I promptly and reluctantly pulled my child out of the practice after nearly a decade of going here. This practice has changed its name and location a few times but it's still the same place. We wanted to leave when Dr. Hill and Yolanda left, but after many years invested we stuck it out. You will have great difficulty getting an appointment and forget getting a sick appointment. We were told on several occasions, first thing in the morning, that they could not see my sick child for several days to a week. So when I got tired of paying urgent care bills, I took her to my family practice and am happy with the change. I now have no issue with being seen when we are sick. This place has 1/5 stars for a reason. read more

I'm not giving any ratings for this place! My son had a appt for 11am on the 15th which is yesterday. I called as soon as they opened because my kid has been running a fever since Monday not to mention we've been thinking he has a ear infection because he's been pulling at it for a couple weeks I tried to make him a appt when we first noticed it well the 15th was the earliest appt they had‍ so I called yesterday trying to bump the appt up an she told me they only take care of sick kids towards the end of the day but let me remind you my sons fever was 104!!!!! An than they have the balls to tell me I can't keep my appt time I already had so I started flipping my shit an she hung up on me I tried calling again an nobody answered.. I've had nothing but problems with this place since my son has been born. We will never go back it's nothing like it was when I went as a kid. I'm sorry but how can you turn down a 1 year old with a fever of 104!! Kidzcare Pediatrics has taken over what used to be Cape Fear Pediatrics. My children have been patients at the former Cape Fear Peds for 11 years. This merger has been terrible for patients and families. Changes in staff, processes are compounded by zero communication from the group. I was forced to take my child to urgent care facility because they were unable to see my child for 4 days. Since then calls to the office and nurses/doctors have gone unanswered. I had to walk in to schedule an appointment for my child. This is not how you treat patients. Drs. Blackstone, Hill, Solanki & Pollock are you even aware of how your patients are being handled? Or is your concern with the financial benefits that came about as a result of this merger? After 11 years, my family deserves better and we will be seeking a new group that has not lost sight of the patient. read more

They prescribed my 2 yr old Tamiflu when he ended up being negative for the flu- the side effects are vomiting diarrhea and hallucinations. Also had many other problems with the front desk. They are rude and quite dumb. Witnessed them giving the wrong medical records with child's address to another mother. The place is falling apart, and smells like damp carpet. read more

Second experience / first appointment here today - this place is great. I think you'd have to drive an hour or more for better care. Do NOT take your children here. IF you can get an appointment,the wait is horrendous. If your child gets sick you are SOL, you will have to operate as if you don't have a doctor at all. Head to Urgent care or the hospital because you won't get in here. Pay those sky high bills because this office won't see your children. Doctors and staff promise to call you back or get referrals and never do? Negligence at its finest. read more

Was running behind but still got there before the 15 minute grace period but the receptionist argued with me and basically called me a liar stating that I was 1 minute late and couldn't see me until an hour and 45 minutes later even though no one was in the doctors office. I asked to roll the cameras back to prove I wasn't late and she said the cameras go to the regional office which should show they aren't wearing faces mask that are required. read more

I was happy to find Kidzcare Pediatrics in Wilmington for my granddaughter. We have never had any issues with scheduling appointments. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. read more

Terrible. The wait is long and it's always hard to be an appointment. You usually have to leave a message for someone to call you back to make an appointment....really it's a pediatric office! Doctor ordered a referral last week, nobody has put in referral a week later. This place is not professional at all! read more

