I think this place is great! Remember to bring socks for the children and adults, everyone needs them to enter the secure area. I recommend coming during slow hours mornings during the week are great. Saturdays are super busy! We came on a Tuesday morning and my kids had the place to themselves! So excited for a new play area so close to home! Clean and HUGE play area for the kids. Love that this facility is set up for a kids of all ages. I even saw some adults having a blast on the slides. There is a toddler area on the left for smaller kids with a ball pit. My boys are only 18 months old and loved this section. Even though they are young they were still able to climb in the big kids area. Everything was set up big enough for even adults to follow their kids into the climbing gym. The slides are HUGE AND FAST! So be prepared. But the kids absolutely loved it and had so much fun. I loved how everything looked clean and shoes weren't allowed to be worn inside. (Remember to bring your own socks if you don't want to purchase them.) I love that they enforced this to keep the play area clean from dirt and germs. They provide bins at the check in counter for your shoes. There were soooo many different areas for my boys to play in. There was a dark room with laser lights for them to dance in. There was a mini soccer field on top of the climbing gym as well as an area with jumbo legos. Lots and lots of tables for big parties and even for parents to get some work done while the kids run around. There were signs posted for no outside food and drinks. They do serve food and have snacks you can order at the counter. I also noticed multiple areas with hand sanitizer around the play areas. Love how they really thought through everything. The hours are amazing for this play area! They stay open till 10 pm! That's insane and totally unexpected. But super excited that this is an option for us. We chose to purchase the 10 pass punchcard since we have 2 kids. We thought this was the better option since we knew we would definitely be back. There is a limit of 2 adults per child but you can always pay more for additional adults. I recommend signing their waiver online before showing up. Similar to other reviewers, we have been here several times and always had a great experience. Unfortunately, today was the opposite and I will do my best not to be a patron here anymore. We came for one hour of playtime and the gentleman who seemed to be a manager insisted I have to be IN the play space with my kids and that I MUST wear socks. They have socks for sale. I spent $39 to let my kids play and they had socks on. I didn't want to spend time and money on a silly rule to purchase socks for me and so I offered to wait on the other side of the gate. He insisted I must purchase socks or leave. This was despite the fact there was a woman NOT in the play space supervising her kids. She was waiting outside the fence because she had a beverage. It seems Kids Empire - Deerfield has strict and unnecessary rules to uphold and the employees do not do so consistently. Frustrating to say the least. One day you can have coffee, one day you cannot. One day adults need socks and one day they do not. Either way, overpriced, not customer-oriented and clearly just out to make money over caring at all about your kid's experience. read more

I really don't like to leave these type of reviews, but after no help from their Corporate Office (there is really no way to get in touch with them) I'm left with no other choice. We had an extremely negative experience hosting our son's birthday party in early Jan at their Deerfield Location. 1) We had 21 kids show up instead of the 24 that were anticipated. Kids Empire refuses to reimburse for any kids that do not show up to the party (even if it is because of illness) And the cost per kid is already extremely expensive given that it is over $30 per child. Completely ridiculous. 2) We were told by Kids Empire that we would be the only birthday party at that time. When we got there the is was complete chaos with two other birthday parties going on the at the same time. The 3-person staff was completely overwhelmed and there was no one available to attend to our party and also monitor kid's safety. On top of the that, one do the staff members had two of her own kids with her! 3) We were told we would be getting a snack pack for each child and weren't allowed to bring any outside food (except for cupcakes) The staff told us at the party that all they were allowed to give were fruit snacks. This was overly embarrassing to our guests, family and friends that we did not have any other snacks and food to provide. Again, I really do not enjoy leaving these type of reviews and hardly ever take the time to do so. But Kids Empire in Deerfield left me with no other choice. So I strongly advise against having your child's birthday party at this location until they become more organized and change their policies. read more

This review is for paying an extreme amount of money to host a birthday party at Kids Empire in Deerfield. I would recommend you look elsewhere to host a birthday. No one knew what they were doing. In doing my research and asking questions in advance of the party the people I spoke with on the phone all seemed confused. When we arrived the morning of the party everyone seemed confused. Our "dedicated party rep" didn't really know what our party included. Others who had ad hoc parties (not paying the crazy package price from Kids Empire) seemed to get more attention than we did. We ended up having to pay for 3 additional kids that didn't even show up. Weeks later we still can't get refunded. Please consider hosting your child's party elsewhere. read more

