Some of the areas are geared towards the blind and deaf. Parking is free and there is plenty of it at the entrance to the PBS Studios. The park was designed by CH2M Hill engineering and construction firm and cost $600,000 with the money coming from a voter-approved bond issue in 2004. The original plan for the land was to relocate Atlantic High School to it but when it was no longer needed for that purpose the developers of Bexley Park purchased it and set it aside for a city park. The 11.2 acre park has 4 picnic pavilions with tables (can be rented), a playground (closed), grills, open area, a paved nature trail around the lake across the street, and a short mulched walk where you may spot threatened gopher tortoises, snakes, butterflies, and birds. The park is owned by the City of Delray Beach so you don't have to live in the neighborhood to visit the park. It is open every day from 8 AM to dusk.

This full acre playground is located in the Wellington Town Center Promenade. This area includes…read morethe Wellington Community Center, Wellington Amphitheater, and the Patriot Memorial. The last time I was here the playground was closed after being shut down July 2022 for construction activity related to the Town Center Phase 2 project. It resumed regular operating hours in May of 2023. When I visited the recent Lakeside Market I was delighted to find it filled with happy children playing on the unique and inclusive equipment. Scott's Place Barrier-Free Playground was built in 2010 with a donation made by Wellington residents Del and Barbara Williamson in honor of their son Scott Scott had cerebral palsy and sadly passed away at age of six. The playground is barrier free meaning it was designed to meet the needs of both able-bodied and disabled children. There aren't many playgrounds created to be barrier free so this is a very special play space for all of the children of Wellington to enjoy. As part of this project, Wellington held a community build weekend event where more than 300 volunteers assembled all of Scott's Place playground equipment. This fenced in playground is themed to Wellington's horse culture with a large horse statue, play wagon, and a horse spring rider. There are the traditional climbing equipment and swings that you expect to find at any playground but also special equipment like sensory items, a communication board where non verbal children can point at pictures to let people know their needs, and wheelchair ramps. There is also a reading corner, covered pavilion, benches, and restrooms. Parents can appreciate the safety aspects of this play space while the kids can enjoy creative play that encourages imagination and physical movement. Kudos to Wellington for creating this safe, clean, and inclusive environment for children to play and explore.

This is especially helpful for children with communication challenges, promoting inclusion and self-expression. Love that! The park is well-designed with accessible pathways, sensory play areas, and safe equipment suitable for various ages. My kids love it here. We periodically come after school so they can get some of the energy out before going home. Those who know, know! There are also shaded spots for parents to relax and watch their kids play. Overall, Scott's Place is a welcoming, thoughtful space that encourages social interaction and supports children's emotional well-being through play.

Signage was displayed everywhere, very easy to follow. So many volunteers for such an awesome event. I know that the event was the star of the day but it wouldn't have been possible without this great location. But just after one visit we realized what an amazing park this is and often drive from two cities away just to visit. This park is a lovely escape to nature in South Florida. Boosting, many walking paths, bike paths, a dog park, a splash pad, frisbee, golf pitch, fishing areas, boating lake and many other sports areas. Overall, the paths pavement are generally well maintained, however, you do get a little bit of cracking as you do with most paved areas in Florida due to the heat- nothing too extreme, it was still easy to push a stroller. The bathrooms are always clean, yet admittedly, they are quite dated and dark on the inside, even though hygienically they are up to standards . Perhaps adding some better lighting on the inside could help make it feel a little nicer. Today while walking around the park, we visited many of the small playgrounds and our young child enjoyed getting out to play .

First off, this park complex is huge -- just under 40 acres. And has about anything -- almost --…read moresports wise that a Florida kid could be involved in or want to do. The indoor Recreation Center houses a gym and has meeting rooms for various programs. And outside are more than a dozen fields for baseball, softball, and multipurpose ones for soccer or la crosse, et al. Almost forgot the volleyball set up with a sand base and the tennis courts. There's a one-mile exercise path with stations; a large picnic pavilion that groups can rent and a few smaller pavilion's too. For the younger kiddies, there's a playground with swings and two "structures" for different age groups. There is supposed to be a skate park and a roller hockey rink, but we didn't see all of parts of the park . As you enter the park, you can see some construction going on. They are building indoor/outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. They are hoping to open either later this year or in 2027.

It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

Pocket parks arose from the desire in the community to have places for kids to play instead of another building on the vacant land. Although small, the city packed a lot into this pocket park. It has a 3 story play structure with slide, swings, play house for toddlers, benches, picnic tables, and a paved walking path. Yale Newman Park was dedicated in 2002 in honor of Yale Newman who was born on August 17, 1914. Mr. Newman and his wife had visited Boca Raton during their honeymoon in 1938. They moved to the city upon Mr. Newman's retirement in 1972 from his position as the Superintendent of recreation in Long Island, New York. Mr. Newman served on the Park and Recreation board for 24 years during which he saw the number of parks grow from 11 to over 41. if you visit a park in Boca Raton, you can thank Yale Newman for it.
