touch. The instructors get to know your family which helps build a strong bond between lessons learned there and our own parenting styles. The place has an overall great vibe of leadership and teaching. They have lots of class times throughout the week that could fit almost every families schedule. I've posted the most up to date schedule. The pricing is fair and comparative with other places. We started our son here in July of 2022 at five years old. It IS a martial arts school but it's also so much more than that. He really thrived in the Tigers (under 7) program and picked up pretty quickly on the martial arts part of it, thanks to the fantastic instructors. They all grew up training with Master Aguilar so, although young, they benefited from his consistent training and it shows in their incredible interpersonal skills, patience, maturity and knowledge of martial arts. This review is long overdue. Honestly i don't know where to start but i'll try. We've been wanting our son to do karate for over a year now but we've been too busy to look for a good place for him. He was very hyper and acted out a lot, to the point that we considered taking him to the doctor for ADHD. When I found Kickforce and read all the 5 star reviews I felt hopeful and thought it would do my son some good. I was wrong, it did a lot more than "some good." It's been almost a life changing experience not only for our son, but for us too. Since we signed him up in summer he's come such a long way that I feel overwhelmed when I think of how he used to act before. Since he started, he's become a completely different person. He always used to follow others around and would fall in with the wrong kids. Learning bad things instead of good, and acting out, looking for attention, and being hyper at all times. Now he's more polite, kinder, nicer, and more caring. He's not perfect and still has some kinks, but he's doing so much better than before. He's more positive and open minded, finding his voice, gaining confidence, and opening up. Kickforce helped him find himself and discover his strength and confidence. The staff here is utterly amazing. What can I say? They're all wonderful people and it shows. The way they treat the kids, from the littles in tiger class, to the adults in beginner or advanced class is honestly just flooring. They are all very polite and always acknowledging everyone, young or old with "yes sir" or "yes ma'am." They're funny, positive, nice, and always encouraging the students, big or small. Master Aguilar is a great teacher, he imparts words of wisdom and teaches in a way that exudes positivity. From his sense of humor to his patience he's a wonderful person all around. Mr. Stone and Mr. Lam are a comedic duo. When those two are together they make everyone laugh with their antics. Mr. Stone is a wonderful teacher and he seems to really love the kids, as the tigers seem to absolutely adore him. He is always smiling, laughing, and engaging the kids in a positive way, whether he's high fiving some or complimenting others. He always knows what to say to make them feel good about themselves. Honestly just a wonderful young man all around and i hope that my son can grow up to be like him some day. Mr. Lam is a good assistant to Mr. Stone and is the more shy and quieter of the two. You can always find him walking around with a big smile on his face. The beautiful Ms. Iwanski is also amazing. She's not only very funny but she's super sweet, professional, and always positive. She is always making sure all the students are working hard but also having fun. She's the absolute sweetest young lady i've ever come across and i just adore her. Apologies to the rest of the staff as i don't know them or haven't interacted with them, however i can say, that everyone there is wonderful. Honestly i can go on and on about how amazing they are but i'm sure a lot of other people know, otherwise they wouldn't be bringing their kids here. if you are looking for a place to bring your child and hoping you can watch them blossom into a future leader, then come here. I found out about Kickforce by word of mouth. My good friend and his kids have been students for years, and recommended the school to my sister for my nephew. My 5 yo nephew started his Kickforce journey last year and participates in the Tiger Program. A few weeks after he started, he was invited to join the Leadership Program. It's an extra fee to participate in the LP, but because my nephew thoroughly enjoyed doing the Tiger classes - they decided to invest and accepted the invite to join Leadership. I was invited quite often to watch my nephew as he learned the fundamentals in the Tigers class (a 6 and under class) and witnessed how he thrives in the Leadership Program (classes that are made up of students from all belt levels and all ages). As a visitor, I am impressed by the instructors, especially Mr. Stone and Mr. Waning. They are the instructors I've seen most often when I've watched my nephew in class. I admire their interaction with the Tigers because they are present and patient with the students. They are respectful, and find the time not only to teach the group as a whole, but they pay attention when a child is having a bad day and do their best to motivate the them. They coach the children and reinforce the life lessons (IE importance of self-esteem) that the school is founded on. Although I was just a guest, I found myself listening to the life lessons and I'll tell you what...they got me! I became a Kickforce student this past February and am proud to be a white belt. This is the first time I've taken martial arts and I appreciate the discipline and community at Kickforce. It's been over a month now, and I noticed that I am more present, motivated, and overall happier. It's probably the endorphins because the classes are a great workout! I thrive in group workout settings because of the accountability and the team environment. I take the Beginners class and the Teen/Adult class (sometimes all in the same day) and love it! I look forward to my KF days. This place is amazing. My 4-year-old was diagnosed with ADHD and was having a lot of trouble focusing and paying attention. This made it difficult to get him involved in activities and often times we didn't exactly feel welcome. Here, we felt welcome immediately. There are generally 3-4 instructors per class and they do a great job keeping the kids' attention. Also, after our son first started, he had difficulty focusing/listening/paying attention (which I expected) and they would put an instructor on him specifically to keep him motivated. One other thing also made a huge difference for me: the instructors seemed to WANT him there. I started getting frustrated with him at the beginning, but they kept telling me to give it some time, he'll get it. Around 3 months in, things really started to click. 