And, I could see why because their practices are really well organized and rigorous. At the same time, the kids were having a lot of fun. You could tell the kids were proud to be there. But, the primary reason I picked this club was the quality of the kids. I could tell the kids were brought up well by how well-mannered they were. So, I'm thinking they are going to have a really good influence on my child. For example, during the initial tryouts, his teammates actually greeted my son and made him feel welcome. And, later, when I kicked back an errant ball, the child thanked me which I didn't expect. The entire experience impressed me. This is in stark contrast to some other clubs. For example, at The Football Academy in Floram Park, the coach made the kids do pushups every time the ball went out of bounds. The kids ended up doing pushups the entire practice. This made no sense to me. First, on artificial turf, it's really hard to control the ball for kids at their age. Second, pushups doesn't help them get better at soccer.

This past weekend we had rain and ended up at Sports Galaxy all the way out in Hackettstown. For those that don't know, Hackettstown is way out in bear country...in the boonies. Sports Galaxy is a nice indoor turf facility with an 80'x100' field area that they can break down into different sizes, two batting cages and a party room. The owner and staff here were really great and gave the team some additional space and time on the turf after batting practice. I still don't know why a great facility like this is way out in Hackettstown, but I'm glad we got to use it. There are quite a few facilities like this that have sprung up around the state as soccer, softball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, etc have started to become year-round sports. Some of these facilities are too small and some are huge. Sports Galaxy falls in the middle. I hope these guys are successful out where they're located because the seemed like genuinely great people running the place.

woohoo is right! What is not to love?? We have a dog park, soccer fields galore, lacrosse,…read morefootball and baseball. plus one of the best playgrounds in the area? I'm very lucky to live close to this park. The playground is wonderful - broken into 2 sections - 1 for big kids one for small kids. When we go, we typically stay for at least 2 hours. I bring food to take a break in the picnic area (no food in the park please!!) and then my kids go right back at it. The dog park is great too - so far we have only met very nice dog owners. no aggressive dogs either. Great running area! Bathrooms are well maintained. Sometimes (not sure of the schedule) they even have a snackbar! Only downside is parking - they have plenty of it but you often have to walk far to either the park (if soccer games are going on) or an event in the park. The township holds many events here - which can make for an overcrowded playground experience.

I also really appreciate how much parking it has. It's well kept and a beautiful area. It is pretty hilly at certain points so I can't see it as a recommendation for like walking or running. But overall, I think it's a very nice area especially if you have kids. This is where I lost boarding events are held and a lot of community events as well.