The Office staff were strange, and not helpful. They have two people at the front, yet I am always helped by the same individual. They are just untrained on how to handle children or even adults. Dr. David Hill is supposedly all these great things, but he stated that it was normal for Doctors to have children completely undress down to their underwear to have their yearly physical. Neither one of my children were comfortable with that, but he did not care, he continued to undress my 5 year old completely. I am not saying he is some sort of creep, but in my experience with Doctors, they have the children wear a gown when they get to a certain age. Then they claim that my daughter has not had her four year old shots when I assured them that she had. Otherwise they would not have allowed her into kindergarten. I told them I would not allow her to have a double dose of shots. I just got the idea that the staff did not like children, or their jobs. They were all very solemn and the environment just had a creepy feel to it. I will be searching elsewhere for a pediatrician. Everyone is rude, uninviting, and just in their own world. Not one person said how are you doing, and they barely spoke to my children at all. My kids grandma says they were just worried about getting sued! Like they did not just make at least $1200 off of my kids today alone. Probably more than that. read more

My three kids have been patients here, in Wilmington NC for over five years. My three year old was circumcised by Dr. David Hill, he was very informative. Patient for questions on my behalf. Then over two years ago the merger happened and Cape Fear Pediatrics became Kidz Care Pediatrics. It is terrible. I assumed maybe it would be a few months to improve. It didn't. This year all of my kids are changing providers completely. Not only is it guaranteed to be over an hour in a packed waiting room. The front desk Medical Assistants are all rude. Not one seems to be aware of what is going on. Don't even expect eye contact from them. Not only is there no call backs, no communication, the doctor has changed. With three kids I have made several visits over the past two years. Each time my kids were seen by a Dr. Clara E. Escuder. She is very cold. Not kid friendly she sits across the room when she does enter, no engagement with the child. Then on her way out before you have a chance to ask questions. In the summer of 2017 my son spent a weekend in screaming pain. Cold symptoms. On a Monday Dr.Escuder seen my son, looked in his ears, throat ect... said "he seems perfectly healthy." "Maybe allergies." Less than 24hrs later my son and I were in the emergency room. Pus leaking out of my son's right ear, the E.R. Doctor told me it was sever swimmers ear. Then proceeded to scoop our the pus and prescribe antibiotics. All in all. It does not feel good to bring your children to any doctor, nurse, or facility that treats them as if they're an inconvenience. One star is more than they deserve. Dr. Escuder isn't even listed as a provider on their website. read more

I've been going to Cape Fear Pediatrics which is now KidzCare Pediatrics for 3 years. We used to love this office but this new merger KidzCare is AWFUL. Unanswered calls, horrible new staff, and unorganized. I've had to come in to schedule an appointment because I couldn't get a hold of anyone for 2 days. When I got to the office they had an opening with my sons Doctor in a couple hrs so we just came back in. After coming back and waiting, they told me my spot was with another doctor I said no that's why I came back because our regular doc had an opening. The girl apologized and she realized it was their fault and squeezed us in. I've been to the office 3 times since the new merge to KidzCare and all 3 times I've had issues. After the first issue, the next visit they forgot to call my son and my husband waited with him for 2 hours. One lady's daughter was throwing up in the lobby..the office staff came to help give her some stuff to wipe it up but I didn't see them sanitize the area at ALL..no spray, nothing. I was in shock and ended up telling one of the medical staff. The third I forgot my sons Insurance card and they warned me after 3 times of not bringing in his card I will be considered self-pay...the lady was super rude. They couldn't even give me a reasoning of why thats even a policy. I've never heard of such a thing if they have the information on file that has not changed. My husband and I are looking into switching offices but love our sons Doctor so it's hard. Please do something about the new merge. It is horrible! read more

We have taken my 11 month old son to this practice since he was 2 days old. We are currently in the process of trying to change pediatricians because of the poor service we have received. The first several appointments we had we were called the day prior telling us we had to reschedule due to conflicts with the doctors schedule. We understood because they were just starting the change over from Cape Fear Pediatrics at the time. However, they have had 11 months to get organized and it hasn't happened yet. Even trying to get my records transferred to another doctors office has been a process. They requested copies 3 times via fax, once by mail and have called several times. I called (and never received a call back) and finally I went into the office. I still don't have my son's records! To top it off, the place is dirty, not a place I want to take my child for his well visits. I liked the doctors, but they can't make up for the unprofessional attitudes of the office staff. read more
