He loves to go outdoors in the natural play area. Recently, he showed off his ability to add "really big numbers" and how he's now sounding out words. CMC lives up to everything Montessori should be--hands on, self-guided, and collaborative. The classroom is beautifully laid out so the kids can move around, preparing snack or doing a big "work" on a rug. I would highly recommend CMC for anyone interested in full day child care and who believes in the beauty of a Montessori education.

Now, as a 5th grader we have transferred him to St. Joe's and we are sending my younger son (3) and step daughter (7th). I can't say enough about the teachers, the staff and the community of parents. They have welcomed us with open arms and we look forward to many years ahead. In his initial weeks at summer camp my son came home exited to learn for the first time in his life! I, like an idiot, assumed that Columbus being a far larger metro area than where we moved from, would have many Montessori options. Mistake. So, my research begins, and I call St. Joseph Montessori with high hopes. I explain that I have two children I am looking to enroll, one whom is Autistic and a little slow to learn some things but has always been able to keep up. They are happy to meet with us so I schedule a visit. We toured the school, met with some of the teachers, and discussed some of the differences between the Montessori we came from and their program. They even met with the kids one on one and talked about how sweet they both were. Now, let's keep in mind some things - this school is a) a MONTESSORI...founded on principles of Maria Montessori who famously taught those who were cast off by society. Her methods were meant for EVERYONE. And b) this Montessori is affiliated with a CHURCH. "Love thy neighbor...well, not THOSE neighbors..." After I explain to those I had met with that my son is Autistic, the vibe changes. My child, who 5 minutes ago was "so sweet and funny...really creative!" was now getting pity eyes and the stare. Then, the decision... "Well, now that I look at our enrollment, we are already committed to too many kids in your [Autistic] son's grade and sometimes make exceptions but in this case we just wouldn't be able to accommodate him. (Interesting...you had room when I called to set up the appointment...hmm, that's a mystery) But, we would be happy to take your typical son." I think y'all need to read that Bible again. While you're at it, look up Maria Montessori and what she stood for - THE REASON YOU EXIST. I'll say a prayer for you.

It's not a sit down show and at times we are asked to stand up and go investigate, ask questions about clues that the other tables have. Great way to get everyone to talk with the other tables. My husband and I went to the Murder Mystery Company for our anniversary meal/entertainment. We had…read morenever been to a dinner theater/murder mystery before - so we did not know what to expect. Our first impression was that the location was good, parking was great, and seating was OK, but cramped. We were seated at a table for 6 and ended with with 2 couples that came together - very nice people. The service was good - keeping my drink full and clearing our places promptly after we finished each course. I knew ahead of time that drinks were a la carte - but I did not know that gratuity for the meal/presentation was separate. My husband and I agree that all should be included in the upfront cost so you don't feel nickel-and-dimed to death. The meal was fine. My husband hated the salad - but I as a more ecletic eater enjoyed it. It was mixed greens with sliced fruit and a light vinagrette dressing. We both liked the main course (stuffed pepper for me and chicken for him). Dessert was rated good by him and OK by me (where can you really go wrong with brownie and vanilla ice cream. A French Vanilla would have raised it to GREAT, but it was OK - good). The storyline was a bit difficult to follow - since audience members could not necessarily be heard in their acting parts and were sometimes confusing in what they said. It might have helped to either select better "actors" or to include more of the storyline in print in the binders. The length was about right. I wouldn't have wanted another "scene" or "act." I really liked the fact that you could get involved and participate as much or as little as you wanted. We chose to watch and not get up and ask questions or interrogate the principal players. The couples at our table milled about somewhat by the end of the play. The mystery was definitely solvable. I won't give the "who dunnit" away - but as soon as it was explained to us who did it and why, I rolled my eyes and smacked my head - I should have picked up on the clues. Would I go again? Yes - IF - we went with another 2 couples that we enjoy socializing with. I know we'd have a much better time and be more engaged. As to the liquor license - as a non-drinker, I'm happy that they don't serve alcoholic beverages. I do think that this type of entertainment is not family-friendly and would not appreciate having children in the audience. We did not have any kids in our seating and would not have thought that it would have been appropriate for a younger crowd.

Heads up: New location and new name!…read more Previously known throughout Columbus as Glass Axis, now the Columbus Glass Art Center, is a non-profit org offering glass blowing and glass art classes to the general public, no membership needed! I went to their Grand Opening of their new building and the space, and it's fantastic! Ample space for several different glass art technique classes. The teachers I met are absolutely wonderful, too! Willing to help/guide if necessary, creative minds, and just plain genuine and personable. I got the chance to make a glass mosaic (think glass art to hand in a window) and a simple smoking pipe (torch melting glass and all!), and it was phenomenal! I'm seriously looking into taking a few classes; and, besides, I know my money is going to an excellent org that's promoting art, culture, and creative partnerships throughout central Ohio!

We unfortunately had a really horrible experience here recently, and I would STRONGLY DISCOURAGE…read moreanyone from going to this daycare. The management is extremely DECEITFUL and all about the money. They recently USED OUR ACH INFO WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION to charge us one month's tuition for our infant, who was going to start in August. She was originally suppose to start in April, but we had to delay to August given a health condition she was born with and recently had surgery for. After telling them about the delay, May 1 they withdrew one month's tuition from our account without telling us. They said it's mentioned in the annual enrollment agreement, which I realized it is, but it says it's due with the application (which we filled out in November). We were never charged anything or told there would be a charge from November to May. Yet, after having to delay my daughter's April start date for a situation outside of our control, they withdrew from our account WITHOUT PERMISSION the next month. They said it is their "normal business practice" to use ACH info on file for the older child (our son was in pre-k) to do something like this. We told them that we don't agree with their "normal business practice" and that having our ACH information isn't a blanket approval to withdraw from our account at will. Needless to say, the management was just horrible in this situation, and neither of our children will be attending Goddard going forward.

I tried for hours to correct these and was ready to go back to the store until my wife suggested taking it here. I had never heard of Third Hand Bike but trusted her and the reviews and decided to bring it here. From what I understand, they are a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers. They don't necessarily do all of the work, they help you correct the issues and understand the how's and why's. They did indeed step in and do a great deal of the work, which I truly appreciated, just as I did the nostalgic conversations about bike designs over the decades. I highly recommend this group to anyone needing bike repair and if you're looking to purchase a used one, they have several in stock.
