I sent first born here from day one. Our whole family caught Covid over the weekend including my 5 month old infant. I called asking them to reschedule and sure enough they want to nickel and dime me for miss appointment fee. They said I should have called earlier. We have been going to Kids dentist ever since my kids were toddlers, 7-8 years or so. The lack of Care and just overall compassion for the families is nonexistent. They also pulled my sons tooth with out my permission or consent. The Owner Dr. Sonia ONLY cares about money, not her patients who are CHILDREN. I've been taking my children to this office since they were little , now they are teenagers . Yesterday my daughter had an appointment , after the appointment found out our insurance no longer is accepted there , it would have been very nice to know beforehand not after . While I was sitting in the office a hygienist explained to another woman that her children's fluoride treatment wouldn't be covered and she agreed that's fine . Why didn't they do the same for me it would have been really nice to know . I think the staff has very lack of communication with their clientele . Staff always super friendly and helpful. My son has been going here since he was 2 and he's now 15. Appointments are always on time and from a care standpoint, they are proactive in their treatment recommendations vs reactive and that helped my son who had some tooth issues early on with his baby teeth. This was our first time there and we absolutely loved it. My 9 and 3 year olds had cleanings and all the staff are super nice and professional. When they say that this place is made for kids they mean it! They made my kids feel so comfortable and explained everything to them before doing anything. The whole place is decorated so beautifully, each room with a different fun theme and all the colors are so attractive to kids. Makes them feel like they aren't even at the dentist. I had rude treatment with a receptionist on my first visit, I left a bad review and the next day Sonia sent me a message saying that they couldn't take care of my daughter anymore and to let them know which new office to send my daughter's records to. They just want to get good reviews, if you dare to write something bad...they just deny you service. Here the patient does not matter. We love Kids Dentist! My son had his first dental experience with another provider and it was horrible - the dentist did not have the patience or skill to treat children, despite advertising that they saw pediatric patients. When we brought him to Kids Dentist the first time, he was nervous, but all of the staff took such good care of him that he left feeling safe and confident. I recently brought my young daughter in for her first dental exam and everyone was so sweet and attentive. She had a great time and even asked to go back again :) They are also very organized. There are plenty of appointment reminder notifications and they keep your family records together so that when you go in for one appointment you are always in the loop about when your other child(ren) may need to come in again as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone. We definitely won't be going anywhere else! read more

Every single interaction with the team at Kids Dentist has been excellent! First impressions - The person on the phone was easy to talk to, understood our needs and helped get us a schedule at the earliest. At the clinic - The dentist we met was Dr. Dave and he did a great job in explaining things to us, allaying our fears as parents while also sharing tips for general dental care for a baby. As for his little patient (our 1 yr old) she didn't even realize she was seen by a doctor - thats how effortless he was! His knowledge and expertise was very much evident and we knew we were in good hands. The clinic itself is done very well. Vibrant and lots of play stuff for kids of different ages. The highlight to me was the X-Box game station! Each of the patient consultation rooms are done up in different themes. Ours was a space shuttle theme and looked simply beautiful. No one likes a visit to the dentist and this sure is a nice way to keep the little ones engrossed while here. Definitely recommend for your kiddos dental needs. Until I called them to schedule an appointment for my 5 year old who has a cracked tooth... they made me an appointment for 8 days later (even after I told them shes been nonstop crying in pain). So my 5 year old is suppose to be in extreme pain for over a week? You dont leave spots for emergencies? For this I will be switching my children to a new dentists office. **when I called back to cancel bc I found a pedatric dentist who was able to get me in today the woman who asked where my childs pain was located marked her down for a teeth cleaning (not a cracked tooth) ... really?! read more

They wanted to do root canals and crowns on my seven years old's baby teeth. I have been bringing Mikayla here for as long as she was old enough to go to the dentist. I don't remember how I heard about it, but I really like it and have been very satisfied from day one. The office completely caters to children so there's lots of kid friendly books and toys in the waiting area, a way cool fish tank, and today they have this really cool display of how much sugar is in some of the beverages that kids LOVE to drink (like pop and juice). They do an awesome job with the children to make them feel comfortable. Mikayla has had simple checkups and she has also had fillings and had to be given laughing gas. They used to encourage the parents to let the children go back by themselves, but with all the mayhem behind the little girl who lost her life having fillings done at the dentist, they do not make a fuss when parents want to accompany the kids. All in all, every experience here has been a good one so far and I would recommend it to parents out in this area, especially for children who have never had a dentist visit yet. read more

Such a rude receptionist. Tried making an appointment- we are a returning family after moving. She certainly made sure we will never return.

To begin with the front office is rude. My son had $1k in dental work here including crowns. His crown came off after a month and a half. They wanted pictures of the crown before they make an appointment. Then after sending tell me it'd be almost a month before they could get him in. My son is 9 he isn't prying off a crown. They put me on a cancellation list and said they could possibly get him in sooner. No emergency appointments apparently. They call and say they have a cancellation so I take the first available. I take my son in and they don't numb him with anything other than topical lidocaine and just start trying to push it in. Poking at gums around it with tools and at this point ask him if he's okay and he said no but apparently kept going. They cut his gum pushing in the crown again and then apply a few drops of something for pain. It isn't enough. By the time they send my son out (you aren't allowed to go back with them) I can see he's about to break down. I owed $42 after the last appointment (for the crown that came off). They call you when your child is done to come get them. The front office said I needed to come in to check out. So their concern is money and not the care and well being of a child. Can't spring for any pain meds when they can't bill you or insurance obviously. They already knew my son has a phobia of dentists and seem to want to continue that. read more

We have recently moved from the area so I decided to choose a different dentist and it was such a mistake. The other dentist and hygienist really didn't attempt to make the children comfortable first . The hygienist would leave big clumps of cleaner all over my children's face and the dentist really didn't have a good repore with with children. So glad I decided to go back to the Kid's Dentist in Grayslake. Love this dentist office. All the staff are so nice. Our hygienist, Cathy, is always patient, caring and is amazing with my kids. The dentists here have been just as friendly and detailed. Dr Dave and Kerrie are great. No one gets frustrated, children's teeth always come out clean as well as their faces. I had been taking my 2 boys there for past 4 years. thought all was well until I missed an appointment. They wanted to charge me $50 bucks for missing an appointment. I think not and told them so, if I were habitual that's one thing, but we were not. I asked them to check with the owner and get back to us (they never did). Anyway, our 3yr old had a root canal on final visit - and we then missed the followup by 30 minutes for which triggered the $50 charge. Later took my kid to another dentist and found out that he had infection due to the "medicine" they put in his tooth or mouth during the root canal. In any case I guess it was in too long as we tried to work out the $50 charge via 3 non returned phone calls and a single email. So our 3 yr old suffered and developed an infection as the KIDS DENTIST we're negligent in explaining how or when this medicine needed to be removed and in refusing followup care until we paid their fee of $50. Even when we scheduled our appointments with a particular hygienist or dentist, we would end up being put in someone else's schedule, which was frustrating when trying to keep a 2 year old calm at the dentist. We began going there because they were in-network, but we always had to bring our fee schedule along because they could never recall the rates they contracted with our dental plan. We walked out of our appointment today after I was called a liar about his treatment at his previous appointment. We will from now on see an out-of-network dentist to avoid the drama of what should be a safe place for my son. read more
