I've noticed a few negative reviews here from frustrated parents, which is unfortunate. While I can't speak to every individual situation, I do want to share that our experience at Primeron has been one of the VERY BEST we could have ever hoped for. In particular, the director, Kaela, has been responsive, approachable, and genuinely invested in building strong relationships with families. She has taken the time to listen to concerns, make herself available when needed, and even helped establish a parent partnership group (similar to a PTO), which has been a meaningful way for families to stay engaged and connected. Like any organization, occasional issues may arise, but in our experience, the leadership team has handled matters professionally and with care. Some concerns (such as those related to voucher programs) may be tied to broader administrative systems rather than the on-site leadership. I have great relationships with many family members, and have never had issues making my payments, via the Daycare Family Works app. We can tell that Kaela and the leadership team prioritize and value family partnerships: this is why they have connected parents together through family days, created summer camps, spirit weeks, and a parent partnership group. I plan to be a part of the Primeron family until my child ages out! Overall, we feel supported, valued, and confident in the care our child receives. I will start by saying that the teachers and staff are absolutely amazing. They were incredibly kind and worked well with both of our children. We had them enrolled in the Primeron for almost two years and never had a bad teacher. The rating is purely for the administration. Before the Primeron got acquired by Cadence Education, we never had any issues with the administration. We used a military subsidy and the director and assist director were always very transparent and helpful. After the acquisition, there was a change in directors and at the end was Kaela. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional director in all the schools my children have been in. Maybe she didn't agree with how the center was run prior to her arrival but saying to a parent that they were "lied on" and that the old admin "played in your face" is completely unacceptable. My main issue was when we unenrolled our youngest. Our subsidy payments were always late and as such we usually got back paid. Not an issue except when we unenrolled and had to get the credit refunded to us. I originally asked the assistant director to get our refund in the form of a check instead of original form of payment. This was because the original form of payment was a paid off credit card. We were informed only the director could initiate the refund as a check. It took weeks for us actually speak to the director as emails were not replied to and she was supposedly never in when we call. It took even longer to receive this refund and at the end, it was refunded to the paid off credit card instead of as a check like we asked. There was also disagreement and confusion as to what the refund amount was. We were different numbers from the subsidy, the admin at the Primeron, as well as a different number than what showed on our online account portal. While there was confusion and while we acknowledged that this was not anyone's fault, the director accused us of looking for more money than we were owed. We repeatedly informed her that there would be another subsidy payment and that was the reason the number we had was higher (we did not know that it had not been sent at the time). I asked that they informed us when this payment came through. All of that happened in September of 2025. Come February 2026, I called to get tax information. It was a surprise when we got our account summary and saw that we had an account credit of $1000. As it turns out, the Primeron had received the final subsidy payment in December of 2025 but made no attempt to let us know. Had we not asked for our tax information I doubt we would have ever found out. Through this process I asked to speak to a higher up, such as an area or regional manager, since the director barely returned emails or phone calls. This request was repeatedly ignored. Throughout emails, she only ever addressed half of the issues. For example, in our most recent conversation she focused on the fact that she was not in control of how fast we got our refund. When in reality the issue was the lack of communication and rudeness when we asked for updates. The way the director had addressed our family had been absolutely unprofessional and rude. It is unacceptable to accuse us of trying to get more money when we were asking for the credit we were owed. Furthermore to not notify us of the positive balance in our account for months after they received it. Again, the teachers and childcare workers are superstars and we loved how they were with our children. I wish I could use them again for care such as summer camp as it was an amazing experience for my children. It is a shame that their hard work is overshadowed by a rude and incompetent administration. All of my grievances have been relayed to the director but other families should be warned. I doubt that we were the only ones who had these issues. If you are a current family, double check your accounts and get your money. read more

