I first saw Marla at the recommendation of a good friend, who had participated in and loved her…read morereiki circle and training. I was at the lowest point of my life, as I was dealing with chronic pain that was taking a huge toll on my physical and emotional well being. Marla was like a ray of light and hope for me, and still is as I heal more and more. She is so gifted energetically, and her reiki sessions always leave me feeling less anxious, more soothed and in so much less pain. But more than that, whenever I leave a session with Marla, I always feel enlightened. She has a way of opening up a new perspective for me to have on old issues. She has helped me to re-frame some of the old, unhelpful stories in my head, which has been so crucial in my emotional healing journey. I went to Mexico by myself a few weeks after finding myself dealing with a severe flare. I was alone, in pain and panicking, and even though I had only just met her, I reached out to Marla that night so desperately, just needing someone to listen and offer compassion. I woke up the next morning and had a long, beautiful email back from her. She helped me go through all the thoughts in my head, and I felt heard and most importantly, not alone. I will never forget that - and I think it's really indicative of the kind of person that Marla is. I cannot recommend Marla enough - she is an absolutely wonderful, kind and caring soul. Oh, and she gives a damn good shoulder massage too.

Marla's techniques address your body's needs from the inside out. I know for a fact that I have resolved physical/emotional issues through Marla's unique ability to help me heal myself. A few years ago, I decided to become a certified Reiki practitioner as well. I took Marla's weekend course and it was a life-changer! In my opinion, there is no better person than Marla to guide you through that transition. Thank you Marla! The world is a better place for having you in it!

Maria embodies everything I would look for in an integrative healer and reiki practitioner…read more Between her decades of experience, an innate intuition guided by skill, and a deep passion for her work, there is a great sense of comfortability and security as her client. I received both an Ayurvedic consultation with Maria along with two reiki sessions. This was my first time receiving reiki and I was truly taken back. Following the session, I felt immediate changes within the body at a level I was not aware reiki could achieve. The consultation provided me with information that broadened my understanding of the physical and practices for a cohesive mind and body state. The level of professionalism alongside her ability to provide intimate care and compassion is unmatched. This degree of connection within a small period of time, is something that could only be obtained by a genuine and heart filled spirit. Thank you!

My husband and I have always had an interest in martial arts, but we could never decide where to…read morestart or which to choose from; there are so many distinct forms, types, and techniques. But luckily, Tasha has had training in multiple disciplines and has been able to condense and modify what she's learned to teach us the most applicable and efficient techniques of what we want to learn. We decided to learn together because we know that learning self-defense is beneficial for both partners, and being able to practice with each other will only help to reinforce what we learn in class together! We really appreciate that Tasha asks about specific scenarios or positions we would like to be able to defend ourselves against. Getting the one-on-one practice with her is also invaluable! She's always open to hearing our questions and showing us how to execute a maneuver. Tasha has been able to teach how to use our bodies, as well as various tools to defend ourselves (keys, pens, kubatons, etc) in a multitude of scenarios. It's so great to learn that we don't have to be armed to be able to defend ourselves. Also, it was so empowering to learn that anyone can defend themselves, no matter our size, age, or strength. She even taught us moves to use if we're in a dress or heels! One of the simplest, but biggest takeaways has been to have a defensive mindset. Learning how to think about safety in a proactive way was really eye-opening. Hearing examples or stories of how Tasha was able to use self-defense in a variety of scenarios has also given us more awareness of how to think defensively in the real world. The training that Tasha provides is more focused on how to defend in situations you need to, or how to disengage, immobilize an attacker, and then get away. It seems like other martial arts focus on techniques just to fight against an opponent in an even match or fight, not when an opponent has an upper hand or caught you off guard in an attack of opportunity. Everyone should take self-defense for at least their own sense of security. It can be because you feel like you get into situations where you are vulnerable (you like to run solo, walking to your car alone, going out at night, etc) or if you want to teach and/or protect a loved one in your life, it's an applicable skill no matter who you are. Tasha can teach anyone at any skill level, and learning from her is so easy and fun!

Tasha is able to teach a very well-rounded and thought out curriculum by using her experience of more than a decade practicingmany types of martial arts. She covers not only physical maneuvers, takedowns, disarms, offensive and defensive techniques for various dangerous scenarios, but also general awareness tips and best proactive behaviors of being more alert of your surroundings and strangers. Tasha is incredibly personable and helps to address the individual concerns of each student in her class. She is an excellent teacher for beginners and experienced students alike, and tailors each class based on everyone's knowledge.
