Kids Klub is a full service school. I have become very spoiled by the amenities and as a working parent I am also very appreciative of it. I take very little credit for my children converting from bottle to cup, trying new foods, eating with utensils, potty training, reading, writing, learning spanish, adding/subtracting, sharing, playing games together, etc. There is also the social development side/focus that has been nothing but fabulous. Our oldest just graduated from the pre-school program at Kids Klub. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful and pleased we are with our experience here. I can accept that not everyone will have the same experience that we are having at Kids Klub but I still remember the feeling I had when I dropped both of my children off for the first time. I felt safe. I felt comfortable. It was a mother's gut instinct that made me never look back or ever doubt that we had made the right decision. Our years here have been money well spent. Kids Klub has a facility filled with teachers and caregivers that really do care about your children. And when there is a problem, they really do make an effort to work with you on resolving the issue or help you through the rough phases that your children go through. In addition, I have found the parents of the children are also a great support. One of the most important things I continue to learn in my adult life and as a parent is that you have to do a self check on yourself before you start to play the complaint/blame game. When you can do that, you can create solutions for your family when issues arise. Our oldest was a handful during the teething/talklng phase. I thought for sure we would get kicked out for the number of incident reports we came home with. But in Kids Klub fashion, the Director brought us all together to make sure that everyone was on the same page (for consistency) with successfully getting through this phase. And we did - successfully. Kids Klub has strict rules like any school but I have found that they are flexible with certain things if you take the time to discuss it with the administrators and the teachers- especially if it will help the child. There is no hidden agenda. Everything is told to you up front and when you sign the papers. I have also seen Kids Klub change and improve on a continuous basis based on people's comments/feedback both internal and external. In fact, the most recent change makes me excited for my youngest who is now in the 2 year old class. I could go on and on about the school but then I'd have to create my own web page because it would be too long.. The wait list is a minimum of 1 year but well worth it. I am sad to see my oldest leave this wonderful school. read more

First time our 18 month old went there, he was not able to sleep. He was bawling when we picked him up, despite him being able to nap at every other place we've taken him. Second time was the worst though, as they screwed up our appointment and didn't inform us until I was ready to take him there. They didn't want to take responsibility for the screw-up, and since this was less than 1 hour before the appointment time, my wife had to stay home from work all day AND I had to leave work early to help her out in the afternoon. My two children have attended Camp Kids Klub for several years and love every minute of it. My son went to several of the specialty camps with paintball camp being his absolute favorite. My daughter has so many friends that she keeps in touch with from camp kids klub all year long. They make my summer so easy with flexible hours and serving breakfast and lunch. I only use the weekend/evening care as my 2 children are enrolled in public kindergarten, but let me say: I really, really appreciate Kids Klub. They have their own kitchen! My kids enjoy kitchen creations, art, outside time, the huge aquarium, everything. The children plants seeds and bring home the pots and they actually grow! As other reviewers have said, the flexible drop-off and pick-up times are really amazing and what makes it so convenient and practical. The staff are so friendly. One thing I appreciate: Kids Klub has some male caregivers, who all seem super competent. I appreciate this because my two kids are boys and its good for them to see male staff taking care of kids. I loove Kids Klub! And my son loves it too. The people at the front desk are always friendly and the teachers at the infants/toddlers really care about the children there. My son goes here for the after school/weekend care and unlike babysitters that people hire to look after their kids, Kids Klub prepare activities so kids can still play and interact with other friends. We moved out of Pasadena but we don't mind driving here to drop our son off whenever I need to work during the weekends or when my husband & I would like to watch a movie. Hopefully other daycares in LA also follow Kids Klub's business model and open their facility during the weekends or after school. read more

