Beet and goat cheese salad add chicken
    Sophie B.

I've been here a few times in the past and thought it was tasty which is why I'm skewing towards 4stars . Can't remember what I got previously but this time I got Beet and goat cheese salad with chicken - simple, fresh and tasty. Didn't love the chicken, it was a little rubbery and was under seasoned. But there's a good amount of it and it's not unpalatable, just not super good. Thai chicken soup - tasty basic soup, nothing super interesting but again fresh and tasty. Raspberry bar - rather underwhelming didn't have a strong raspberry taste nor did the bar part have any good texture or flavor. Generally very mid experience this time but I know I've enjoyed their sandwiches in the past.

Conveniently situated right along the Minutemen Trail, Kickstand is a great option if you need some fuel before/after/during your bike ride (they have bike stands right outside). We came on the early side of a rainy Sunday morning and was pleased to find only a small line - though the place started filling up quickly as soon as we finished. My cousin and I split the smoked salmon breakfast bagel and the Deluxe egg sandwich. - The salmon bagel: 7.5/10. Everything bagel was better than expected and I loved the top and bottom coverage, as well as the additions of tomato and cucumber. My only gripe was not a lot of smoked salmon but overall, not bad. - Deluxe egg sandwich: 10/10. Absolute must-order!! The egg was a frittata with spinach, mushrooms, and onions, and had this silky, tender, almost pudding texture. Loved the brioche bread they used, which held everything together well, and the addition of the thin sausage patty. Next time, I'd get this with bacon. The other pastries looked great. They provide an assortment of sauces to add to your food but I didn't see those until too late. Service was super friendly, and our food came out fast.

Grossest, saddest, over $5 avocado toast I've ever encountered. This is probably half an avocado! Don't get me started on the 7-grain bread--it was cold and soggy-- and I love multigrain. Staff was friendly and chai was OK, but it sucks to open your order down the road and see this :/

I adore this place and the availability with outdoor seating! The baked goods are amazing and the service was quick!

Awesome cafe for a nice coffee break or a pit stop while biking. They have a wide variety of things : coffee, tea, sandwiches, other lunch foods, pastries, muffins, cookies. They also have vegan items in each category that are well indicated. They have plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor seating is well shaded from trees and parasols. Would definitely recommend to others!!!

This was my first time at Kickstand and I found it while running an errand in Arlington. Breakfast was yummy. We had breakfast sandwiches and shared a chocolate chunk scone.

Spacious cafe, chill vibe, and free wi-fi! But, average coffee and sub-par baked goods. Depends on what you value.

A bit overpriced relative to quality. Sandwich and coffee were good; pastry, not so much. A but slow but friendly staff.

I was interested in this program as it is geared toward two noble goals: reducing food waste; and addressing food insecurity. I downloaded the app and purchased a "surprise package" online that had a retail value of $13.00 and cost me $4.27. The gentleman behind the food counter knew immediately what I meant when I mentioned the program and gave me my surprise bag containing two baguettes from Iggy's as well as a one pound of fresh, gluten free gnocchi (I had indicated that I was gluten free in the app). All items were within their freshness dates and the gnocchi were excellent. The employee who assisted me was both extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the program. I really want to commend both the Spirited Gourmet for participating in Too Good to Go as well as the program itself. I live in Belmont and because of this experience will certainly frequent this store-I hope you will as well! Thank you, Spirited Gourmet!

I'll have to come back and try their deli counter, their grilled cheese sandwiches looked amazing.

The quiche was rich, custardy and denser than I expected, and the small salad helped balance the richness (wish it was a bit bigger), but I was full by the end. Got the pineapple passionfruit matcha bombe for a dessert - while I liked the fruity filling I didn't care much for how dominant the white chocolate flavor was, so that was a miss for me, especially given it was a couple bucks less than my lunch. We kicked off my daughter's 7:30 birthday breakfast here and it couldn't have been better. She picked the shakshuka that had perfectly runny poached eggs- it was hearty and satisfying. My scrambled egg+fontina grilled cheese hit the spot too. But the real magic was their insanely rich Valrhona hot chocolate that reminded me of my favorite cup from a spot in White Plains, NY. I mean....it was pure bliss. So were the decadent chocolate mousse cup my daughter has raved about the few times she's come here. Coming here was hands-down an unforgettable start to the day. Service is great and Tatte is the kind of place I'd come back to anytime I'm in town. This is an Israeli bakery-café that knows how to make every detail count.

It is always busy on Friday and Saturday nights but each time we have walked in we are lucky to find a table. It's an order at the counter type of place but you pay after you're meal. They bring you you're food and then you pay when you leave. I really like that they get their produce from local farms and that they have a rotating specials menu. We are always excited to see what's new on their menu. I really love their pizzas! They are so flavorful and they always create a new pizza special. This night they had mozzarella blue cheese pizza which was very tasty! And they had a corn ravioli which had squash and tons of veggies! When it's a busy night it does take a little longer than an ordinary restaurant in terms of wait time but it's so worth it once you get your food! It feels like a home cooked meal and it tastes like one too!

Yelp gives this place four stars…read more I give this place four stars. I give Northender's category five stars. Northender is just like 380 places all over the Boston Area. And I love them all. * * * Northender is an East Coast Sub Shop. Sub shops have pizza too. Pizza is good all over the country. Subs are NOT good all over the country. They are usually only good only in the Northeast. Sub shops in Texas are godawful. Sub shops in Michigan and Wisconsin are no great shakes. So when I go to Boston or Connecticut or Rhode Island or -Hallelujah - Philadelphia ... I go out of my way to get at least one real deal sub. One real deal sub and I am happy. If on two days, I can get two real deal subs, I am twice as happy. * * * Most East Coast sub shops are fine. There may be some place that has legendary three standard deviations above the mean subs. I have yet to find one. There is probably a tail end of terrible East Coast sub shops at the bottom end of the distribution. If I have eaten at one, I have repressed the memory. * * * The Northender is controversial. Some Yelpers hate it. Others love it. My local hosts love it. What I had is outstanding. So I am proudly in the pro-Northender camp. Because sub shops also do pizzas and Italian main dish entrees - there may or may not be issues with the other two thirds of the menu. But on subs - these folks are just fine and dandy. I had a meatball parmigiana sub. Those are always good. Even mediocre places in Texas with their cold cuts coming straight from Sysco can sometimes manage a decent meatball sub. * * * Northender lets you get hot grilled green peppers on your meatball sub. Texas has never heard of such a thing. Hot grilled green peppers on any kind of a parmigiana sub? Take plug. Insert into electric socket. All the lights come on. I was bright and shiny for the rest of the day. (And that rest of the day involved a long and miserable trip through Logan airport. I needed that sub as a bright spot on a day that was going to be dreariness up the snoot.) * * * Are the subs in Arlington better or worse than the subs in Lexington, or in Dedham, or in Marblehead or in Southie? I really couldn't tell you. But certain pleasures are like chocolate. They are good unless they are proven otherwise. * * * How are Northenders salads, or the lasagnas of the day or their house special pizza? I have no idea. But just keep those sub sandwiches coming. I am with ya, Northender.
