Hi Renee, I just wanted to leave my own review and tell exactly what happened because you're…read moreresponse to my mother (mary) seems as though you may not have gotten the full story as to why we felt this way! I was the mom who came for the tour with you guys, yes ma'am we did show up a little early for the tour in which I didn't think would be a problem because usually a well managed day care would make accommodations and prep accordingly to ensure a potential new child and their families would be taken care of but that is besides the point! When my child and I showed to your facility and rang the door bell to come in "Lisa" proceeds to crack the door and stick her head out while on the phone and says "umm can I help you" I simply responded with "yes ma'am we are here for the tour" she ignores me and says into the phone "hold on some lady and her child are here" I was taken back at this... I proceed to say again that we were there for the tour she takes a step back and looks behind the door to say "umm yeah it's at 5:45" I said "yes ma'am we are a little early" she then swings the door open for me to look inside and says "I still have all of these kids" and yes ma'am there was about 14 children left of ALL ages.. I asked her "is it just you" and she looks around shocked that I even asked that and hesitated to say yes.... We just stood there for about 3 seconds because I was completely shocked that this is how your facility is ran... she then points to a child's picnic table inside and said "I guess yall can sit right here and wait" i politely said "no ma'am that's okay, we will go but thank you so much for your time"! I understand we were early but shouldn't a procedure be in place for more than one person to be prepared to give the tour to potential new people or even you as a small business owner want to be there and give a tour and talk about your facility! I tend to look into things very closely when it comes to my child and had a bad feeling as soon as we walked up and rang the door bell and after leaving and seeing the reviews you already have on here I belive some things need changing and your first thing you need to put in place is either retraining your staff or look into replacements. Thank you for your tume

This place has infants to pre-teens all in the same room in the afternoon with only one person working in the whole building. Please listen to your gut feeling if you go there to see if its a fit for you. Your child is to precious to be left with people who put money over safety of the children. God bless!

Mrs. Lowry updated the day school's curriculum to include the development of each child's physical, emotional, intellectual, social, artistic, and spiritual capacities at age-appropriate intervals in a Christian setting and with an individualized approach adapted to each child's personality. When there is change some will prefer the old and familiar. Being a pioneer demands courage and perseverance. Mrs. Lowry has graciously brought and implemented the latest proven early childhood education philosophy and techniques in Gulf Shores. I support and applaud Mrs. Lowry's commitment to our community's children and parents and especially given the criticism she's processed during the transition. While she has gracefully accepted and heard parents that are not enrolled in her vision and some who actively opposed her. Mrs. Lowry has persevered. While critics may have touched her, she seems to have listened, taken what she likes and left the rest. She remains clear on her vision and thrives on the support of many. It's understandable that those who are angry would be most likely to leave reviews. All opinions are of value. I hope that by sharing what I believe is Mrs. Lowry's educational style it will help those who want a wholistic approach find their way to Holy Spirit Episcopal Day School.

From the very beginning back in 2021, the enrollment and advising teams were supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. They took the time to clearly explain program requirements, transfer credits, and timelines, which made the process feel manageable and stress-free. 2021 was the year I started my Bachelor's program while stationed overseas, and I completed it in December 2024. That said, I am due to complete my accredited Master's program by Spring 2026. CSU's online learning format is one of its strongest features. The flexibility allows working professionals, veterans, and adult learners to balance school with careers, family, and other responsibilities. Course materials are well-organized, easy to navigate, and thoughtfully structured to encourage real-world application rather than just memorization. I especially appreciate how the assignments connect theory to practical scenarios that I can directly apply to my professional goals. The instructors are knowledgeable, approachable, and timely with feedback. Many bring real industry experience into the classroom, which adds depth and relevance to the coursework. I've also found the academic resources, such as tutoring, library access, and writing support, to be extremely helpful and accessible. Although CSU is an online university, its home base in Orange Beach, Alabama, reflects a strong sense of professionalism and pride in student success. Overall, Columbia Southern University offers quality education, flexibility, and outstanding student support. I recommend CSU to anyone looking to advance their education while maintaining a busy lifestyle, both abroad and at home, without sacrificing their current employment.
