I heard about Salon Vida from a friend who had been Nuria's client for several years. Initially, I reached out to the Instagram account to inquire about services, but didn't receive a reply. I scheduled my appointment through Vagaro, which is simple and straightforward. It's a reliable service, and does a great job confirming appointments. Initially, I scheduled my appointment with Lauren, but when I arrived was serviced by Kaylee (apparently Lauren was out of town). I didn't care too much about being swapped stylists since it was my first time there and I didn't have a preference. I had a keratin treatment performed and it was the first time I had ever had one done. Kaylee did an amazing job explaining step by step what would happen, and more importantly, made accommodations to make my experience as pleasant as possible. Due to the smell of the chemicals, she opened the door and got me a personal fan so that the fumes wouldn't bother me. I really liked that attention to detail. The keratin treatment took a little over 2 hours and was $300. On Vagaro, it was listed ranging from $250-$300. They accept payment thru Zelle and Venmo. Nuria did say hello to me and it was wonderful to have extra care and attention while getting my service. I loved the results! read more

I was seeing Nuria for hair color, cut, and extensions. At first, I was getting the extensions from The Hair Shop, until she told me she had a better supplier who carried higher quality hair and to switch from keratin tips to itips. It sounded great, until she would re-do my extensions, not brush out my hair to remove the knots formed by itip extensions, just put them back in, and sometimes putting them right above the knotted hair. I asked her, more than once, who the extensions were made by and she ignored me every single time. I finally asked her assistant and learned that I was paying over $500 for hair she was paying $150 for at Superstar Hair & Wigs. She also changed the time for almost every appointment without consulting me. I also repeatedly experienced unprofessional behavior from her while talking poorly about other longtime clients, making personal comments about my body, and how she treated some of her assistants. Don't get me started on all the things my new stylist found wrong before she color corrected my hair, pulled out a rusted itip bead, and redid my extensions. This isn't someone I trust with my hair and find her unprofessional actions appalling. read more
