Kicking with Katie was the absolute best program I could have placed my children in to teach them how to swim. We used Ms. Katie for swim lessons for our daughters from ages 3 to 6. They had no previous experience swimming, and by the end of one week, they were swimming like fish!!!!! She is so patient with the kids, and offers such a wonderful environment for the kids to learn swimming. Our kids ADORE her, and her ring pops are definitely a kid highlight. Even though our kids could swim after one week with her, we loved the program so much that we returned for a few years for refreshers going into summer, just to be safe. We are surrounded by water at grandparents' houses, and these lessons gave us such peace in our hearts. My husband and I have recommended Kicking with Katie to both of our nieces and friends!! Run don't walk for sign ups though because this lady is famous, and if you need a certain time after work, I highly recommend setting an alarm on your phone during the sign up period. Return Swimmers receive early access to signs ups. Katie is a truly amazing swimming teacher, and I know her foundation set up our kids for success on the Hoover Country Club Swim Team! But, if you don't want to do swim team later on, her lessons are still *exactly* what you need for swim safety and basic stroke work. I could not have been happier with this program and experience. Before Katie, my daughter had a rough experience with a very "tough love" swim teacher, so we've held off on trying lessons again until this summer. After hearing rave reviews about Kicking with Katie from anyone I asked for swim recommendations, we were lucky enough to set a calendar reminder and get a spot! And everything I heard about Katie is true. She is pure magic and takes swim and safety seriously, while also making it fun and effective for her students. She clearly spelled out all of her rules and methodologies before we started classes, so we fully knew what to expect. My daughter cried the first few days, but Katie took the time to understand why, made her feel heard, and continued to encourage her. I couldn't believe the little fish I picked up the 4th day! We had taken my child to another swim teacher last year, and unfortunately, he went from loving the water to being too terrified to jump in and swim to the wall. Katie is absolutely phenomenal. She has taught all four of my kids. (11, 9, 4yo twins). I am so incredibly grateful for her help with all of my children, especially my twins. They have level 3 autism, are non verbal, and have severe sensory issues. She has been so incredibly patient with them, molding to their needs and trying her absolute best to understand their individual needs and how to best help them. It has been a challenging road, and as a special needs parent it is so incredibly hard to find providers who you truly trust to help your children. Mrs. Katie is an incredible swim instructor! The first year my daughter went, I was blown away with how much she had grown by the end of the week!
