The place isn't really set up for navigating around, and it just seemed super disorganized and tight. If you are a K-pop fan, this is the shop you need to go to for all of your mugs, stickers and cards. Since they do not have a website and I live out of town, I relied on Instagram and tagged photos to find exactly what I was looking for and sent my parents in to purchase what I wanted. I've stopped in a couple of times while I was in town and I can get lost in the store for hours because they have so many books and items to look at. When I was here, they were having a 50% off sale on a lot of k-pop albums! This is a great deal, but keep in mind that the original prices were more than usual to begin with. A lot of them ranged from $28-$40. As you enter the store, it looks like all they sell is kpop albums and merchandise... but they actually have books in Hangul too! My boyfriend likes to read Korean novels, so we spent a lot of time here! We price checked a couple of the books and it seems a lot of them are $2 less what you'd find on Amazon! Good deals! They've got the goods, and you might just find something that's been missing from your collection. The place is pretty small, but it's packed with potential Kpop treasures. It's also right next to a Korean skincare and makeup store, which is super convenient if you're into pampering your skin while jamming to your favorite tunes. Funny thing, there used to be no wall between the two stores, so you could just stroll from one to the other like you owned the place. Usually a little more pricy than KPOP NARA's selection or other retailers, but still at a good price point plus they carry a wider selection of items like Japan KPOP albums, magazines, official plushies/pickets/calendars and other official merchandise that KPOP NARA doesn't carry. Recently stopped by because I saw on their insta that they had the BBNEXTDO plushy collection at their store and was excited to grab some. I will say that some prices are on the higher end and some of the workers are a bit standoff-ish and could work on their customer service skills, but if you get pass that and come just for the items you'll have a great experience. read more

A perfect spot to find all the Kpop items. You will find all kinds of books, music, magazines and more. You will also find a TON of K-pop items and gifts including calendars, keychains, Posters, music albums, mugs, posters, notebooks, stickers and more. They have a decent selection of BT21 items as well. I was here last weekend and went TWICE because I needed Christmas gifts and didn't want to regret not having purchased enough items. Super adorable Korean bookstore in Koreatown Manhattan which is one of my favorite little stops when I'm wandering around the most exciting street in Manhattan (arguably) and need a change of pace. I could eat a lot of food and drink a lot of drink on this street, but this bookstore is a nice place to relax and chill out. I don't read Korean or Mandarin or anything like that but I really appreciate having a totally different culture right before my eyes - and that's what New York City is all about. Koryo Bookstore is a big shop in K-Town of Manhattan. This bookstore has been here forever and back in my day was filled with Fly to the Sky, Brown Eyes, Yoo Seung Jun and FinKL. Long gone are the days of my youth and now there is a ton of BTS merchandise for all you young KPop fans. It's overpriced but such if life when this music memorabilia is imported into the states. This shop is just completely filled with books in Hangul which is great when buying books for friend's parents or friends' kids! I ended up buying a board book on my latest trip to NYC for my friend's daughter. It was $13 and I swear it was the cheapest children's book I could find - eek! We had gone in hoping to find Obama's books in Koreans for some people in our lives but didn't have any luck. Can you find books & memorabilia cheaper online? Sure! But in a pinch and in terms of a brick & mortar store, Koryo gets the job done. read more

I visited this Koryo bookstore which is smacked right in the middle of 32nd st in K-town. The prices here are very expensive, if you are familar with the price of albumns. Nearly every item is $10-30 higher than other cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, or Vegas. If you know, you know. I get it the rent here is much higher than the cities listed above, but I think the owner will get more sales if they are only $5 more expensive than the cities listed above. I am very familar with albumns of various group and the prices, and I also know how much similar aespa and twice albumn cost in South Korea and Taiwan. read more

Nice Korean bookstore w/ lots of sound tracks for K-pop stars and cute cards and no air conditioning in the hottest part of summer!!!! What's up with that? Sales reps are super friendly and kind. My friend keeps telling me that if we ever went to S. Korea they'd be mean to us because we're fat. But even the little boutique on the second floor was super nice.... and saying that all of their clothes are one size fits all.... I stretched one out to see and it didn't expand indefinitely, so that's obviously a white lie. But they weren't harsh as I was expecting them to be. On the other side of the bookstore is a makeup / beauty area... I don't think it's safe to have the A/C off when selling those goods. A lot of them need to be a tad cooler, especially the gels that state on their packaging - best used when refrigerated..... I like Korean stores because they always have a lot of cute things. Stopped by here while exploring Koreatown just because I have heard a lot about this particular bookstore. It is a neat little place that is well kept. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 8/10 Clean, well lit and rather spacious on the first floor. There is a second floor but it is really small and has a tiny selection of clothing. On the first floor there is an entire beauty care section with a lot of products. They seemed rather expensive but I know very little about that. There is another section that is full of books, posters and Kpop albums. This is the meat of the store and for any fan of this stuff, this would be pretty much heaven. For me, who knows nothing, it was mildly interesting. SERVICE : N/A/10 Didn't require any service. PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 7/10 I guess I'd stop back to check things out. However the books here pretty much are all in Korean as expected, and seeing as I can't read any of it, I don't think there is much for me here. It makes a nice pitstop for walking around though. Went here for vacation in late July 2021, knowing that there would be a Kpop store in Koreatown in New York City, sure enough, there was. Better part, our Airbnb was actually 5 minutes away from Koreatown, so it was convenient for us to go to this Kpop store nearby our Airbnb. For the store itself, lots of albums and other Kpop merchandise. Price wise, a little bit steep, but still affordable by all means. An amazing place for all things Korea! Not only do they have K-pop items, but they have educational resources for how to learn Korean. They have a lot of K-pop albums and memorabilia and Korean learning books as well as stickers, phone cases, clothes ,and other random items. The only downside is that it's very expensive. The BTS love yourself album was $35 there. Which I understand if there's not a lot of stores around like theirs and they're a local business (and also if things are imported) it makes sense! I say pick and choose your battles as a consumer, it's up to you what you want to spend your money on. For example, I saw some NCT U pop up stickers and thought "do I want to pay $9 for this?" And the answer clearly was yes lol that's all I'll say about that. I definitely say check this store out if you are interested and love Korean culture! read more

