Relatively smaller kid's activity area, with one main structure to climb, go around, and slide, a separate section for plastic ball pool, couple of vending machine games, and a large area to sit. All of the play area/equipments are very well maintained, super clean. Good spot to celebrate kid birthdays. The associates need little bit more training/experience in how to execute a birthday party with kids. I noticed the teenager assigned to our host, was scrambling a lot. This would help for guests to have a nicer party experience.

I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

Happy New Year friends!…read more 2026 is my year (I say this every year) and I wanted to center my well-being today. So I joined my body affirming hiking group (ask about us!) for our Jan. 1 First Day Hike to Garret Mountain. Imagine our collective surprise when we woke up to a phantom overnight snowstorm! Still we persisted. Our group of 6 was suited and hiking booted for the wooded trails only to discover a thick layer of ice under and over the rocks headed into the forests. Even our microspikes wouldn't have been much help due to the steep declines. So we backtracked and decided to walk the auto loop instead. We got a mile into our 3 miles and Passaic County PD came around and announced the park was closing due to ice and dangerous conditions. So we walked back up to the auto lookout and headed out. 2 of 3 miles wasn't bad considering that I was cold in places I've never been cold before, and had just said to my friend, "I have a bad feeling about this hike today" right before we had to come out of the woods due to ice. Listen to your intuition! I know this park will be stunning in spring so I can't wait to return. The mountain views and gorgeous NYC skyline are not to be missed. Keep in mind: -The Tower was closed for maintenance so check before you go -Microspikes are a must in the winter - and even then... -It's a good 7-8 degrees colder up high in the park. 22 felt like 15. -the wildlife does not gaf. Stumpy's Hatchet House is the first indoor axe throwing venue in the US. We visited the Fairfield location on Route 46 West. It's located inside a large office complex that has plenty of parking. The entrance is in a little corner. It may look small at first, but looks are deceiving - it's a lot more spacious inside. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff member in the lobby/check-in area. The ambiance and decor is ON POINT! It's a very rustic atmosphere with a lumberjack theme - you'll feel like you're in a cozy cabin. Take some time to look at their wall decor and merchandise. Reservations (deposit required) are highly recommended, especially for larger groups on the weekends. They do accept walk-ins, but only if there's available room. We came on a Sunday at 5pm without any reservations and it was surprisingly empty. You can book for 1-3 hours. Smaller groups (4 and under) are booked for 1 hour, while larger groups (5 and over) are booked for 2 or 3 hours. Pricing is based on how many hours you book for and is charged per person. They also have a 20% discount for military and first responders. We paid $60 for an hour ($30 each for 2 of us) and signed our waivers. Stumpy's has 10 hatchet pits, each with two targets and plenty of room for the participants. There are tables, chairs, and comfy sofas. It's BYOB (beer + wine only) and you can even bring your own food. They have a "bar" with light snacks and soft drinks available for purchase. An axe throwing instructor gave us a tutorial on safety, how to throw the axe, and how to use the interactive game system. Unfortunately I forgot his name, but he was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. He checked in on us and gave us some tips/suggestions to correct our form. You can simply hurl your axes at the target or you can choose from a variety of interactive hatchet throwing games on a touch screen system. In addition to axe throwing, they also have darts and giant games (like Jenga). It took awhile for me to get the hang of it.... but I finally activated the lumberjack in me and got around to hitting a couple of bullseyes!!! This was a fun experience overall. The atmosphere was lively, music was good, and the interactive games kept us entertained for an hour. I recommend trying axe throwing as a way to bond with people over some friendly competition or to release stress in a productive manner! Not to mention... it's also a great work out ;) Put that upper body and core to work... and hurl that axe like you mean it!

It took a while for my friend and I to get the hang of it, but our husbands, who had been before, did well. After a good hour I finally became adept There was cornhole, jenga and shuffleboard. It was nice to break up the throwing. The couches were comfy too. They sell some snacks and drinks but the place is byo. They offer ice if needed. We saw some groups get pizza delivered. Would definitely return!

My typical approach is to walk stretches of "Ditch Road" which is accessed off of Clinton Street in Fairfield. Some sections of land off of Ditch Road are privately managed by the Fairfield Sportsmen Club and not open to the public, however you are free to walk all the way to nice natural views of the Passaic River. If you don't go early in the spring or late in the fall, you will be eaten alive by insects. Also it will be completely overgrown and inaccessible. If you do go in the early spring or late fall, it will still be inaccessible, because its a freaking swamp. Expect to sink into the mud frequently and deeply. It's technically open to the public for hiking and fishing, but I get the very strong feeling the state doesn't actually want you there. There are no parking areas that I can find, no easy access (the only way I have found to access the area is parking on a dead-end street and a long walk on a road parallel to the highway past a private hunting preserve), and there are no trails aside from one footpath surrounding the lake. (Presumably made by those fishermen I have never seen) The first time I went there myself, I attracted the attention of a state trooper, who assumed I must have broken down or been kidnapped or something, as he had never seen anyone in those woods. Also, though I said it's untouched, I meant that there are no trails or official alterations to the land. This doesn't seem to stop anyone from using it as a communal landfill, however. There are sofas, old tires, various tetanus-inducing metal things, etc. I have never seen anyone else there, but it abuts against a private hunting preserve. . .and although the state land is technically off limits to hunters, I heard turkey calls that were definitely NOT coming from the private land. I would be very afraid to return, and possibly become a target for poachers. On the plus side, if you can avoid being shot, it is very isolated, and very serene.
