After getting off a long day at work, all we wanted to do was to get some quick information and go home. When they did give us the rates at the end of the tour, we were blown away. My husband and I both work at Intel. We are both blue badges with graduate degrees. There's no way we could ever afford this place. It does have all the bells and whistles, but kids just need somebody loving and attentive; they don't NEED a gourmet chef cooking for them. Just feed them lean meats, whole grains, and lots of fruits and veggies: it's not rocket science. Look, if the rates weren't so outrageous, it might not be so bad. I'm sure this place would have lots of good activities, but it's also good for kids to have plenty of unstructured playtime. This is how kids develop creativity. I would rather save my hard earned paycheck for paying off student loans, a downpayment on a home, or for retirement savings. Such drastically overpriced childcare has no place in the budget of 99.9% of financially responsible parents.

No matter where you go or what type of "program" a school says they base their teaching strategies on its honestly all about the teachers and WMI has some of the most caring and nurturing of people around. They are so caring welcoming they make your child feel safe while allowing them to be independent and respectful and have some ownership in their learning and school. The students- AMAZING. They are the most well behaved group of kids you will ever meet... And happy!! Because they model after each other and the teachers are good at modeling discussing/explaining reasons for why we respect each other and act the way we act everyone is happy and just respectful of each other. I had a friend tour who was weirded out and Said it wasn't natural to be this well behaved almost cult like... But it just shows you kids can be respectful playful well behaved little people if they are expected to be. The friend actually toured and did an "experiential day" with the school and actually has her daughter starting end of the month!!! The director- joy is amazing and really caring for her student.. They all love her to pieces. I will say honestly she sometimes is a little disorganized with parents (forgets scheduled meetings with parents from time to time) but never lacks with the children. I think she just has tons on her plate teaching/training/running and amazing school that things fall through the crack sometimes. She really wants the family to be really involved in the community which is great. She is also very easily reached/available and in constant communication with parents. The one negative that I can think of is they don't help wipe the kids if they are potty trained. They want them to be independent and do it on their own. My daughter has come home multiple times with skid marks because I just don't think she can reach that far. I have mentioned it before but not seriously talked to the school about it. Honestly though... There is no other school that I would trust with teaching the right morals and learning how to interact in a community to become fully functioning little people than WMI. You will not regret your decision for going....

We have a new teacher ms.Roxana and she very wonderful and great with my daughter especially now that she throws her little toddler tantrums cause she has to leave her mommy but they handle it with grace and offer to looks at the fishy's in the other room I love everything about this place they have good secured doors only parents can access which makes me feel very safe they also take erdc for anyone looking for that. They have been so accommodating to my schedule and the kids absolutely love their days at this school. If I could give a 6 star rating I would. There are some days that I pick them up and they are bummed to leave. The learning curriculum is top-notch as well. I trust every teacher there and I know they want the best for my kiddos. My son will be finishing up pre-k at the end of this year and this was the best launching pad to give him a head start in kindergarten. Thank you to learning years and all that you do!