6 months in, my son is flourishing. His listening/focus at home and school has dramatically improved. Just before starting karate, we were being told he should be medicated. But with the great strides he has made (which I attribute to Kickforce more than anything else), his teachers and occupational therapist are in agreement that this step is no longer needed at this point, which came as a great relief. Kickforce offers a free class to potential students and they get to break a board, which gets them really excited. Recently, the classes started getting a bit full, so they added additional classes. They have class every day of the week and at different times, so it's easy to work around other activities. My daughter is in the Tiny Tigers class and has absolutely progressed every week she's gone! Mr. Aguilar and Mr. Villasenor are both totally awesome instructors and really know how to interact with children. Coming from a Child Development professional, this means a lot! My 11yr old son has been attending Kickforce for a month now. Hands down, this is the only sport, activity he looks forward to every week. My son has ADHD, low self esteem, and social anxiety. My daughter has been here for a month now and although it is very early on in her black belt endeavor, we have seen so much improvement with her! She is confident, controlled, and remains respectful to herself and her peers. I'd like to acknowledge KickForce for reinforcing teachings that we implement at home. My daughter always says, "I want to be a Tae Kwon Do girl instructor" and always raises her hand when they ask for a "strong leader." Parents beware of Kickforce - I really am disappointed and realized how stupid I was thinking that the owners of Kickforce actually thought about their students and families. We have two children who were in Kickforce with a total monthly bill of $400. We also signed up our daughter to camp which was $300, totaling $700. My husband had to accept a job and could not continue. After we formally notified them of the situation, the following week they charged our credit card $400. I thought it was just late action by Kickforce. I called to request some reconciliation since the charges were for the next month. They not only did not return the $400, they kept the additional $300, stating it is in the contact that the camp is none refundable and we needed to give a 30 day notice to stop classes! Even though the classes require no additional preparation for our children. What a money making scam, please be aware that you will not get any money back for anything from Kickforce, even in an emergency. read more

We've been here 4 months now and can't get over how happy we are to drive the 30 minutes, we live in Chula Vista, to come here everyday. We literally come everyday because it's that good. Yesterday during my sons leadership class, his instructor was telling about how he was bullied when he was a kid, and that if anyone was having problems that they could always pull him aside and talk to him about it. On the way home my son told me how much he loved karate, and how much he loved his instructors. I asked him how it made him feel when his instructor told him about his experiences. I found this place via Groupon. What an amazing place, I had no idea! This is an ATA franchise studio. Mr Aguilar and Ms. Hallex make Martial Arts fun. They offer classes from ages 3 to adults. Every testing period you learn a new weapon. My child never loses interest or stops learning. He loves the Leadership classes where the the kids learn about self respect, belief in themselves and bully defense. The Legacy class is my favorite, he learns to actually teach and assist kids in The 3-6 year old classes. He has met so many wonderful people here. All the families are so friendly and welcoming. Mr. Torres, Mr. Kuboyama, and Mr. Tolentino have great enthusiasm, skill and are so encouraging to him. They know every child's name. There are lots of fun events and contests for the kids. I love and take their Kickboxing classes Tues/ Thurs at 9:30AM. The floors are padded and the bags are not too hard on the legs. My son also loves Hyper Pro Sports Friday evenings-tricking and extreme forms to high energy music! We started one year ago and now my daughter and I are started up last week. When I first enrolled my older son at KickForce, I had to fill out a form asking me what my concerns were and what I thought he needed to work on. At the time, my son had just turned 7 and had difficulty with focus, paying attention and following directions. I had teachers complain about him and I seriously considered having him tested for ADD. I felt KickForce was my last hope. When I first met Mr. Aguilar and Ms. Hallex, I thought they were nice, but I wasn't sure if these two young, attractive people could help my son. I came in with a Groupon and so I decided to try the classes for 45 days since I felt I had nothing to lose. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the rapid changes I saw in my son. Mr. Aguilar is a great instructor! I genuinely believe that his experience, dedication and enthusiasm transformed my son. In every single class he teaches his passion shines through. He's so humble and doesn't mind sharing his personal experiences with the children which I think helps them relate to him better. My son is also part of the Leadership program, which teaches the kids about being exemplary models in society. He learns about honesty, perseverance, discipline, etc. Last year I decided to enroll my 4 years old son and he's in the Tiger program for the kids under 7 years old. He had watched his brother for a year and was eager to participate as well. It's been a year and a half now and in addition to Mr. Aguilar, the classes are taught by Mr. and Ms. Kuboyama and Mr. Torres. Everyone, including Ms. Galdiano, is so nice and professional. During class, at least one instructor will come up and greet the parents. Everyone here knows my kids names and everyone genuinely cares about their progress. Enrolling my kids in KickForce is one of the best things I've done for them as a parent. I think every kid should learn self defense in case they ever need to use it. KickForce gives them so much more than that, however. The owners, Mr. Aguilar and Ms. Hallex, are so good with kids and the parents.