You wouldn't believe what happened today. All the kids from the South Pasadena location went on a field trip to Scooters Jungle in El Segundo on a bus with NO AIR CONDITION. No water was provided either. My boys were dripping with sweat when I picked them up and drank two bottles of water straight. I called and was told that all their other vehicles had ac and they were not aware this rented bus had no AC. It was 101 degrees with unusual humidity for Southern California today. Children as young as 4 years old were stuck on this bus for over 3 HOURS WITH NO WATER. I cannot trust these people with my children and urge other parents to do their own research before sending their children to this camp. Additional comments after reading the response from Michael: As I have gathered from the response and other viewers are free to draw their own conclusion: they are sorry that we had a horrid experience but they stand behind their decision and will do the same again in the future if needed. The decision for the camp to use the rental bus was well thought out with the kids' safety as the ultimate goal, claimed by the company. It also seems that the temperature went over 90 unexpectedly. Well, I would not leave my kids with people who cannot read the weather forecast. The fact the all the other owned vehicles are well equipped does nothing for us. The only vehicle that mattered was the one my boys were on. Not going to split hair on the time spent but LA people, light traffic going from Lax to south Pasadena in the early afternoon? Miracle. By the way, my boys were wearing tracking devices so I knew when they got on the road and that's how I managed to be there just as they were getting off. When I asked the director to at least communicate the issue to the other parents who were not aware of the issue. Her response was that she needed to ask the owner. Judging by the response, that communication might no happen. Hope some will be able to read this. Their response also mentioned that the only other choice was to cancel the trip. I believe that would be the right choice with the children's safety being the top priority. The question is why they didn't? Maybe there was monetary concerns? read more

I have been going to Kids Klub since I was 2 months old. I am 14 now. I basically grew up at Kids Klub, I was in the "Piglets" and I met my best friend that I still go to Kids Klub with today. We went through all of Preschool with the best care and the most fun activities a preschooler would enjoy. Once we were 5 we went to different schools but everyday after school I would get picked up by Kids Klub and return to the school age building to do homework. The counselors helped with us with our homeworks until our parents came to pick us up. During the summer we would go to Camp Kids Klub. There are 3 groups of different ages, The Pioneers, Mountaineers, and Teens. The activities are always fun and the friends you make will last forever. S K.'s comment is completely false. I cannot thank Camp Kids Klub and their Staff enough for the amazing Summer my Son had this year!!! My 6 year old Pioneer's Counselor, Izzy, went above and beyond to make sure every minute was fun and exciting especially through dancing & music. During Believe in Magic Week, my Son dressed up as a Magician and forgot his Playing Cards for the tricks he wanted to show everyone. At drop-off for the shuttle my Son was upset about this and Camp Counselor Geo noticed and called the South Pasadena location to make sure my Son had a pack of playing cards when he got there so he could show everyone the tricks he'd worked so hard on. My Son has already asked that we Sign Up for next year and we will! The Field Trips, arts & crafts, Staff and Camp Spirit made it a perfect place for my active, fun loving boy and for him to have the Summer we dreamed about for him! Terrible customer service. I called inquiring about drop off childcare giving the specific hours I need and the attendant told me yes they do that and gave me instructions on how to apply. After a week's worth of getting doctor's notes and filling out paperwork I come to the facility to find out that they don't offer that service. The attendants that were there didn't seem to care. I am now out a week and frustrated that they told me the wrong thing. read more

My two kids have been through here, and I can't say enough about how great the teachers are. I've built great communication with them, and they really get my kids, who are both a real handful at times. The administration has been uneven at times, and leadership seems to have got it back under control. I hope they are taking care of these incredibly hard working teachers and assistants and giving them raises - especially since tuition does get bumped up every year. But honestly, the teachers (and the other staff, especially the kitchen!) go all the way with getting to know these kids, keeping them safe, and giving them the tools they need to become good people and members of the community at large. read more

We had an 8 year relationship with Kids Klub and sent our two sons there. We loved them until my youngest began to experience some growing up issues. He threw temper tantrums, he wanted to go home. This place, where we had an excellent relationship and bills itself as a child development center, began immediately requesting more money to watch our son more closely. A lot more money. Then Miss Vivian told us that "sometimes, a child can be a little bit (holds fingertips close together) autistic and you can't even tell." She made other unbelievably unqualified and idiotic remarks in the same vein. We pulled our kids out, and went to Montessori, where he had some of the same issues, but they DEALT WITH IT in a professional manner and guided him, which is what he needed. You would think a "child development center" would do that, especially when you are paying them 12k/yr. Our experience was if your kid needs any actual developing, they will try to drive you out through the use of a 50% price increase so someone can pay attention to your child. 12k doesn't cover attention apparently. Our son is now labeled by his kindergarten teacher as the best behaved student in class, and he is also an excellent doer of homework and a great listener to instructions. He is extremely smart. Not even "a little bit autistic." Our experince here was one of elitism, insensitivity, stupidity on Vivien's part, and a feeling of complete abandonment exactly when we needed what they advertise to provide. If they need to do anything but warehouse your kid, you'll hear from them. the excuses will be long, but the request will be the same - more money on top of the already obscene rate they charge. The teachers were great for the most part, and we loved them. A few should not be working in a day care. Those few make a big difference. The owners have a corporate strategy that is mass production, lots of glitz and glamor, lacking in substance and woefully inadequate on character and integrity. There are better places for your child to learn and grow. Much better places. I'd stay away. read more

