This was the perfect place for me to find fun and unique gifts for my niece and nephew. What a huge collection of toys, accessories, and miscellaneous items for kids of all ages! There's lots of room to peruse, and they have a little bit of everything: board games, puzzles, tea sets, science kits, backpacks, stuffed animals, even unicorn pogo sticks. The staff is friendly and won't rush you at all, giving you space unless you want any recommendations. They also do complimentary gift wrapping with an assortment of beautiful ribbons (although the red one apparently bleeds a little, so watch out), and you can get a customer card, one point per dollar, with rewards every 500 points.

The difference between every other toy store and Kidding Around is how well curated Kidding Around is. It feels like they understand what kids want better than kids do. In 15 years of buying presents for nieces and nephews and now my own children, I've never whiffed with something from Kidding Around. E.g., The Pablo The Pug doll is made by Jellycat. My son has a bunch of stuffed animal. There's something about the texture of Pablo that makes him play with him more than any of his other animal friends.

Big boys like toys too, and I couldn't resist picking up some of the tiny plastic smurf figures that I saw in the window as I walked by on my lunch time exploration. ($5 ea.) The clerk was very friendly and helpful, and there are a LOT of educational toys here too. Some of them have an ecological theme to them. Others are NYC centered, like the toy sanitation truck or the Staten Island ferry boat. (see picture) Just a nice alternative to the big box stores and a unique mix for all the little ones (or big ones) in your life.

Love this store - great selections in all price ranges with knowledgable and patient staff. The toys we gave out have been the favorites!!!

Growing up in a world where there used to be toy stores in abundance, including Toys R Us, this store is refreshing and important to have today.

It is well run, organized, plenty of options maybe too many but all options are solid! We,he been big fans of their delicious bagel options and açaí bowels. Endless amounts of if drinks, prepared fruits...honestly I can keep going. The folks running this large space have ever nothing but nice, no rushing and even a tiny rude vibe if it take a moment to ok. Friendly and good experience all around. One challenge we can was having a place to sit comfortably to eat and this place as plenty of seating on the second floor for you to take your own and enjoy all you've order. I highly commended for the solo and the family visitors. Def if you're up for ramen or udon try those too! Burgers and fresh made breakfast look quite good. Prices are far and portions are plenty! Support this place, you won't be disappointed.

Playing catch up here. So it was the first Saturday in May which to comic book geeks both far and…read morewide means "Free Comic Book Day" and oddly enough I was completely in the unaware about this comic store only a few hours earlier from my walking into the place. My learning about it was fortuitous as I had just left the famed Forbidden Planet and began talking to a nice family of fellow collectors about the packet of comic books that we had just received as a part of FCBD. We talked about where each of us were heading next and while I said Midtown Comics near Grand Central was my next stop they replied "Montasy Comics" was theirs. A quick Google search found the location and away I went. So the store is quite easy to get too but it might be something that you walk right past once you are in the vicinity since its not on the ground level and is instead upstairs. There is an elevator and stairs but I opted for the elevator. Once inside I immediately loved the layout of the place. There were numerous glass cases of collectible trading cards in the front where the staff usually is and while I am not one for those things they did seem to have an ample supply. Towards the end on opposing sides were racks and racks of new and recent comic books along with a myriad of collected editions and even scores of Funko Pops. If you collect the Pops, you're likely going to find a few that you like at Montasy Comics. The FCBD Stuff was being handed out by one of the staff in the rear of the shop and everything was already in bags to make this an easy free transaction. Sometimes, the free issues are all laid out for folks to pick and choose from but in this case it was not that way. I didn't go through anything and would save that reveal for a fun YouTube video but either way it felt like a decent amount of issues were in the bag and that is always nice to see. Generally with FCBD its nice to also try and make a purchase since while this event is free to customers the shops have to pay for all of the books. I was looking for a copy of "Sister Imperator" from Dark Horse Comics but they had no idea what I was talking about. It's an independent release about a Ghost band connected character but I digress. There was an upstairs but I didn't explore that and also they had a number of tables set up in the center of the store where they hold Magic and I guess Pokemon tournaments along with any other of the popular TCG (trading card games for the newbies). The visit was brief but overall a positive one. I will try to visit them again in the future if I am over there. I saw some complaints about high prices or lack of a refund on something that broke when the purchaser was putting it together and all I can say on that is when something becomes rare based on being limited or hard to get it will be more costly. As far as breakage during assembly, I've often found that it was due to improper practices by friends or even myself. A shop doesn't owe me restitution by my breaking something and that is how it goes. Happy Collecting my Friends

Very close to all the train routes. Shelves are stocked and neatly organized for the most part. This spot is supposedly smaller than other locations in the city. But that's okay, at least I didn't see anything like toys lying on the floor. No kids running around. Clean aisles + brightly lit area + decently spacious to walk around on your own. Surprised to see some Squishmallows peeking out in between other plushies. So, I was trying to reach for the ones from the top shelf. Staff from afar saw me struggling to reach but didn't offer any help + kept looking on and went back to chatting/joking with a coworker. This was around 9:30pm on a Sunday evening. I guess just a minor hiccup there, I will let it pass. Customers can find a limited yet decent selection of things like electronics, groceries, beauty and skincare/makeup, hygiene related products etc in each of their specific sections/aisles. The designs on greeting cards looked lovely. Some things were on sale like cat food - $10 for 12 cans. You just gotta stroll around to find out. It's convenient to have a Target in Midtown/next to the major train lines. Maybe I will stop by again, hopefully the service from employees will be better next time.