The staff were kind, dedicated, and many of them had been there for years. Now, more than a decade later, my grandchildren are attending the same school, and it's amazing to see so much has stayed the same in the best possible way. The same owners and director are still there, and I still see many familiar faces when I pick up my grandchildren from time to time. That kind of consistency speaks volumes. Learning Years is truly a special place. The care they show for the children and families is genuine, and it's clear that their top priority is always the well-being of the kids. Unfortunately, due to the mass staff exodus the Pre-K program was cut with little notice and we were left with no child care for this entire summer. From Jan-May of this year we had numerous late night emails asking us to not bring our infant in for class, making it very difficult for my husband to work and for me to see scheduled patients. From my perspective, this is a salary issue. Employees at Cadence are potentially not being paid enough and are leaving for other jobs. Teacher Nancy, Chelsea, Zita and Liz, dozens of our kids miss you and will forever be grateful to you for sticking it out as long as you could. The food is another aspect that needs to be addressed immediately. I hope they are no longer serving bowls of corn (as seen in my child's photo on google review) or the ever popular "vegan meat balls" that the kids would frown at, weekly. I want to say Thank you to Teacher Mia and Vicki who made us stay as long as we did and who you should feel confident leaving your children with. HORRIBLE! I would not trust this daycare center for my child or anyone else's child. Go somewhere…read morethat truly cares about providing high quality personalized childcare to your child. I couldn't help but feel like the childcare staff did not know or did not care about what they were doing. Child hated it and we hated it. There were signs that the child was neglected in various ways. At pickup, child's nose was often crusty from crying and almost never wiped clean. Child's mouth was also not cleaned and frequently dirty from food; this caused a long-term rash\skin irritation\dermatitis around child's mouth. There were times the child's bottom was really red from harsh scrubbing; this indicates that a fecal diaper had dried and crusted after a long period of time of not being changed and they were scrubbing aggressively to get fecal matter off. Child did not seem to be happy in any picture provided. Child strongly indicated that they did not want to be there before and after every single day. After that daycare, child was constantly frightened of other kids being nearby. While attending, child had frequent night terrors and would not sleep well at night. Seems to be quantity over quality at this daycare. Choose anywhere else to care for your precious child! They will frequently state that the child 'ate all' of a meal or snack, but I have a difficult time believing that that is true. Our child does not 'eat all'. Also, I once received an update that the child 'ate all' of a snack, then walked in, and the snack was sitting untouched in front of the child. I took the snack home and took a picture of it. With every interaction, you get this awful sense that the bubbly Director will say anything to trick you into believing everything is wonderful or that she will take care of your issues. Director will say "Your child is doing well and/or child is bonding with so and so", but it is presumably to placate the parent. Repeatedly said they provide 2-6 pictures per day of your child - only one picture of child provided in the first week. ~5 pictures were provided over the next two weeks. The 2-6 pictures of child per day were not provided, even after complaining repeatedly. I am fairly certain other pictures were taken of child in the first week, but they were likely deleted and not shown to us. The app they use is complete trash - KidReports app has a 2.0 of 5.0 rating on Google Play. Did they use this horribly rated app because it was the cheapest option? Didn't have access to app for five days, even after complaining every day - it was not important for the parents to know anything about their child in the first week apparently. There was practically zero personalized communication about child well-being in the first week. We canceled after the first week, but they lock you into two additional weeks with their contract. They do not even ask why you are leaving. It does not seem to be important for them to improve what is wrong. Childcare staff rotate constantly - I saw someone different in the room frequently. The daycare staff rarely tried to make me and the child feel welcome; often, I would not know how to hand off my distraught child. They hired four new people at roughly the same time - probably a sign of staffing issues. One of the staff they hired is 20 years old; they do not seem professionally experienced. While the director was seemingly out, I overheard daycare admin staff telling the children caregivers what to do, and how to wake up the children from nap. This seriously confused me. Shouldn't the children caregivers know what to do? Are the caregivers that inexperienced/inept? Are your children truly in good hands behind closed doors? That same day, I picked up at 3:50 pm; as far as I could tell, the child did not have an afternoon snack by that time. Due to many reasons, I do not trust leaving my child or any other child in this place. Who knows what actually occurs here. I will never bring my child to another daycare center after this nightmare!

