I came to Kiky Jewelers to create a custom eternity wedding band. At first, Kiky's first impression was good. The price was approximately $50 cheaper than the other jeweler I received a quote from, so I decided to move forward with this jeweler as he kept praising on his quality in work and prices. After reviewing the diamonds he picked up from the vendor and looking them under magnification, I decided to move forward with the process and left a $1000 deposit. I Zelled the deposit to the recipient "Bang" not "Kiky Jewelers". I was told I needed only 20 stones because of my small finger size and gave me the quote with the 20 stones and wrote that on a receipt. A week later, the CAD was finished but I was never emailed or forwarded the rendering. With someone in the design industry, I think it is important for someone to review the rendering first to make any adjustments before anything is casted. I received a phone call from him that same day. He raised his concerns on the depth of the band interfering with my engagement ring's gallery. This is something Kiky should have done in the beginning of the development stage. As he kept praising his years in the jewelry industry, this is a basic stage that should have not been overlooked. He told me he was going to cast a silver casting instead of a wax mold so I can try it on. I decided to go in person on the same day to clear any questions I had. That is when I asked Kiky to show me the rendering and he quickly showed me on his phone. Fast toward a couple days later, I get a text saying the silver casting is ready (this is on September 25). I go and try the silver casting on and it looks pretty good and fits. However, he tells me my eternity band requires 24 stones and the price will be slightly higher. He did not tell me an exact price and this topic was brushed off. This should have been cleared on the spot before the white gold casting was casted. Another couple days pass by (this is on October 4) and I go back to discuss another project I wanted to create with Kiky. On that same day, he sat down with me and told me that it will be an additional $765. That is a pretty significant price increase and I was told 25 days after my first initial meeting with him. I was pretty disappointed this was not brought to my attention in advance and I felt blindsided. He knew my band would require 24 stones and he knew how much more it would be but he told me last minute. As he kept praising about his number of years in the jewelry business, he knew how much it would cost. He gave me another option to go with smaller size stones which would be approximately $150 cheaper. I decided to just go with my current stones because of all the work that was put into the development cycle. We discussed the final price would be $3250, aside from the $1000 deposit I already Zelled. I text him on October 11 to check on the status. He said he'll get back to me the next day but did not get any updates. So I follow up again and he told me to come pick up my wedding band. I'm excited to go since it's been a month wait. I inspect my ring and it looks nice and fits well but with the inspection of a loupe, some of the stones are set slightly crooked, not forming a perfect circle. Also, wearing the ring for the rest of the day, I noticed some lint catching on the prongs. Once again, he kept saying his craftsmanship is better than Tiffany's, I thought otherwise. As he is calculating the final price on the receipt, I ask him about sales tax. I've brought jewelry from other places and sales tax was avoided when paid in all cash. All of a sudden, his demeanor changes and he starts saying "No no no no. That is wrong. You are wrong." (there is another review by Helen H that expresses the same scenario). First, you don't have to get defensive and start raising your voice at a customer. He could have explained in a better tone instead of getting worked up. Again, as he kept boasting about the number of years in the jewelry industry, you would expect him to be more professional in handling a situation like this. I wasn't trying to negotiate the final price but was thrown off when his demeanor changed for the worse. I wanted clarification on the payment method. I decided to use my credit card since I was going to be taxed by either paying in cash or card. Ultimately, I paid and an additional $3531.56 with NJ Sales Tax. The $1000 I Zelled to "Bang" not "Kiky Jewelers" was also taxed. He did not apologize for his behavior and when I told him this was the first time I heard this, he kept saying "No no no no. Wrong wrong." I don't think that is a proper way to escort a customer out the door when spending over $4500 on a wedding band. I will not be coming back for any reason as Kiky left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I went searching for an engagement ring online and went in to Kikys to see what the ring could look like in person and it was a great decision to do so. Kiky helped me to learn more in depth about the diamond shopping experience because he does have a GIA certification. After learning, I realized that what they're offering online are sub par diamonds. His on the other hand are distinctively better, and he will give a better price on the same diamond from online. He's very thorough and makes sure you're comfortable with your choices and makes it a point to not pressure you into purchasing. I also got a matching wedding band that he custom made to my likings at a cheaper price than online. He never once pressured us into a purchase, a HUGE plus! What we appreciate most is his sincerity and absolute honest opinion and knowledge of diamonds. We learned so much about diamonds, that we now educate all our friends. We tell them all the details about diamonds that Mr. Kim taught us....WAY more detail than any other jeweler we went to (mainly because all they cared about was a sale and not the overall quality and investment of a diamond). Since we were calling from LA and never got to see the diamond, we had to trust him. I don't know many people that would do what we did, but with the great communication, GIA report, and Mr. Kim's expertise, we finally settled on a diamond that we LOVED. There was a Tacori setting we were dying to have and Kiky was able to set the diamond on the gorgeous setting for us. He even made sure that the GIA number was showing next to the prongs so that we could inspect it ourselves with a magnifier when we received it (a little piece of mind to verify it was the right diamond on the GIA paper). We received our ring in the mail- certified mail of course. When we opened it.....WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! It was the most beautiful ring we have ever seen. We knew right away that we made the right decision to go with Kiky Jewelers. Right away we took it to a local jewelry place to verify the GIA number. The owner literally started screaming "No! Terrible experience for me. Went in to get my Breitling repaired, asked for a written estimate and they rudely refused because I didn't buy from them. Said my Breitling could be a fake although I purchased it from another authorized Breitling dealer and I had all the warranty papers with stamp and serial number, which the guy inspected. I ended up going to Laviano's Jewelers in Englewood. They were very professional and helpful, and they knew the correct protocol in getting an estimate and repair from Breitling. I had a great experience with Kiky Jewelers in purchasing my Omega Watch. They helped me exchange my old watch for a new Omega, and gave a fair and equitable price. Kiky, his wife, and Tony (the watchmaker) were all very courteous and nice! I would like to rebut previous negative comments and add that Kiky is Honest and Fair. He has a straight forward personality, and that works well for me. Tony helped me pick out the watch and sized the bracelet several times until I got the most comfortable fit. Tony was also pretty knowledgeable about how to use the watch and the mechanics of them Lastly, what I do suggest is that if you are interested in a watch is to do your homework beforehand because they are not watch historians. The staff will be patient to help you try on different watches, but it helps if you know what movement and design in advance.
