Great learning environment, school is extremely clean and the students seem to be happy there…read more Everyone was friendly and helpful. My niece is currently in the 6th grade and she absolutely loves it and is looking forward to her teachers in 7th grade. In addition, my brother plans on enrolling his son for the upcoming year in September 2020, as he was particularly impressed with the science program for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades and he and his wife met the teachers I believe January or February of 2020. He and I also received positive feedback of the upper grade teachers and the curriculum from from parents and students. The building appears safe and secure and the faculty is devoted to the academic well being of its students. The school also has after school choir and after care program. I would highly recommend the school to anyone looking for an excellent lower and especially middle school program. Doris R.

Very disappointed in this school for not addressing bullying. Both the bullies and those bullied…read moreare let down because bullied students could have been saved from those bullies and the bullies must now learn it the hard way because not every school ignores bullying. Awards and recognitions are based on whose child you are and how much their parents contributed in addition to the tuition fee and not always on the true abilities of deserving children. Again, this is not going to help the sponsors or their children because the truth will be out one day if not today. I am writing this review as a parent because no child should go through this ever again.

Bayonne, New Jersey…read more My experiences working here were pretty despicable, and I took for granted the importance of working in a stable working environment. The secretary who called me in was one person, then when I came in for a position, it was a completely different person who worked for a short while, then abruptly left. The second person that left for good was given very little acknowledgment by the director of this center, just simply said that they were probably at home, even though all of our paperwork was due to this person on a regular basis. Speaking of paperwork...the director said that she completely misplaced it, and it contained all of my personal information and banking info on it. As another reviewer wrote, picking up the phone was a real issue for this director, and there were times when it was nearly impossible to contact her at all, and there was no secretary for what seemed to be a second time in a very short time period, with no notice of what had happened at all, or what the new protocol, if any, would be. As a teacher, I witnessed a teacher who had burst into tears because the director did not allow them to go home after a terrible gas leak/incident had occurred at their home. This was tragic as well because we were not allowed or permitted to have any phones with us in the classrooms or center at all, which, coupled with the fact that the director had a really hard time keeping a secretary and picking up the phones herself, created a horrifying situation for this teacher, who had a really hard time getting in touch with family during an emergency situation. If you are not a family member, or related to members of the staff, or large donors, the director will treat you differently and more harshly, mock and insult you at times, and you will be spoken to in a different manner, which is deplorable, and does not resemble Christian ideologies at all. Also, bribery runs rampant in this organization from the top down, as does suggestive posts from childcare staff, who are supposed to uphold higher standards as people who are in charge of the education of children! As another reviewer noted, I would not recommend working here, and I wish the remaining staff the best of luck when dealing with this directorship. I do not believe anyone would be able to work in an environment that is not stable as far as working conditions are concerned, but also one that is accusatory in nature, with no real communication, understanding, or fairness in place. When a teacher is hysterical crying because of a real emergency at home, and the person who is in charge does not permit them to go home to attend to matters, then that is when you know it is time to throw in the towel.

They have curriculum starting in PS1, which helps the kids learn at an early age. They learn about god. I love that they have shows for the kids. It teaches the kids self-control and helps them overcome public speaking at a young age. It may be a little pricey for some but my child's education is well worth it. The teacher's work with you to keep your child progressing. They are truly amazing! I truly love the environment! They love and care for your kid as their own. I can't wait to see whats ahead!!!!

My kids just started here and I could not be happier with the community we have joined. Thoughtful…read moreeducators and visionary school leadership create an environment where kids thrive emotionally as well as academically. We want our children to be bilingual and we're thrilled that both have entered a dual language english/Spanish program. We also love that fact that this is an IB school that focuses on 21st century skills. Last but not least, the school hired a COVID consultant and reorganized the entire school in order to be able to have children on premises and meet social distancing standards. Although they do have a remote option, this thankful parent is thrilled to drop the kids off at real school every morning.

We visited a number of schools and sought the the advice of countless friends and family before finally being introduced to Pine Street school. We attended an informational social which gave us the opportunity to meet faculty, parents, students, and learn more about the IB program and curriculum - we were blown away by the enthusiasm of the teachers, the global exposure the students had, and the close knit community we encountered there. But it was our children's response that really informed our decision to apply as they were eager to spend more time with everyone they met that evening and excited to learn more about the school. Fast forward to today and we couldn't be happier with the decision that we made. Pine Street School truly supports the whole child: the curriculum is rigorous and engaging, and we visibly see how they are preparing our children to go out and make a difference in the world. Students go on more field trips than any other school I've encountered - they really make sure that they have an opportunity to go out and experience the world. It is apparent that the thoughtful approach to learning supports the development of our children intellectually, emotionally, and socially and we couldn't be more pleased. And they continue to impress us and exceed our expectations, especially during this unprecedented time where our children need more love, support and consistency than ever; they are the only school that I know of that offers 4.5 hours of synchronous learning each day while school is physically closed due to social distancing! Incredible! They have managed to maintain the academic standards and preparation that we've become accustomed to during this challenging time: it doesn't get more committed than that. I could go on forever but will stop by thanking Pine for continuing to reaffirm why we made the best decision possible by enrolling both of our children. Thank you!