I wouldn't give too high score on it because the floater structure is not good. Some of floater they are not even well trained. They tend to scare the kids and prevent them from using their toys. They always grab my daughter stuff bear away instead of helping and explaining to her. They don't watch on kids very carefully coz my daughter always come home with scratches and bumps. And sometime, their teachers are cold, not greeting to the kids. When My daughter first started this preschool, she had language barrier and I don't think the teachers were dedicated to help her overcome and get familiar with the new environment. I wouldn't recommend younger kids that can't express themselves well to go this preschool. Overall, I don't think It worths the price. read more

My daughter started at Kids Klub when she was four months old because my husband's work was across the street. Since then my husband has changed jobs, but we still trek out to Pasadena because we cannot find a facility that comes close to offering the love, respect, and top-notch curriculum at Kids Klub. We now have three kids and they all attend Kids Klub and they love it there. We know they are safe, well cared for, and they will eat nutritious meals every day. Although it is pricey, it is worth every cent. You get what you pay for. read more

SK's review is very strange. Just went on a tour last night with my husband, my 2 y/o son and was impressed with how clean everything was even after a long day. They actually do tours during Thursday mornings during school time too, btw. The curriculum was very structured and I was impressed with the organization and cleaniliness of the place. The person giving the tour new the kids by name and the kids would give her a hug which was a good sign. I will definitely send my son here (given that my husband and I are physicians and we have very high standards in terms of academics and cleanliness, this is a good sign). I was really pleased to find an hourly evening/weekend care center that is open for such, regularly! They are very buttoned-up in their management and professionalism, and the place is like a wonder-land for kids, so mine is always happy to go. At the front desk, they have always been accommodating, speedy and very care-taking, with the kids and whenever I have a question. I actually visited twice before registering and leaving my child. The neighborhood is also home to a mission, with a lot of homeless folks down the block, but the security system at kids klub seems quite extensive and well-handled, so it doesn't bother us! read more

I have only nice things to say about the place. The staff are caring, the children are happy and well-taken care of, and they advance a lot in terms of social and academic skills by the time they graduate pre-school. My two kids went here from the infant through pre-K years. They are now in 8th and 3rd grades and I still believe we had a great experience here. My kids are still friends with the other kids they met here even though they all have gone on to different elementary schools. The facility is designed for working parents, with meals provided and extended hours that aren't offered at most daycare facilities. It was well-organized, the staff were friendly, extra services like gymnastics, ballet and karate have been offered. My kids were always happy here. read more

We use Kids Klub for the Evening Weekend care only. It has been the perfect babysitting solution for us. Because it is a daycare facility during the day, I know that the facility is safe and the staff are well trained. The rates for hourly care are very reasonable as well. I have been coming to Kids Klub since 2002 I believe they were almost brand new. My now 5 year old goes there now and has been since he was 2. My now 19 year old who would go back in 2002 still talks about how much she loved the place. I can't say enough great things about Kids Klub. Really I can't. There are only a few negative reviews and I read them and I guess everyone has a right to a opinion. My kids have never been hurt there at all. But of they do her hurt they are kids and playing at kids Klub means they could get hurt. I am not a sleep fanatic and so if I came in expecting my child to be asleep and they weren't I doubt id make a huge deal about it. That's what nannies are for or babysitters at home. I am a fanatic with who id leave any of my children with. In fact I had 1 nanny for 1 year. It was too scary for me to not know someone well enough and trust them with my kids. I know it's my issue. But with Kids Klub I am always certain my kids would enter happy and leave upset cause they wanted to stay longer. That's a great sign for me. read more

