The workouts are consistently challenging, energizing, and leave me feeling accomplished. Ramir is an incredible instructor--so motivating, positive, and genuinely inspiring. His playlists are always on point (hiphop, Latin, R&B and pop) and really help push me through the workout. The space itself is clean, modern, and has such a great vibe. If you want to be part of a positive and uplifting community, this is your place. I decided to try kickboxing on sort of a whim, late at night, after seeing an ad on Insta. I'd never done it before and it just seemed fun and like a great way to condition the body. Being that I hadn't stayed in great shape the last year, I was a little worried that it might be a shock to my system. Lol. Well, I decided to just give it a try and signed up for my first FREE class. Early the next day I received a text welcoming me, then a call from Alexa to share details I needed to know and ask me if I could make a free 30 min training session before class...yes!! What to expect...two additional calls from staff to ask about my goals and physical health in preparation for class. I think this is amazing because not only could they answer MY questions, but they really obtained a sense of how to help me through the class and help me meet my personal goals. I'm two weeks in and I can honestly say this is something I plan to stick with. The support for newbies to experienced boxers is incredible. All the instructors I've taken classes from are incredibly helpful and encouraging. I've taken classes from 5 different instructors and each one of the classes have been great. I'm taking a second training session soon to fine tune my technique. Can't say enough good things about the staff as well as the kickboxing community! Also, there are both men and women in the classes, and they offer a family style class for those who wish to include their kids. So glad I gave this a try! The workouts are fun but intense (no complaints here)! The staff and coaches are friendly, patient, and supportive. They cater to ALL levels and learning styles. I haven't had a bad experience or class at this point. This is by FAR is one of the WORST membership club-based gym experiences I have been a part of. It gives off toxic masculinity energy which is odd because they pride themselves on "Women Owned"! I signed up for the "6-week challenge" they were promoting on social media, and honestly, there was zero accountability/check-in that they "pride themselves on giving to clients". You had to go 3x a week for 6 weeks while promoting them on social media and other weird requirements in order to get a "full refund" after the 6 weeks. Honestly, the contract in bold should have just said RED FLAG! I truly gave it my all up until week 3 when heavy marijuana smoke was filling the building, this happened on MULTIPLE occasions. I ultimately ended up leaving one of the classes because it was SO BAD, it was like someone SMOKED IN THE BUILDING. Per city code in Walnut Creek, it's illegal to smoke outside, considering this happened on multiple occasions. They acknowledge they were aware of this issue but did nothing to correct or stop it from happening. Multiple members ended up complaining the same day I left. I personally tried to reach out to the owner of the business but was forced to only speak with ALEXA SEE, who is apparently the head coach/manager but she never identified herself as so. I left a message on Instagram for the owner Todd Guilliams and sent an email to the GENERAL EMAIL where of course I never heard back. I sent it on Tuesday 10/24 at 12:30. EXPECT NOTHING FROM THIS BUSINESS, AND THEIR SHITTY BUSINESS PRACTICES. HOW THEY TREAT THEIR MEMBERS IS A SHEER REFLECTION OF POOR MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP OF WHY THEIR MEMBERS ARE UNHAPPY. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I did. But they're just like every other gym. They're gonna try and draw you in with "great" offers but you need to read the fine print and ask a lot of questions. I thought I did, but still got taken. I even tried to let that roll off my shoulder because the classes, facility and trainers are great. The gym contracts and "loopholes"- not so much. I started their 6 week challenge, which was to lose 20 pounds in a month and a half. You put down something like $500. If you beat the challenge you get your money back, or it goes towards a membership. At least that's what I was led to believe. Well I came close to the goal of losing 20 pounds in 6 weeks and did all the extra social media promotion crap you needed to do. So I figured thats fine no big deal it'll go towards the membership. WRONG. I was devasted. The manager did put $250 towards a membership after I explained my confusion and frustration. That was something, but still not great. My personal trainer was even upset by the situation because she said there was a strength challenge I could have done rather than the weight loss challenge and she felt it should have been switched to that because she KNEW I would have won that. But the owner and manager did not tell me about this option and made it seem like the weight loss challenge was the only one available. The people here have become my second family. The instructors are all amazing. They know everyone by name, they are excellent at describing every move and the mechanics behind the various punches and kicks. You are FULLY able to go at your own pace, you have your own bag the whole class and everyone is fully focussed on their own bag, there is no competitiveness or reason to feel self conscious. I have been going for over a year now and enjoy the variety offered in every class and the different types of classes. It is easy to schedule classes and to cancel (within the cancellation window). Love love love Kickhouse! It got me out of my year's long workout rut (no other class motivated me enough to go) after having kids and now I try to go as often as my schedule will allow. read more