Definitely an amazing stop for all kpop lovers. They have a nice range of merch and albums, (calendars, posters, masks, keychain, mini posters, cards, standing cutouts, stickers, etc.). They also have Kakao friends items which are a nice plus. Of course they also have translated books, toys, possible clothing section, and a combined section of makeup and skincare. I'm mainly reviewing the kpop side of this store. I've been to this store twice now, and I'm honestly looking for a cheaper version of it. When I first came here everything seemed reasonably priced bc I had never bought merch of any kind before this place. So I bought almost $200 dollars worth of merch, but looking back I could have gotten these items for little over a hundred. The prices for the albums are outrageous, amazon jacks up the prices for their kpop albums as well but not up to 10+ $. Some albums online have similar prices but they include freebies like posters and cards. Only certain albums have free posters in the store. If you're desperate to get an album in person then I guess do so. The have a wide range of merch in the store , all of which seemed quite over priced. The enamel pins were a real kicker over almost $10 for one small pin, however enamel are already expensive so. During my second visit I noticed that most of the unofficial merch was BTS (60%). Not a bad thing, just sayin that if you're part of the army then you got a lot of choices. Of course most of the merch is dominated by bigger groups, so smaller artists and groups have less items. They also have a lot of kakao friends stuff so check them out. Despite the overpriced merch and albums I still recommend going to the store and browsing if you're a kpop fan. Along the same road and next door they have nature Republic and the face shop so you can browse some beauty items after or before you visit Koryo. As a heads up for people, most of the albums I checked the prices for were $30 and up, I rarely saw an album that was "cheaper". I picked up an album that was released two years ago and wasn't hard back but for some reason it's the same price as a new hardback album, why? If you have time to browse check this place out, but if you only really need to buy something then take the time to find a store with better prices. read more

It's a little pricey for what you can get online, but I always prefer to buy them in person, so that's definitely a plus! You won't be disappointed. Whenever I'm in Korea Town, I love visiting this bookstore so I can pick up Korean books that I've been dying to read. We don't have anything like this in NC, so I have to use my time in NYC wisely. It's a decent size bookstore with variety of books. 1/2 of the store is Korean makeup and 1/4 of the store is K-pop goods. So there's something for everyone :) If you are interested in any of the makeup, books, or K-pop stuff, I think this place is definitely worth the visit to get your Korean cravings fixed!! read more

I LOVED THIS PLACE. It was my first trip to Koreatown and I did lots of research and decided to come here. My objective was to satiate my desire for SHINee and SS501 posters. Once you walk into the place you're greeted by the well-loved cutout of Kim Hyun Joong and directly to the right of it is the CD display. I picked up SHINee's Romeo and First Live Concert "SHINee World" albums. They both were marked up quite a bit because on YesAsia Romeo was $11.99 but at Koryo it was $22.00. On YesAsia the First Live Concert album was $21.99 but at Koryo it was $35.00. They had four copies of Romeo left. Two had Onew's picture and the other two were Minho and Key. Ideally I'd go for Taemin's but they didn't have it :-(. By the way if you come looking for Exo albums I heard the owner say they get new shipments on Fridays. Around the corner there are the posters hanging high up on the walls. They're not the standard big size that one would expect. They're 12cut posters meaning they're maybe 1/3 or 1/4 the size of the big ones but they come in packs of 12. I think Koryo had maybe 8 sets of them and per group they only had one pack. Besides SHINee and SS501 I remember seeing Super Junior, 2AM, MBLAQ, 2NE1, and SNSD too. Anyway the 12cut posters were like $24.95 per pack. All in all I spent $116 including tax (8.875% - watch out!). The man at the counter was very friendly and he answered all the questions I had about where things were. Even when I was confused and walked right past the posters, the lady in the back (drama section) kindly told me where they were. Because I spent quite a bit of money the man at the counter gave me a free Kim Hyun Joong poster. "You like Kim Hyun Joong, yes?" YES I DO. When I recover from that dent in my pocketbook and feel another urge to go kpop shopping I'll check back here for more SHINee stuff but I'll also check other stores for cheaper albums. It's worth a visit, though! read more

My daughter's a k-pop fan and got me into it with a little help from BTS. So we've been going to the Koryo often and being surrounded by all of the k-pop books and music and merch, it's just great. The prices are a bit higher than what you'd pay for a regular album/book/whatever but a lot of their stuff is made in and imported from Korea. So, you're going to pay a lil extra for the convenience of their having brought all of this Korean coolness to you. If you'd ordered it, you'd still pay more for shipping so... I could/easily give this place a clean 5 stars but I'm taking off a star because of the experience my daughter and I had this past weekend. A female employee with a pockmarked face who I'd never noticed before; she may be new, stayed within 3 feet of us wherever we went. When we looked at the albums, there she was behind us. We went over to the posters, BAM, there she was. At one point, she'd even bumped into me (of course she didn't say excuse me, lol) The racial profiling (let's just call it what it is) is something I'd never experienced at Koryo before. I was waiting for her to do a Starbucks and call the cops. Anywho, I often see other blacks in there and, heck, we'd all be in there with other k-pop fans just having fun checkin' out the k-pop merch. If this b.s. continues, I'll just order our k-pop goodies from Amazon and call it a day. read more