They schedule unlimited birthday parties to start at the same time so the check in process is 30-45 mins to just get the kids in the door. They need to plan better and spread out the parties. Especially on Saturday morning. read more

We visited the Deerfield location today and I'm incredibly bummed. We have been here several times and have had wonderful experiences however, today's experience may be our last. I used to rave to everyone I knew about how clean this place was. There was quite a bit of garbage and gobs of dust in the climbing areas. Food chunks and crumbs near the block area. There was no one, parents nor employees, watching the motorized vehicle area. At one point there were four kids climbing onto one motorcycle, blocking the area for others. Among other things, there was a caregiver there with two children. One was probably 4-5 and the other was probably a little over a year. They were both with their caregiver in the toddler area. An employee aggressively came over to let her know they had to leave the area because the older of the two was too old to be playing in that area. She was just kind of hanging out because her little brother was toddling around and her mom was tending to him. There were also ant traps on the ground within very easy reach of a quick toddler. I was hoping to be a patron of a business with greater standards and safety. After all, their business is children. read more

A recent experience by members of my family was a poor one; staff was unavailable and not supportive.

My nanny recently took my daughter here. She was told at the front desk that her debit card didn't work, so they asked for her credit card. Upon returning home, she saw that not only did the charge go through on her debit card, but it went through 2x on her credit card. It is now 2 weeks later and absolutely no one is able or willing to process a refund. We have the credit card statements showing the 3 charges and the receipt clearly showing 1 ticket. The District Manager refused to assist and said only corporate HR can provide refunds. There is no phone number for "corporate", not even the front desk people at the shop know that. The email address is a generic email that appears to be run by a 3rd party servicer. We did get through to an individual via email, but they tried to deny the refund at first (even though it could not be more evident that 3 charges went through, my 2 yr old daughter can see that much). And now they have stopped responding overall. With no corporate structure or accountability, I can only imagine how they handle other aspects of the business. And I think they were taking advantage of individuals who perhaps English is not their first language. I would strongly advise IF you must go, PAY CASH and if you have recently gone, please double-check your credit card statements because I have a feeling this is not the first time this has happened. Best advice - go to another business altogether! Beware. read more

My kids love coming here! The space is clean, we have made friends with other kids and the staff is easy going!

Beware their Birthday Party Surcharge if you bring siblings expecting to pay for them to play! One of my daughters was invited to a birthday party. We decided to bring our other daughter along so she could play, but pay for her ourselves as she was not invited to the party. At check-in, they told us they had to charge the "party rate" of $35 for the sibling that was not attending the party, despite the fact that she had absolutely nothing to do with the birthday party, was not invited, did not participate and was playing independently at the location while her older sister attended the party. It's just a $15 surcharge they tack on because they know you have a kid expecting to play who you won't say no to. Next time I'll check her in first and then walk in the birthday attendee. When I asked the reasoning they claimed it was because they had no way to ensure she wasn't taking advantage of the party. I would understand that except that the party had no food or drinks provided by Kids Empire (and so I ended up spending an additional $15 on top of that for snacks and drinks for her) so there wasn't really anything she was "taking advantage" of. They did not disclose that to the family hosting the party either so the invite specifically said siblings could come if paid for-cute. Do not go here on days schools are closed. It's overrun and the staff will not intervene at all with respect to poor behavior, kids hurting each other, blocking the slides and overtaking the toddler area. Their staff is not interested at all and it's a struggle to get them to a register to check in or get snacks. The music is also heinously loud for no reason at all times. Expect to stand in line outside for 30 mins because it will be understaffed. We'd stop going here other than my kids enjoy it when the weather is bad, but it has quickly turned into a last resort location. Pretty sad given it has only been open a few months. read more

We brought our 2 kids here and the employees who reaked of marijuana Accidentally charged my card for 3 kids and when we asked for a refund they told us they refunded all 3 and then charged us again for the two kids. Unfortunately my card shows they charged our account for 5 children and now they refuse to refund us at all, the manager who openly admitted to smoking marijuna on the job at a place full of children told me to stop calling. This place is beyond ridiculous. Very nice amenities for the kids however, the management is worse than Nazi. They seem to enforce rules that they make up as they go along.
