After visiting a big box store and spending many agonizing hours online trying to find a lighting fixture for my kitchen, I went to Kilohana Lighting in the Puhi Industrial park. I spent time with the owner, Susan, who helped me narrow down what style I would like, the purpose and location of the fixture, and wanted to know what I didn't like in style, shape or materials.Knowing that I was limited in my choice of fixture due to an installation concern, Susan had a brilliant idea for a workaround and even suggested an electrician for me to call. I am very happy with my choice, even though I was a little concerned at first about ordering from a catalog. Susan explained very well the type of lighting, the size, type of bulb and had enough actual product in the store to give me an actual visual of what I was considering. Replaced all my old ceiling fans. There is large selection to choose from and pricing was exactly the same as the Internet with the added convenience of being able to see the fan in their beautiful showroom. Today is Saturday at 2:55 PM on May 17. This is the exact time and date that the rude employee answered the phone. If you are going to be rude and unhelpful you should not be answering the phones to give your lousy customer service. My husband called to ask a simple question and was met with HOSTILITY. He ended up just hanging up wishing he didn't even call. At least this is a light bulb moment because we just bought a home and was looking to change our lighting fixtures through out our home, including the outside. NO WAY will we go to this company. These Chicks Rock! I went in with a very unusual problem with some dimmers, and talked to Susan. She immediately told me that the Ariadne dimmer I was using had some problems and recommended that I switch to the Diva dimmer (more expensive, so I was reluctant). However, she just gave me one to take home and try, and low and behold she was right on the money! I contacted the manufacturer Lutron and they swapped all of my dimmers at no charge, including faceplates! I was struggling for over a year with dimmer issues including flickering and power issues, and one stop into Kilohana Lighting ended up solving the problem! I also can not recommend enough Lutron products, and their customer service is awesome! I'll definitely go back to Kilohana again. read more
