    Celebree School of Canton

    Celebree School of Canton

    Canton Industrial Area

My son has been in daycare since he was 6 months old, and we've been to 3 different facilities. One…read morein California and two in Baltimore. I can without a doubt say that Celebree is our best experience. My son started at Celebree just a few months before his 2nd birthday in the Toddler room with Miss Martinique, Miss Zaire, and Miss Alyssa. After a difficult experience in his last school, we were all nervous but these three women embraced him with open arms and created a safe place for him to flourish. Within days of his start we saw a huge improvement in his behavior (fewer tantrums) and within weeks we saw an explosion in his language. We felt like we finally had a team together for his development. He had us at home and his amazing providers at school helping him grow and thrive, so we were worried when it was time for him to graduate up to the two year old class. We should not have been. Ms. Tammy and Ms. Shabria took the incredible loving foundation we had in Toddler and built on top of it. I've seen my son's language and socialization take off with their care. He LOVES school. When I picked him up yesterday he didn't want to come home, and as he grabbed his stuff from his classroom he ran into his old room to give Miss Martinique a hug. The best part of Celebree though? These are not one-off experiences. It starts with the school's leadership. My son knows Ms. Tameka (Director) and Ms. Patricia (Assistant Director) by name and gets excited to greet them every day. Every single teacher knows every single kid's name. These kids are surrounded by love and care at all times, and every parent I've met at the school has had a comparable experience. We could not be more grateful, and I recommend the school to all parents looking for a safe and loving environment for their children.

I am sharing a firsthand experience so other parents can make an informed decision…read more While my 2-year-old daughter was crying in class, I observed a staff member snatch a toy from her and throw it against the wall. I witnessed this in real time through the classroom camera. I immediately entered the classroom, removed my daughter, and requested to terminate our enrollment. The school did not acknowledge the incident or offer an apology. Instead, they stated that I acted aggressively, which I disagree with--I addressed what I had just witnessed and asked for accountability. If my behavior had truly been aggressive or threatening, it is unclear why no authorities were contacted at the time. This raises questions about how that claim is being characterized after the fact. When I requested that the footage be reviewed, I was told that the cameras do not record and only provide live viewing. Despite the situation, they have continued to charge tuition through the notice period. I have also reported this incident to the appropriate agencies and organizations to ensure it is properly reviewed. Parents should be aware that without recorded footage, incidents like this cannot be independently verified after the fact.

We started my son here at 8 months old and my daughter at 3 months old (they are now 21 mo and…read more6mo). We couldn't be happier with the care they have been receiving. The teachers here have treated both of my children with so much love and warmth, it is obvious from the way my son happily sprints into the center every morning, and the huge smile on my 6 month olds face everytime she sees Ms. Mo, one of her providers. There is very little turnover, and the same people have been taking care of both of my kids the entire time they have been here. They have a curriculum in which the kids are doing something new and creative every day (with music, art, dancing, sign language, stories, etc), and even though the center doesn't have its own outdoor space, they go out to the park and local playground most days. There is also a very large indoor gymnasium so all winter the kids have a lot of active space to run and play. We really felt that the quality of the providers was exceptional, and even though we got off of a waitlist at a center that was logistically easier for us and closer to home, we chose to stay with MVPELC because our kids were so happy there. They are both developmentally thriving. The manager is also very responsive and clearly cares about the children and her staff. We are moving out of state and will be very sad to leave, as it is rare to find places like this that feel like part of your family. looking on yelp I see a lot of negative reviews, so it may be helpful to note that the place changed management around 2017 or 2018. We started in 2020 so I can't speak for how things were under the old management.

The New Century School is a great concept but is hampered by the admissions office…read more The school grounds is spacious for city standards. The separate gym building provides space for birthday parties. They have a indoor climbing apparatus (a somewhat dangerous one), bounce house, and large gym blocks. The space is open and a good size space for birthday parties for smaller kids. For the school itself, the main flaw is the New Century admissions process. It lacks structure, there is one person in charge. The person in charge, DS, is "disingenuous" as described by the first review. Since she alone runs the visits, the applicants are selected based off of her own personal evaluations and thus, her preferences and biases. Determining which 1-2 year old is more qualified than the next seems like a great skill, until its clear she does not look below the surface. Great space for a school, needs new administration, and the administration needs oversight.

The kids spend a ton of time outside which is fantastic for little brains and bodies! As a teacher, I was impressed with the solid foundational skills my daughter received in her early years (2-5yo). That's why we are going back! Advice: Not every school is for every kid. Find the place you are comfortable with and that matches your style of parenting. Ask to visit places you're interested in and sit in the rooms.