My child recently attended The Primeron Odenton for drop-in care and we had such an amazing experience. From the very beginning, the process was so easy and welcoming. The administrative team was incredibly collaborative and really took the time to help me find the most flexible care option for my family's needs. The teachers were absolutely wonderful. They were warm, attentive, and made my child feel comfortable right away. It was clear that they truly care about the children and creating a positive environment for them. I was honestly so impressed with how smoothly everything went and how kind everyone was throughout the entire experience. Because of how great it was, we are definitely planning to come back for summer care. Since the new company took over at The Primeron Odenton, the transformation has been incredible. The center feels more organized, welcoming, and truly focused on the children and families they serve. The building itself is better maintained and the overall atmosphere is so much more positive. The director, Kaela, has been absolutely amazing. Her leadership truly stands out and you can see the positive impact she has had on the entire center. She is professional, attentive, and genuinely cares about the children, the families, and her staff. She is very hands-on and always present, making sure things run smoothly while creating a warm and supportive environment for everyone. The assistant director, Loretta, is just as wonderful. She is supportive, kind, and clearly dedicated to the success of the center. Together, Kaela and Loretta make a fantastic leadership team. You can tell they both truly care about the program, the staff, and the families they serve. The staff has improved so much as well. The teachers are engaged, caring, and focused on providing a great experience for the children. Communication has gotten better and you can really see the teamwork throughout the building. It's clear that the new management and strong leadership from Kaela and Loretta have made a huge difference. The improvements in the environment, staff morale, and overall quality of care are noticeable. My baby sister has attended the Primeron for the past 4 years and I am amazed by her math and spelling skills. She can spell kindergarten and first grade site words and knows basic addition and subtraction. The Primeron provides a safe and educational environment. The staff members are professional and loving towards the children and each other. My baby sister gets mad on Friday's because she loves school that much!!! Her teacher Ms. Stephanie is like a mom away from home. My mom has expressed how happy she is that she can actually work without worrying about the well being of our baby girl. read more

My 5-year-old child was attacked for 16 minutes and suffered multiple injuries while attending The Primeron. He sustained bruising and scratches on his face, around his neck, collarbones, and wrists. When I asked the owner, Arby K., to see the video clip of the incident, he said "no" and that I could "get a subpoena" if I wanted to view it. He described the video to me as being 5 minutes long (It was actually 16 minutes long), and that all of the children were "roughhousing". I asked, "Where was the teacher in this video?". He pointed to his eyes and said "We only have two eyes. She was present, but it is impossible to watch all of the children at the same time. We fulfilled our legal duty by having the correct teacher:student ratio." I told him that not showing me the video was incredibly non-transparent. Arby K. said, "Why wouldn't you trust us? Of course we're telling you what really happened. Children often don't tell the whole story, children lie. We deal with incidences like this every single day." Child Protective Services came to our house and interviewed us. I received an inspection dated August 6, 2019, which showed a "Non-Compliance" under COMAR 13A.16.07.01 Child Abuse, Neglect, or Injurious Treatment" as well as these remarks about the case: "A complaint investigation was made today. The allegations are that a child suffered multiple injuries that happened on the playground at the center. The specialist observed two teachers on the playground who were not adequately intervening in stopping other children from dragging, hitting, and hurting another child. The teachers were not positioned and stationed to observe children who were not within their sight. The teachers were subs that day. The center was reminded about the use of subs in the classroom according to the COMAR regulation of 13A.16.06.13E. The specialist observed a video of about 16 minutes where the child in question was followed, hit, pulled and harassed. The specialists observed inadequate supervision on the playground. The center was also reminded of the notification of new hires. They must not be left alone with children until cleared to do so. The specialist has pictures of the child's injuries. The pictures showed several bruises and scratches on his face, arm and neck. The CEO states that the child has had numerous write-ups regarding his aggressive behavior. This behavior has been brought to the attention of the mother. According to the director it is unclear how the interaction between the children occurred. The CEO stated that it is unclear in the video who started the negative interaction." The CEO's victim blaming (on a child) is inaccurate, as my child has never been aggressive. He is now doing wonderfully in his new school. The Primeron is a blatantly irresponsible and DANGEROUS childcare provider. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! read more

DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD AT THE PRIMERON. They do not have a comprehensive communication program for children when they get sick. Specifically, Their front office staff told me my child was exposed to the sibling of an infant that had contracted hand, foot, and mouth while at the facility in there care. When asking why weren't we notified about this contact. We were told "your child was not exposed." However, due to my child diagnosis, I would like to beg to differ. Upon us notifying them of my child's diagnosis, they attempted to act as if my child was the only case at the facility. Furthermore, we decided to withdraw our child from the facility due to lack of notification. However, we were still required to pay for the week in which our child was not in attendance (due to an outbreak at there facility) which is $295 in addition to our deposit of $295. Overall, we are basically out of $590, the attitude of the director at this facility Abigail Henne has been very poor this entire time with no real acceptance of responsibility. read more