I have had three children now be with Kindercare, starting as infant through PreK. Knwing my child is safe and growing in their exploration of the world allow me to work without worry and be completely present with them when home. Communication about programming and our children is above what I could have hoped. Now that some kids have started older school, I have greater and greater appreciation for kindercare. I had two kids in their toddler room for 6 months, and then I pulled them out after being fed up. Now, after putting my kids in a different daycare I can see clearly how bad it was at Kindercare, I am still dealing with guilt that I didn't I pull them out sooner. Here is the good and the bad I experienced at this center. Good: - The outdoor space is big and beautiful with tons of toys to play with. - Teachers were really good at changing diapers quickly and my kids never got diaper rashes while there. - The front desk was always welcoming and greeted us with a smile. - There was always someone picking up the phone and they were always open to go check on your kid right away if you asked them. - They are not cheap but they have a good discount for intel or ohsu employees and they offer sibling discounts too. - They use a pretty nice app that informs you of the diaper changes, food consumption and photos shared. You can also message teachers and director via this app. - They have excellent hours that secure care for your little one even when you have a long day at work. Bad: - Generally the teachers were not engaging or showing much interest or affection to the kids. They were mostly standing around passively and often talking amongst themselves instead of the children. Sometimes kids would be wailing in the corner and no one would pay any attention to them. I witnessed this regardless of the time that I stopped by to pick up kids, or drop off anything for them. - The toddler classrooms are tiny! They have sectioned a big room into 3 little rooms that probably barely meet the min square footage per child. The rooms are always crowded and in a disarray with toys laying everywhere. They don't teach the kids to clean up and there were always (dirty) toys spread around on the floor that you would step on as you dropped off and picked up your kids. - the food is DISGUSTING. Don't be fooled by the menus they may show you. It may look good on paper, but first of all, the food served almost never matches what is printed on the menu for that day. "Fresh fruit" comes out of a can! Cheese and meat is processed. Bread is stale and white. Nothing is truly cooked there. It's all just thawed and/or warmed. I wouldn't eat any of that myself. - The kids were taken to play outdoors twice a day during summer, but even though we had a very mild fall and winter, but they did not take the kids out a single day from Oct to Feb. And after parents called to complain they took them out only occasionally when the weather was very nice. Their excuse was that some kids do not have warm clothes?! They kept the kids in the tiny tiny classrooms crawling around all day, and my boys would get horribly sick every other week. - They constantly move the kids around among toddler classes. We would always drop off our kids around the same time, within the allowed drop off time and around breakfast time and in their designated classrooms, but they would already be at capacity in that room and have to move some of the kids out to accommodate our kids. Sometimes they would take kids that were in the middle of eating their breakfast and have them walk to another room. It was always chaos and a lot of teacher/student switching once we arrived. - I had a kid that drooled a lot and I would give them extra bibs so they could change them out during the day, but despite asking a couple of times and sometimes even messaging about it they would forget and on his drooly days my kid would often go home in a wet shirt (with dry and clean bibs sitting in his cubby). -They had serious staffing issues and had to close their classrooms unannounced several days during fall and winter! Once they emailed us at 7am that they could only take 8 more toddlers that day, and first come first serve! Other days they would ask us to pick up our kids earlier due to staff being out. - There were also a lot of little less important, but annoying, things as well such as not removing the kids shoes for nap time, not being stocked with age-appropriate educational toys like legos, building blocks etc., not allowing food from home, they would play super loud music non stop in the evening, they tossed all the water bottles in a cubby all week and never changed the water or cleaned the bottles until parents pick them up at the end of week and clean them, they would not provide water to the kids during the day only at specific times (my kids were sooo thirsty when we picked them up because they couldn't speak and ask for water or they did and were ignored). All in all, while there are a few positives, I would never recommend this place to anyone who wants the best for their child. I have even heard teachers working at that center discouraging parents from putting their children there! That should be telling enough...

Today is our son's last day at KinderCare after nearly 4 years, and we are leaving with so many…read morewonderful memories and, honestly, a very full heart. It is hard to put into words how grateful we are to all the teachers and staff who have been such an important part of his early years. A very special thank you to Ms. Tristan, his Pre-K teacher. She is simply the best! What stood out to us most was that she didn't just focus on getting the kids ready academically -- she helped them become better little people. She taught our son kindness, empathy, patience, and the importance of sharing and caring for his friends. We especially loved her Friday "Toy Share" days, where each child could bring a toy from home and share it with the class. It was such a simple but wonderful way to teach generosity, confidence, and consideration for others. At the same time, she did an amazing job helping the kids learn vocabulary, Spanish, sight words, and so many other skills that prepared them for the next step in school. We could really see our son's growth and confidence throughout the year, and we know Ms. Tristan played a huge role in that. Mr. Jesse, who has now moved to a different center, has always been a favorite of the kids. I particularly took away the discipline that he imbibed in the kids. We also want to give a huge thank you to Ms. Megan and Ms. Anna, who were his teachers before Pre-K. They were always so cheerful, warm, and genuinely excited to be around the kids. This was such an important stage for our son -- when he really started becoming social, making friends, learning to interact with others, and becoming more independent. They gave him so many opportunities to play, explore, try new things, and simply be a kid. We will always be grateful for the wonderful start they gave him. And to Ms. Marissa, Ms. Joanna and the entire KinderCare team, thank you for creating an environment where we felt comfortable leaving our little one in your care every day. As parents, there is no greater comfort than knowing your child is safe, cared for, encouraged, and genuinely loved while you are away. KinderCare has been such a meaningful part of our son's childhood. He came in as a little boy, and we are leaving with a confident, kind, social, and curious kid who is ready for his next adventure.
