I cannot recommend Robby Felix enough! I came in with a hair color disaster from another stylist, and Robby worked absolute magic. It took two sessions to get my blonde just right, but the patience, expertise, and attention to detail made all the difference. I have curly hair and a ton of hair and it's so hard to find a stylist that really understands curly hair and isn't intimidated. I get endless compliments on my hair. It looks bright and exactly how I wanted it from day one. Robby also makes such a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere from the start. It's so scary going to another stylist after having your hair messed up but from the start he was extremely detailed, knowledgable and asked so many questions to make sure he was understanding what I wanted even using examples of his own work. He was lifting my hair in all different directions and asking me where I would want to see blonde coming from. He is also able to articulate doing hair to someone who doesn't have the level of expertise he has which made me feel so at ease that I just told him do whatever he thinks looks good. I don't really buy products either but he didn't try and sell me everything which was great. He also recommended I get a new shower head that's filtered (my hair and skin feel AMAZING now) and sleep in a silk bonnet. His knowledge of hair care as well is amazing and I can tell he truly cares and wants the best for his clients. The way he treats his clients from the start makes you feel like you known him for years and I felt so at ease and maybe overshared just a little. He's extremely talented and enjoyable to be with which is so hard to find both when getting your hair done. From the moment you walk in you feel at ease and the whole experience is relaxing and fun. Despite being there for three hours it went by so fast. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about their craft and their clients and truly appreciates you for coming to him need to go to him. I've been going to Robby Felix since he was in beauty school, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. When he was in school I was blown away (no pun intended) at how good my hair looked from someone in school that I continued to see him during and after he graduated. Life happened and I had to go to someone else and my hair was brassy and stripey looking. I tried cutting it myself (big mistake!) and made it worse. Robby brightened my color, fixed my haircut, and brought my hair back to life. It's a work in progress, but I'd rather let my hair grow out and not look done before going anywhere else again. Other stylists I've gone to made me feel really bad about going to a different person. Hair aside, he's such a hoot to be around. He was so understanding and made me feel human which is different from what I'm used to. One thing I REALLY love is how brutally honest he is about what will look good on you and what won't and that's beyond refreshing these days. I couldn't be happier with the way my hair is now. He singlehandedly transformed my hair from dead, overbleached and brassy to lust worthy. He even styled my hair for my wedding in Santa Barbara! Horrible disaster Sophia Sahn! This salon was virtually empty on a Friday night and this girl Sophia Sahn was completely available. That should say something but I trusted the salon as it had decent reviews. I asked for an inch off and few layers in front. I thought who could possible mess that up. Obviously this person should be working as a dog groomer at best. She chopped all my hair off, Unevenly and a V shape which I did not ask for and is totally out of style. When I saw what Edward Scissorhands had done and gasped,"it's so short", Sophia Sahn pulled the little strand in the back and said, " look it's still long"! What a clown! I got a refund but this has devastated my life as my hair was my trademark and will be no more as it will take many years to grow out the 17 inches she butchered. I tried to make an appointment with Zoe. I called the salon, texted Zoe, and made a phone call. The salon said they couldn't help me if I want to work with Zoe. I texted the hair stylist -- no response. I called her -- she was screaming at me over the phone that I can't make an appointment last minute. I thought there were other ways for saying "Hey girl, not today. But we can make an appointment for the future." I believe the response lacked professionalism and it actually felt threatening. After the phone call, I let her know I was leaving a bad review and she threatened me with her lawyers. For what? I don't know. It was just an awful experience trying to make a simple appointment and such a waste of my time. Maybe this review can help the business with professionalism in communicating and leadership? One night at dinner I met this incredibly sweet handsome man named Taebastian at the bar of Mastro's and immediately had the most In depth conversation about life, what LA has to offer, and who him and I are as a person and ofcourse beauty. I've never been able to connect like that before especially with a stranger. Soon after I found out he was an artist of hair so I gave it a try. I let my head be in his hands.