To say that the communication and professionalism of the Primeron administrative is lack luster is a great diminishment of their actions. Over the course of a year the administration staff at the Primeron, when it has come to my son's care, have dropped the ball on reporting of issues with conflict in the classroom with other students, incidents where he hurt himself, and even when his lunch was taken away because of the peanut allergy of another student in another classroom (my son went an entire day without eating). We were never notified about any of these incidents, we had to call and ask about these after my son told us these things happened. The Primeron staff has on the other followed up with me when it came to having to pay for when I was five minutes late picking up my son due to major traffic accident, when my credit card information needed to be updated, and recently to argue with me as why it is that they are charging me full tuition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though my wife and I are also at home while school is closed the Primeron has been adamant about charging parents full tuition for students who are staying home. All while the administration no procedure in place to help children stay on top of their studies, the do not provide meals for children in full time all day care (currently with the school closures the county school district is providing meals for students), they do not have a plan for managing the facility (according to admittance from conservations with assistant administrative director Bethany and administrative director Abby) if it was at full capacity and they had to adhere to the current COVID-19 prevention directions. When asked how they would adjust pricing for parents who are at home with their children the answer from Primeron was to send out a memorandum that was an addendum to the current enrollment agreement, which does not cover . The memorandum was published without my agreement or signature. Again, when speaking with Abby, about the validity of this non-agreed upon memorandum, she passively dismissed questions and abruptly gave me the ultimatum of withdraw my son or pay up. Their actions have shown that even though they may be a day care facility, the administration does not care about children, only the parent's payments. Too many time Primeron has shown what their true policies and concerns are. Some of the faculty are great and do care, but it is clear, the administration is only about #COVID19MoneyGrab. read more

The teachers here are outstanding. They send home progress reports daily and seem to genuinely care about the students. They have a lot of activities and celebrations and my son really seemed to come out of his shell. They need to petition the county to allow for a way to get into and out of the area because the island in the middle is dangerous. read more

My son attended this daycare from 6 weeks old to about 16months. A few weeks back he sustained significant scratches over his eye that went down to the side of his face. According to the Director Ms. Abby the scratches were self inflicted. In addition to the scratch on his face he had a swollen middle finger. This was clearly not self inflicted being that it was multiple scratch lines that covered his eyelid and came down the side of his face. I had a meeting at pickup to express my concern. The Chief Administrator Arby Khan's immediate response to my concern was "we're not hiding anything." No empathy or sense of care but an immediate response of defense. The concern I express was this is the 3rd time there is a mark or scratch on his face there is never an explanation as to what happened and as a parent that is an issue. He then stated things such as "he's a toddler unexplained bumps and scratches happen"....."the teacher didn't see anything"......"the teachers only have 2 eyes and cant possibly see everything that happens"....I then asked to see the video recording, his immediate reply was NO. He then started making excuses as to why such as "it has selective recording" and that it would take hours to review and we'd be there until 2am to look at the tapes. He continued on to say that it's against policy and we'd have to get a subpoena to see the tape. Our initial thought was yes, it likely was an accident by another child but b/c of how the owner and directors responded my wife and I were concerned there was more to what happened. We had a feeling that our son was placed in an older kids room and was scratched by another child. There were two occasions where I would pick him up and he was in an older child room and we asked them not to put him in a room with kids that weren't his age. We were told that they would review the tapes and have an update for us the following day. The next day I get a call at 3:30 where miss abbey informs me she hadn't reviewed the tape but will have an update by 6:30. 6:30 rolls around and of course they didn't see anything. I then thought to myself that last night it would take 8 hours to review yet she was able to review with an answer in less than 3. The teacher in the room at the time my son allegedly scratched himself was Miss. Orzo who Arby said is their "best teacher." However, prior to the pandemic when parents were allowed back in the rooms for pickup I saw Miss Orzo pull an infant child by the leg closer to her. I immediately complained to the assistant director at the time who showed no true concern. She informed me that the director Miss abby would give me a call. There was no sense of urgency as I didn't receive a call until 2 days later from miss abby who said that they would remind teachers how to properly handle the children. Due to the daycare's lack of transparency, condescension, and breaking of trust my wife and I removed my son from the daycare. I would not recommend this daycare at all. Child safety is a concern, there is a revolving door with teachers, no communication when there is conflict in the classroom, and no transparency when injury occurs. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND- My daughter attended this school for about a year and a half. In that time she was injured physically by students multiple times, as parents we had to ask to even be contacted because in the beginning we weren't even regarding head injuries. Only at the end of the day or some times days later would we be notified. Ms. Abby lacks communication unless you call continuously or leave multiple messages to have follow up. My daughter moved to the kindergarten program at which time she was constantly bullied by another student for most of the year even after multiple asks to the administrator and teacher to keep him away from our daughter. Even after he unprovokingly pushed her out of a chair, he was suspended but continued similar activities and after multiple incident reports was never removed from the classroom. Other parents always had problems with this child and instead of making the class a safe place it was a place my child had to feel scared and had to defend herself. There are so much positive reviews for this center, but all I have seen is poor communication (unless they are inquiring about attendance), safety problems (keeping students safe in the same classroom), constant changed in staff, lack of care for parents and their concerns ( as seen by the feedback on every negative comment on here). I pulled my daughter after the last incident involving the safety of my child and threatened to call the police because the center wasn't keeping my child safe. I would not recommend anyone else go here. I know I will get a response on here from someone at the center with comments pulling the blame elsewhere and how my child also defended herself at the center but what most parents should ask is, as a business the concern should be why so many parents have problems with this center and so many injury reports, safety concerns yet the management never responds with I'm sorry you had a bad experience and I would love to speak with you further on your concerns so we can better our programs and center for future students. read more