The counselors at Camp Kids Klub are kind, caring and fun, and the directors of the camp ensure that the kids' safety is first and foremost, whether they are on campus, at the beach, or on a field trip. My son especially loves the overnight camping trips and the specialty day camps such as Destination Science Camp. Camp Kids Klub provides plenty of opportunities for kids to expand their skills in all areas- academics, sports, the arts-- but most importantly, it is fun, the way summer should be for kids. My kids have been going to Kids Klub for almost 6 years. I have had a preschooler through 5th grade and also now an infant through Kindergarten attend. So we have seen every facet of early childhood development. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at KK. From infants through School Age I have always felt that they had the utmost concern for my children in terms of fun, learning, safety and most of all respect. As my children have moved through the age groups they've formed strong bonds with their teachers and care givers. As a two working parent family I can't over emphasize how important that bond is. My kids felt supported, cared for and nurtured when neither me or my husband could be there. The activities are well planned and executed. The summer and winter camps are so much fun and really the best around. The morning drop off at school and afternoon pickup from school are lifesavers and the extended and weekend hours are a blessing. I live in Pasadena and work in Culver City. My commute would never allow me to get back to Pasadena at 6:00 on the dot. For working parents this general rule of thumb at other child development centers is totally unrealistic, especially living and working in LA. But KK is the place that really gets what makes raising kids and working in LA compatible. Please go see the place for yourself. You will not believe what a great environment they have and you will not be disappointed. read more

My grandchildren have attended Kids Klub camp for the past 3 years. My granddaughter loved the Horseback Riding Camp and my grandson loved the paintball camp. The counselors are very conscientious and aware of the children at all times and the camp encourages independence and gives the feeling of warmth, and openness. Everyone is there for your child and each activity is well planned. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest and recommend this camp to anyone that wants a great experience for their child. read more

Kids Klub Pasadena is awsome! They have a great pre-school program during the week and an awesome Party House on the weekend. I just had a party there for my 3yr old daughter and they were so... much help. I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING! The party coordinator and her two assistants took care of the whole thing. The children had so much fun playing with their three different bouncers and game tables. I have never been to a place where they throw private parties for children that are this big. My son goes to Kid's Klub 2 afternoons a week..at first he wasn't into going and now he wants to go more..its a great school, a bit pricey so i can't afford to put him in more than 2 afternoons. He has really learned a lot in those 2 afternoons and i utilize the after care so he has dinner there and now eats like a little gentleman when we go to restaurants. The teachers are all friendly and really seem to be kind and loving towards the children. I asked my son if the teachers ever yell at him and he said no. I love how secure the building is, it basically has a fort around it and you have to be buzzed in by placing your thumb on a machine and it recognizes your print ..they have a giant aquarium and a room full of lizards etc..about 5 little playgrounds, a theater for dress up, a library, and lots more. I recommend signing up for their babysitting program its $8 an hour, starts at 6pm, kids get a meal they have a jumpy house at night, movies, play etc...i think its a great option if you can't afford to always pay a babysitter $15 an hour and they get to play w/ other children instead of just sitting at home. read more

Our first daughter graduated from Kids Klub last year and my younger daughter still goes there. My husband and I feel it was one of the best decisions we made for our girls. We had visited numerous local daycare facilities/preschools and I had come out of those tours almost in tears because the conditions were so horrible. The building at Kids Klub is clean, well-maintained, colorful, and a delight for kids. There is a general store, a science center, art center, library, stage, aquariums full of unique fish, and a covered play area in the back. The school curriculum is challenging academically, but fun at the same time. (My daughter in kindergraten is currently doing some of the same things she already learned at Kids Klub.) Some teachers provide homework, there are Spanish lessons, and there is a lot of hands-on learning with their kitchen creations and various building projects. It is a well-organized, structured, teacher-directed environment with the children being constantly engaged. The teachers are all dedicated, warm, enthusiastic, positive, and seem to really enjoy their students. The administration also really listens and takes firm action if there is even the slightest problem. My older daughter is thriving academically at her kindergarten mainly due to the preparation Kids Klub provided. The biggest complaint I hear from other Kids Klub parents is that we wished Kids Klub would extend to high school. Otherwise, we are extremely grateful to Kids Klub for providing us with such a wonderful learning environment for our chidlren. read more