I had a poor experience at another kickboxing establishment so decided to give the free class a try at KickHouse. They texted me the info and what to expect. They also called a couple days ahead of time to make sure I was going to make it and see if I had any questions. Now for the actual class...Let me just say I am impressed! As a first time person here the experience was amazing! I walked in a bit early but Beth was super friendly and greeted me right away. She gave me the run down and took me to the back to practice the moves before class. The session was great! I love that they focus on both stances through the session with a touch of cardio. They clean between each session and provide you with wipes for your own bag. Loved the energy from the coaches. With that being said I ended up signing up for 3 months of unlimited classes and got free gloves. They weren't pushy with the sale at all. Highly recommend giving the free class a try. read more

Long Review Alert! I started with KickHouse Walnut Creek back in October 2022. I joined the 6-week challenge to jumpstart my workout slump I've had earlier that year. Since I've started with kickboxing, I see myself truly making the time to add the classes in my schedule. I look forward to each class and learn more from the various classes they offer. It is easy to want to come in to classes all the time because the staff at KickHouse WC are some of the most helpful, kindest and most fun people I have ever met! They sincerely care for your progress. They see what you are capable of and safely push you to your maximum. (*cough* Coach Todd with his foam stick, Coach Jackie constantly reminding us to squeeze the booty, Coach Alexa pushing us with her switch kicks, Coach AJ fine tuning our punches and stance, and Coach Ajanee leveling up my cardio! ) After a couple of months, I took a personal training session with Coach Todd and he taught me how to throw the punches correctly, making sure I rotate my shoulders and pivot my hips/feet and engage my abs. This session made my workouts even more meaningful because I am working my full body while throwing my punches. Definitely felt the difference after my class following the personal training session. Will be scheduling another one to work on my kicks! Lastly, can we talk about how squeaky clean KickHouse WC is!?!? Especially in this age of COVID, the cleanliness is very much appreciated. All the bags are sanitized after each class and all the weights and the floor are sanitized as needed, depending on the class. Trust me, you will sweat with these workouts and the fact that you'll never know that when you come in through their door is a testament of their cleaning procedures. Love this place. Never thought I would be into kickboxing but after doing a trial class, I decided to give it a try and it's been 3 months since I've been going there consistently. All the coaches are amazing!!! They have different classes with different intensity levels which is what I like about it. Also, highly recommend trying Kicking Beats class which is super fun, it's a combo of kick boxing and Zumba. I'm already seeing great results from all these classes. To those having a difficult time trying to cancel please refer to the California's Health Studio Services Contract Law which they are majorly not abiding by and violating multiple civil codes. Alexa the manager of the facility wrote me an email stating I need to pay a total of $279 (179 + 100 termination fee) and invited me to still use the rest of the month knowing I do not live there anymore. I had decided to try out kick house after seeing they had a discounted plan on active & fit and have been going for about 4 months now. The coaches are all really good and have their own special way of teaching (Coach Jackie and Robbie are my favorite) but all of them are friendly, encouraging, and informative. When signing up manager Alexa was really good at introducing me to kickboxing for the first time. She also helped me figure out the best plan that suited my time and budget. The classmates are all very genuine and supportive. The staff maintain the studio very well by cleaning all equipment and floors after every class. From consistently going I have definitely noticed results and feel a lot stronger overall. Each class builds up to a tough but fun workout. read more

