We were afraid we couldn't overcome such a terrible experience that gave us nightmares or we couldn't even sleep just thinking about our child's entire experience and how can a daycare run with advertised as "high quality/STEM," but no integrity and moral values....We absolutely could not continue our child's daycare program there anymore. We continued our search again for another daycare and big thank you to San Gabriel Kids Klub and staff for being there for us since the very first day we took our tour. What we saw was night and day, compared to the previous daycare and were stunned that we didn't find this hidden gem daycare earlier. My wife and I kept saying "what a blessing in disguise" that we found this place after such a horrible experience at the other daycare. What we saw on our tour: - front desk greeted every single family/childs name. - children are all so happy - the teachers knew all students names, even if the student was not in their classroom. - all students were engaged in activities (not a single kid by themselves or a group of 2-3 by theirselves). - the teacher/student ratio was fair. - All the teachers engaged and were attentive to all the students. - My wife loves the scheduled program and Curriculum based for developmental skills for each age. - Staff is extremely caring - Diverse and Cultured - Private kitchen for entire school/cafeteria - Children's Restroom are separate from classroom - All students knows each other from all ages - Tons of different activities for kids - Easy to talk to and welcomes you with open arms - Respectful where rules around - campus is strict but fair to understand We love how all teachers work together and care for each students personality. They all take their time with the students and consider the parents, along with understanding how important it is to teach culture to all ethnicities. This showed me how special it is to be a part of Kids Klub. Also, they have 3 locations and have night and weekend programs as well. We love the flexibility Kids Klub offers, from different schedule of programs, to night/weekend care, to seeing Summer CAMP, to picking up older students for after-school care program. It's been over a year here at Kids Klub and our 3year old has shown so much confidence, knowledge, skills, discipline, speech (talks so much ), learned how to control emotions, the list goes on. This is an overdue, well deserved review for Kids Klub because we usually don't write reviews. We are so sad to be moving away from the area, and we hope to be lucky enough find a camp and aftercare that is just as wonderful. I cannot say enough about the the staff as well as the other families who attend- it feels like a little family. My two children love going and easily scamper off at drop-off and don't want to leave when it's pickup. The staff is loving, patient, kind, and have great communication, and the activities are engaging and fun. The hours of the camp are dream come true for working parents (7:30- 6 pm), and even when I get off a little early, my kids beg to stay til close to closing. The field trips are also great. The freshly prepared food is also kid-friendly but nutritious, and my kids enjoyed the breakfast, lunch, and snacks included with the camp, and it made it easier getting out of the door in the morning. We are grateful that our children were cared for with such loving care, and as they like to say at the camp, "Kids Klub rocks!" Thank you for everything Kids Klub SGR!

He attended a single 2-hour trial visit on May 12. He was so distressed by the experience that when it came time to return, we could not get him out of the house. We requested a refund on May 14. What should have been a simple, humane response to a family whose child clearly could not tolerate the environment turned into a 10-week ordeal. Brella's stated policy is credit only, no refunds. When we asked them to look at our specific situation, they pointed us to a corporate Refund Exception Request process. We submitted it May 20. They acknowledged it June 2 and committed to a response within 30 days. They missed that deadline without so much as an update. When we followed up, we got a holding email. When we followed up again, we got another one. Their final answer, after two months, was a 50% refund as a 'goodwill gesture.' We got back $1,648. Brella kept $1,648 for care our child never received. Here is what should stick with anyone reading this: Brella made a choice. A full refund for a family that walked in once and left because the environment was wrong for their child would have cost them nothing but money they had not earned. They chose to keep half of it. In doing so, they chose to spend two months adding stress and frustration to a family already dealing with a difficult transition for their child. They chose to destroy any chance of us returning, and any chance of the many parents in our circles considering them. All to keep $1,648 they did not deserve. The local staff we interacted with were pleasant. That is not the story. The story is a company whose policies and corporate response are designed to protect their revenue at the direct expense of the families they claim to serve. If you are evaluating Brella for your child, know that a single unsuccessful trial visit can cost you thousands of dollars, and the corporate team will fight you every step of the way to keep as much of it as they can.

As class parents we heard the concerns of the remaining parents in our class and voiced our collective concerns, only to be met with retribution from the owner. That being said, If you would like your children to go to a facility where the owner is okay with your child sleeping on a carpet that smells like a casino floor this place is for you. I was debating not writing anything but after spending time at other day cares in the area that take cleanliness and consistency seriously I had to share my experience. We spent over a year at this location with our toddler and during the one year there we experienced a HFM out break that impacted the entire class, yes the entire class was out for weeks. When one child would return even with no others present they somehow would contract the virus, we cited cleanliness concerns that were not addressed. We loved our first teacher unforunately she left after two months, from then on our experience with the leads was a merry go round of turn over during the time there. Every day we wouldn't be sure if our lead would be present, on leave or fired. Turnover is a huge issue here. Once, all of the parents spent a half hour at the gate locked out of the school when we were trying to pick up our children at the end of the day. They could not find their spare key so the children were trapped inside. And lastly after our families were all devastated by the fires, this location opened with a ventilation system that had not been professionally cleaned and carpets that smelled like smoke for weeks. They did not take their role in the recovery process seriously. If leadership, consistency, cleanliness and communication are important to you I would say DDP ranks low on the list of options in pasadena. There are better options down the street.

We were extremely satisfied with our experience here, the only negative for us in the earlier years was the high teacher turnover- which seems to be a problem in a lot of preschool environments. All in all though, Discovery Days fostered a very welcoming and positive environment. Our son is absolutely ready for kindergarten socially and academically.

The school also hosts special Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfast events that make families feel very involved and welcomed. Every year, the winter and spring performances are what I look forward to the most. I think it's a good indication that the children not only build their academic skills but also their self esteem when the principal related that a high school graduate recently came back to see their preschool teacher there.
