I suggest purchasing your food on the earlier side as the last part of the barbacoa can be a bit on the fattier side. A large package of tortillas runs $3.00 while the barbacoa is ~$17/lb. What I like about the barbacoa vs other places is that the meat is nicely marbled, with very little fat and good seasoning!

Lucky to be able to get a table for an early dinner date night on a Wednesday at BCN. Reservations…read moreare a must for this Michelin gem. Nestled in an old home, the atmosphere is upscale and cozy at the same time. The restaurant is filled with masterpieces that match the culinary artistry for which BCN Taste & Tradition is known. BCN...the airport code for Barcelona. So of course the food brings the delights of Spanish cuisine to Montrose. It also features modern Spanish masters in the decor. The complimentary bread service was a great way to start the meal. Since we don't eat pork or shellfish, they brought us a small plate filled with manchego cheese (my favorite) and small white spoons topped with the most delicious artichoke hearts. Thank you for the VIP service. What a great to start a five star dining adventure! We went for the Houston Restaurant Week (HRW) menu. Our waiter, Roberto, was great. He helped guide us given our dietary restrictions. He also gave us an art history lesson on the beautiful works that are scattered throughout the converted two story former Victorian home. You coukld tell that he and his assistant, Romy, love their "home." For the appetizers, the "Patatas Bravas BCN" is a classic. Potatoes filled with spicy oil and alioli. The perfect bite for a hot appetizer. We also had the beet-pistachio-raspberry ravioli salad. The paper thin sliced multicolored beets are magically filled with kefir cheese and pistachio oil to create beet ravioli. So delicious. The entrees were so delicious. The Grilled Duck Breast is served with sliced quince, Idiazábal cheese sauce, pine nuts and balsamic vinegar reduction. It is so beautiful and the sauce is a joyful explosion of flavor. My husband upgraded to the Grilled Lamb Chops as the Grandma's sauce for the filet mignon has shellfish in it. Thank you, Roberto, for letting us know. The lamb chops are served with BCN potatoes, roasted zucchini filled with eggplant, red bell pepper, onion, and a confit tomato and a side of garlic alioli to enhance the lamb. So tasty. Finished the meal with the crispy fillo dough and the chocolate cake in textures. The crispy fillo dough is filled with the creamiest Catalán vanilla brûlée and aged rum raisins. The decadent chocolate cake and chocolate mousse is served with a cute little ice cream cone filled with a refreshing raspberry sorbet. The perfect way to cap a wonderful meal. Since Roberto told us so much about the art, I had to visit the original masterpieces by modern Spanish master artists. Joan Miró. Pablo Picasso. Salvador Dalí. Paintings and ceramics that adorn the walls, the bookcases, the fireplace. Thank you to Paco for sharing the story behind the two Salvador Dalí pieces in the private dining room. A necklace for Dominique de Menil, who founded the Menil Collection, and a collage created to advertise pantyhose. Amazing! The attention to the fine details throughout BCN Taste +Tradition is commendable. From making sure that we were enjoying our meal to watching the waiters steam and iron the table cloths for the next guest, BCN definitely takes dining to another level. Thank you to Paco, Roberto and Rony for an exceptionally memorable dining experience. We've been to BCN and MAD. I can't wait to see what is on the menu next for another five star immersive adventure. #3000+1

The lunch alone makes me want to come back to try their dinner menu. I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. It was buttery and was smooth. The filet mignon was just so easy to eat and I did get full off of the 6oz. The lychee martini was stunning too. It didn't have strong lychee flavors but subtle enough to enjoy the drink. The dessert was to die for it was like a creme brulee dessert wrapped up in fillo dough. Even at the end you get a small piece of chocolate and that was also delicious. The parking is rough and you most likely have to do valet parking which costs $8. The bartender was very friendly.

All week during my conference, Shaye was working hard at the Starbucks, delivering great service, tasty coffees and navigating a broken expression machine ... and all with a smile! On my last day I got to chat with her more since things calmed down and despite (what looked like), a crazy week, she still had a smile on and was so nice. The whole staff was honestly amazing, Jennifer served my team and I during a VERY busy lunch rush and she navigated a 150+ crowd with ease. Abigail was running food out and had a bubbly personality and Rachel was also hustling hard during the height of a busy crowd! I really appreciated the whole staff here. As far as the food, I got a bagel with cream cheese everyday and it was perfect for a quick bite. My last day I treated myself to an omelette and it was a great finish. For lunch at Blake's I tried the chicken nachos and they were good as well. This place was always packed and the staff was consistently friendly and efficient while I stayed here! The overall vibe was chic and clean. I didn't get to try the buffet while I was here, but I did see several people enjoying it! Thank you!

Our server was not friendly and she seemed to be annoyed we were seated in her section. We ordered the shrimp kisses, which were yummy and had a unique variety of flavors. I then ordered the fish tacos. I was really disappointed. They were presented pretty but all three had a slab of tasteless, dry, very bland, white fish in them. I didn't understand this because the menu described the fish tacos as blackened and so flavorful, but they seemed to have no seasoning at all. Luckily, my husband ordered the Blackened Seafood Pot Pie, which although could have been spicier, he enjoyed it very much.

We pulled up into the MFA parking lot and came across this beautiful truck. Colorful, eccentric, and best of all CLEAN. We walked up and took a look at their menu. Tostadas, burritos, quesadillas, and tacos, and all looking heavenly. They had plenty of meat choices too, such as chicken, beef, and even carnitas! We grabbed an order of their chicken tacos (all entrees served with beans and rice), and we were AMAZED. The food came out quick and perfectly hot. The chicken was flavorful, juicy, and their toppings were so good! Our corn tortillas tasted fresh and the taco just melted in your mouth. Not only was the service quick and the tacos delicious, but the owner was SO incredibly nice. We spoke to him and his mother (who helped run the truck) and we were just in love with their kind, gentle personalities! We are obviously getting them to cater our wedding and do an updated review on their catering services. Since they are a food truck, they're not always in the same location. Just give them a call/text on the YELP phone number provided and they will tell you their location schedule, so you can hunt those tacos down!
