They say it takes a village to raise children and I feel extremely lucky to have Shelby U be a part of my village. They have become family to us! My son started coming here when he was 6 months old and is now in elementary school. He loves going back to the school age room during breaks to see his old teachers and friends. In fact, he ALWAYS begs me to attend extra days! My daughter is two and loves coming here. The teachers take great care of the kids. I drop my children off knowing that they are in wonderful care. The Owner, Kim and Director, April are very helpful, involved and always go above and beyond! The teachers are interactive and have great activities planned for the kids. The playground and gym have fun toys that the kids enjoy! My kids enjoy all the meals and snacks that are served. The whole facility is kept exceptionally clean. If you are looking for a daycare to take excellent care of your kids, I would suggest checking out Shelby University! :)

The teachers are all amazing, the activities/interaction are exactly what the kids want and need, the menus are perfect and it's being ran by the exact people you'd want running a business that has the children and their parents put first. Any negative reviews on this place just seem confusing to me. Makes me think that the people leaving them are the same ones who will never be able to be pleased regardless of any scenario. We're keeping our kids in this place as long as we can. I feel like it's the right place for them and feel that the negative reviews on this place should be overlooked. The teachers are so gentle with the children . Such a loving place . I will say children are treated good here , strict on staff so rules will not be broken at this center and I love this. It's a safe place for children here . I trust the staff with my child here and I have seen the postive impact the center has made on my daughter and myself, they really pure their soul into the children and staff. They do treat the kids well and I see staff that really love and adore the kids so that is important . They just need some changes and I'm sure over time they will bc again with new management it's changing slowly in an amazing way - I so love how they have changed the rooms and so good on the curriculum . Although, there were some advantages to Childtime, like an app that allowed you to get real time updates (like baby connect), we have found the staff and particularly the administration to be far superior at NT Kindercare. We enjoy the staff so much we actually use one of his teachers as a babysitter. Also, the administration does a great job at communicating with parent, whether it be staff changes, safety notices, and simple requests. My wife and I went all the local child care places in the area and NT Kindercare stand above all of them, in our humble opinion.

Run away from this place…read more Their teacher, in the Beech room, physically assaulted my 5 year old son by digging her nails into the inside of his wrist and yanking him to the floor forcefully. My son also shared that this teacher always digs her nails into him hard when she grabs him. I told administrators, the principal, and superintendent they wanted to cover it up. Black parents please beware before sending your child here. Other Black parents have told me that their children were called the "n" word and nothing was done by the staff or superintendent. This school is violent and the children are left screaming and yelling at eachother with no adult intervention. The staff is rude and quite unprofessional. There are suppose to be peace meetings, but there is no peace when there are 5,6,7,8 year olds in one classroom with one teacher and the 8 year olds are grabbing the 5 year olds to yell at them in the corner while teachers sit by and watch. This is not montessori. This is chaos. The 5 year olds are left crying while the teacher barely pays attention to rest of class because they are so overwhelmed. This is a violent place. My childs life will never be the same because of this place.

Actually, so far so Awesome…read more Ms. Shelby is their teacher and although she is younger she really runs that preschool room very efficiently and smoothly, and all the kids including mine love her. The overall facility is very clean and organized, with the children divided into appropriate age groups. The security system to get into the building makes me feel safe leaving my kids there. Beside a curriculum of learning, my twins have also experienced the tumble bus while there, weekly music classes, work on fine motor skill by playing games and climbing the rock wall that is in the gym- yes a Rock Wall, how cool is that for the kids. One of the best things is you get to keep up on what your child is doing throughout the day via emails you are sent, I know exactly what they are doing every time they switch activity/learning lesson. Only thing that bothers me is there is no snack time. My 3 yr. olds are there from 9-11:30am and there is no snack time. My kids are not big eaters when they wake up, but I know around 10pm they are hungry. I feel bad they cannot eat until I pick them up 11:30am. I wish I was able to provide a snack so that they could have a 10 minute break to refuel. Oh, and there is no "contract" at this place either, all you do is give 2 week notice should your situation change and you no longer want to attend.