My experience with The Primeron has been nothing but stellar. From the friendly front desk ladies and Director helping us through the enrollment process to daily communication from the teachers, it's been an enjoyable experience. For being one of the most affordable centers in the area, they offer a fantastic education and services, the building is clean and classrooms are huge! It is amazing how much they learn every day. Any time I had a question or concern, they handled it promptly and to my satisfaction. The also take COVID very seriously and require vaccinations and regular testing of everyone. The communication throughout the pandemic has been incredibly informative and keeps us up to date on any latest policies. I just can't say enough good things about this center - they rock! read more

This daycare has been a great experience for both my 18 month old and 7 year old who started in March. I was amazed to see how patient and understanding they are with my youngest since it was her first time in daycare. The daycare teachers pick her up when she enters the room, do not mind that she is clingy, and they seem to love having her there. She has learned so many songs, letters, and much more. Also, I like that there is a sheet that lets you know everything that occurred that day. My son who older says he enjoys outdoor play and snack time lol. I glad I made this choice! read more

I have been taking my child to Primeron since they started. They have beautifully renovated its facilities and it is a safe clean atmosphere. My son is well taken care of. It's always hard to leave your newborn with strangers for the first time. I was so pleased when I first came in to the Primeron with my 2 month old daughter and have been happy with their service every day since. They know us by name, greet us with a smile every morning, even though we are there right at 615, and genuinely care about my girlie! The teachers are very perceptive to changes with my daughter's mood/appetite and always document the day so I know exactly what she did for the day. A great tidbit about the Primeron is that they do activities with your babies like tummy time, play time where they give babies their favorite toys and even help them create artwork! I definitely recommend the Primeron for anyone who wants their baby to learn and be nurtured while away at work. read more

Unfortunately, after a couple years of great before/after school care, my husband and I decided it best to discontinue enrollment of our 11 year old. The Principia (formerly Kidz Ink) is located near our home and the hours are exactly what we needed. Our communication with the staff was adequate until the past six months. My husband and I are dual military and our child is familiar with child care centers. He hasn't complained about any child care center with exception to Principia. On his birthday (April 15) I picked him up from Principia and he was teary eyed. I asked him what happened and he explained that his "teacher" threatened the kids in his class while having each child twiddle their fingers until their parent showed to get them. I looked at the teacher and (admittedly) lost my cool with him. I yelled and demanded to get an explanation as to why he had my child "twiddling his thumbs" until I arrived. The teacher had no valid explanation. I went to the director for explanation. She seemed to listen and said it would be taken care of. Unfortunately, it seemed that there was reprisal, as the teachers no longer communicated to me or my child. The teachers made daily threats and infused fear in the kids as a tactic to get them to listen to the rules. I asked the director of the teachers who worked there are certified to work with children because it didn't seem as though they were. She assured me that they had the qualifications necessary to be hired at a daycare. I never received any academic reports/updates from the center, although they advertise how they have curriculum and even when we signed our child up for a summer math specialty classes last year. The assumption was that there would be a math tutor/teacher who taught the kids, but it was a staff member, with no certified math skills training. A big let-down because of the weekly rates we paid. read more