I have so many great things to say about this gym. There hasn't been a 30/45/1.5 hour class I did not enjoy since I joined 8 months ago. The place is centrally located; so easy to get to if you're from WC/PH/ Concord; parking is so convenient and safe. The gym itself is so organized and clean. Most of all the trainers are AMAZING and really spend time with each member every class to make sure we are doing it right. You definitely get what you pay for. read more

I had a great time at this studio...until i wanted to cancel my membership. Here's my story: I signed up for a three month membership. They have the 30-day cancellation policy (one of those classic gym ploys to keep you longer for no functional reason), so before the end of my second month, I said please cancel my membership. They said, oh you can just pause your account for up to three months if you want more time to decide and come back. I liked that option, so I said please put a hold on my membership at the end of my feb cycle (I was going on vacation early march). I even double checked that the hold was scheduled before my last class of the month. A month passed and I was checking my bank account and saw that I was charged for the month that my membership should've been put on hold. I sent an email and called them to get this fixed and asked for my membership to be terminated so I don't have to worry about the membership anymore. That alone was frustrating and annoying (and might I add, not once did he acknowledge they made a mistake or apologized for it), but that was the least of it. The response I got was, "we can cancel your membership but you would need to pay for a month because of the 30-day policy".....I'm canceling well ahead of the end of the hold period but that doesn't matter, I still need to pay for that 30-day period, something the person didn't inform me of when she suggested I put the account on hold. Like every corporate studio, the owner proceeded to tell me to refer to the terms of the agreement. This studio pretends they're all human and nice and understanding, but when it comes down to it, they are just like every other corporate studio out there. They will use any skewed logic to keep your money, and then refer to the terms like that would explain their mistake. I might've returned to the studio if I didn't have such a horrible experience canceling the membership, but now, I don't even want to step back into the studio even though I have 30 more days of the membership. They can't pay me to go back. read more

So I decided one late night, eating ice cream on instagram, that I was sick of feeling out of shape and unhappy with my weight so I saw an add for KickHouse in Walnut Creek for a FREE 6 week challenge but there is a $500 deposit and some rules and guidelines you have to follow and a end goal you have to choose to be obtained by the 6weeks. You can pick lose 10% body fat or lose 20lbs by the end of 6 weeks. Once you reach your goal you do get your money back making unlimited classes for 6weeks FREE!!! If you don't make your goal or follow the rules you they keep your money so it definitely gives you a big incentive...so I decided to go for it and that I had nothing to lose but pounds!!! So I just went to my first class at Kickhouse in Walnut Creek yesterday and I was super nervous because I haven't worked out in years + and I have never done kick boxing before or anything remotely close, (well if you consider cat fighting in grade school as fighting then maybe haha just kidding) so this was completely new to me. But they told me pervious to the class that they would give me a 30min introduction to all the moves in a private lesson which honestly was super helpful and the instructors name was Katey, I think, she had a thick accent and was super friendly and nice. She really spent the time with me to make sure I felt more comfortable! It was very helpful and an awesome way to get me to feel more comfortable with trying something completely new to me! So I really appreciated the private lesson before class started. As class was about to start the instructor put me at a assigned bag and she told me if I needed to take a break at any point feel free to do so and to take my time and if I had any questions just ask. So class when actually really fun!!! The instructor would show up a combination of the moves she wanted us to do first and then set a timer for us to do the set non stop until the times up and after every combo she would come over to me and make sure I understood what to do and modified some for me to make sure I wasn't pushing my body to far and make sure I wasn't overwhelmed as well as make sure I understood the basics. She helped keep it simple and easy for me to understand as well and corrected if my form if I wasn't doing the move the right way and even checked my posture was correct which is super important because if any exercise or body movement/position is incorrect it can definitely give you a serious injury . The class have so fun fun and such a great work out for me. I was sweating so bad and I could feel my heart rate pounding in my neck so definitely got a great workout! I felt super energized at the end of class and so proud of myself for pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I seriously can't wait to go to another class! So much fun but yes of course today I'm a little sore, but that was to be expected and plus it's not too bad where I couldn't go back so that is awesome as well.