My husband and I started our 8 week old here back in November 2015. We had a great experience. The teachers really cared about our son. They took care of him, and made sure that he had everything he needed. He had a hard time sleeping there, and one of the girls would literally hold him just so he could sleep. This is the fifth daycare center I have enrolled my now two and a half year old son in, and it is everything I want in a child care facility for my child, and now I know he finally has a home away from home where I know he is in great care. I love the enthusiasm of his teachers and the Administration team is so efficient and welcoming to us every single day. I have never seen my son so happy at a center before, and he learned so much in just the first two weeks I was amazed. It was incredible to witness, even knowing they have an advanced curriculum unique from the "norm" practiced by the majority of centers. My daughter has attended The Primeron since she was 1yr 1/2. She started off in the younger two year old class and is currently in the three year old class. In almost 2yrs my child has grown phenomenally! At 3 she can already recognize quite a few sight words, she is spelling her name and even able to write it when tracing dots (along with the rest of the alphabet). Her vocabulary has also grown tremendously. The curriculum at The Primeron is a little advanced but I have to credit it for my child's major head start. Her teachers are friendly, reliable and dependable. The rest of the staff is very friendly and courteous too. Any issues or confusion that may arise are handled in a timely manner by management. I would absolutely recommend The Primeron to anyone in the area! The building is clean and inviting. Not to mention SECURE! You have to have finger print or facial recognition in order to get in. If the person at the front desk doesn't recognize you they will ask for your i.d. I've witnessed that for myself. Would definitely recommend, spaces go fast! read more

This school was just mediocre but very safe when my child started; basically a safe babysitting center. However, NOW, under the new management of Mr. Khan, this place has excelled to a very safe, and competitive learning center. My child is doing math, science, English as well as strengthening her social skills. The preschoolers have spelling tests as well as reading and math homework everyday from Mon-Thurs. I'm quite sure my child will test easily into a higher grade when she has completed the Kindergarten program at The Principia. I also have no doubt that this man will be opening one of the premiere elite schools in the future. All I can say is if your considering The Principia, go ahead and sign up! We are beyond pleased with the Primeron. As a new mom I stressed over where we would place our infant daughter while my husband and I worked full time. After viewing several other local daycare centers we chose The Primeron for their cleanliness (everything looked brand new), friendliness of staff and security features. Our daughter has now been there for over 7 months and we are still very happy with the Primeron. Our daughter started in Infant Room A and we fell in love with the teachers, they provided feedback on her day without us having to ask. When the teachers moved on to other positions we stressed but The Primeron management found another teacher that my daughter loved. When we finally had to transition to the next classroom Because our daughter was older I was beyond stressed but they took my concerns seriously and worked out a transition plan for this anxious mama. Several times I've picked up my daughter during the day or dropped her off and have seen a new teacher helping out (usually while one of her normal teachers is at lunch). I've been impressed that they know my daughter and have already interacted with her several times and can share a story. The front desk staff are also like this - they know every child by name and spend a few minutes to great us and ask how we're doing. I really do walk away with a feeling that my child is loved, well cared for and safe which is the best feeling in the world as a new mom. Kid number 2 is on the way and we've already reserved their spot. read more

I toured multiple preschool centers before touring The Principia. As soon as I walked in, i was welcomed. They have the walls painted beautifully and a great security system. After I left The Principia, I was sure this was where I would allow my daughter (4) to go. The staff is wonderful, I love that they are polite and knowledgeable. My daughter's teachers are kind and loving, but they also teacher discipline and manners, which is very important to me. I also love the diversity here! The way they handle kids who are allergic to food is horrible. They made my son, who is 4 years old, wait out of the classroom until I got there because kids in the classroom ate cupcakes and he could not. They are proud of the curriculum they have, which is academic skills focused curriculums however, what teachers do is to have kids sit there and give them print out then check it whenever they are done. No activity, more time for teachers. They do not need to spend time to develop play-involved activities because they got a ton of print outs found online and just give it to them kids. Very disappointed how they handle kids and how much care about our children. read more

My husband and I have had a positive experience with The Primeron. My daughter started in the before/after program about 2 years ago and my son began a year after her. My son has flourished since attending. He is speaking clearer and at 21 months can recite his ABC's and count to 10. The only issue we have ever encountered was the amount of turnover with the staff. My son had grown attached to some of his teachers that have since left and that was a struggle for us but he's adjusted. read more

My son who is 6.5 had been attending The Principia (formerly Kidz Inc) since he was 2 months old. Since Mr. Arby bought the center several years ago,the changes have been amazing. My son is now part of the before and after school program and he absolutely loves it. The staff assists with homework assignments and have the children sit and read quietly for a bit each afternoon. The children are also encouraged with free play time. All of the staff are very friendly and very personable. The summer programs (arts,science and writing)are also wonderful allowing children to learn more about subjects which interest them while also having fun at the same time. The children go on various field trips throughout the summer. I am truly happy with the center and know that when my son says he doesn't want to leave each night that this is the right place. I would highly recommend to other parents looking for a center with a high level of education and wonderful staff read more
