Great restaurant! The vibes were nice and just dimly lit. We went for dinner and had seats at the bar. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. They were friendly and would engage in conversation as much or as little as you wanted. Pretty much every dish was excellent including the free bread and pork sausage with olive oil we got at the beginning. Almond cake was great and would recommend you try their fried dough bites too!

Came here for HRW. I had a reservation on a week day at the bar since it was the only thing open at a decent time. We did valet which was $8. The bar is the first thing you see when you walk in. We got sat right away so I didn't get to see much of the place but you couldn't really walk around if you wanted to anyways. The ambience at the bar was nice and the staff were great. I did think there would be more decor around but I would describe the vibe as simple and modern. An improvement could be to have purse hooks. We were immediately given the HRW menu (which we were intentionally there for) but we weren't given a regular menu to see what food they offered normally which I was hoping to see. The menu I would say was well rounded with options to upgrade. They also gave us a slice of bread with oil and salt. I ordered the shrimp for my first course which was an upgrade. I will say this was the most bang for my buck. The serving came with a good helping of shrimp. My friend ordered the patatas bravas. Both orders tasted nice but I think I was hoping for something more with the potatoes. They also gave us the croquetas which were really yummy. My second course was the filet mignon. The steak was cooked to my liking and I felt was a decent serving size. It came with snap peas, pearl onions, and mashed potatoes. My friend got the duck. This was cooked well and was really tasty but there wasn't much with it besides the sauce. Final course was dessert. We got the lemon tart and the sponge cake. The lemon tart was probably the best thing I ate that night. The custard and the fruit really complement each other. The sponge cake was interesting since it was hollow inside with the cream being most of the dessert, it was good. They also gave us some dessert wine which was nice. Overall everything was really good and had no complaints but I do think because of how much people talk about this place and it being a Michelin star restaurant I was expecting to be blown away. My takeaway is that it was a good experience but probably just a one time thing.

Took the advantage of HRW2026 to visit the restaurant We had a party of 12 and service was quite nice , except for a small error that they forgot to serve the croquetas. We had to asked after the entrees were serve. Food was delicious and the desserts were the bomb.

Today my wife and I were having date night. The ambiance is perfect, the staff was friendly and we got to meet the chef. Mario was amazing and took care of my wife and I. He was full of energy and very knowledgeable. He gave us details of every dish and has his own recommendations. Hands down the best service I have ever witnessed and received in Houston. Mezcal old Fashion: 7/10.. balanced and a bit flavorless. Kind of hard to explain. Lobster & clam pasta: 10/10.. wonderfully seasoned and the best thing I ate regarding a seafood style pasta. The clams were not that good but the lobster itself was perfectly seasoned. Dragon fruit Gin & Tonic: 10/10.. a must try. I never drank gin before and glad this was my introduction. Crispy phillo dough: 10/10.. you must get this as a desert. Perfectly buttery, flakey and the vanilla bean ice cream inside is just chefs kiss. I can eat 30 of these things honestly.

Ambiance: Business casual with an upscale, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel as though I had been transported to another country. Service: A1. The experience was exceptional from start to finish. The chef personally visited our table to introduce himself and inquire about our dining experience, which added a thoughtful and personal touch. Our server Mario was attentive, knowledgeable, and consistently provided detailed explanations of each dish, enhancing our appreciation of the cuisine. This was far more than just a meal, it was a complete culinary experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Food: Spanish Octopus: 10/10 Lobster pasta: 10/10 ( I was not a clam, but the meal was so good overall) Crispy Fillo Dough, Catalan vanilla brûlée and aged rum raisins: 10/10 Drinks: Lavendar Gin and Tonic: 8/10 Lychee Gin and Tonic: 6/10

I came here with high expectations given the praise this place gets, but it felt completely overhyped. First, the setting was a letdown. The restaurant is basically inside a converted residential house and has zero atmosphere. It felt incredibly boring. To make matters worse, we were seated on the second floor where our view was literally just looking directly into another neighboring house. Moving on to the food--I was completely unimpressed. From the appetizers and entrées all the way to the desserts, everything tasted ordinary. Nothing stood out or justified the hype.

Suckling Ibérico pig "a la Segoviana" shoestring fries, and pineapple in textures

Absolutely loved BCN! The food was beautifully presented, creative, and full of flavor. The grilled branzino with bomba was amazing but the suckling Ibérico pig "a la Segoviana" was the standout. It was crispy, tender, and beautifully paired with pineapple. Warm, attentive service made the whole experience special from start to finish. A memorable Houston foodie experience!

An Exceptional Dining Experience That Feels Like Escaping Houston From the moment I arrived at BCM Taste & Tradition, I knew this was going to be a different kind of dining experience. I originally noticed that Houston Restaurant Week reservations were completely booked through September, but I decided to stop by around opening to see if there was any availability. Thankfully, the hostess was incredibly gracious and accommodating and was able to fit me in before the restaurant became fully booked. I genuinely appreciated the hospitality because it gave me the opportunity to experience what turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in Houston. The food was exceptional. I tried the ink rice with shrimp, which was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The dessert was equally impressive--honestly, to die for. It was the kind of meal where every course feels intentional and thoughtfully executed. The service deserves its own recognition. Javair at the bar was phenomenal--professional, attentive, and personable without ever being intrusive. We had some great conversation, and he even shared some fascinating details about the artwork throughout the restaurant. Learning that some of the pieces displayed were original Picassos was an incredible surprise and added another layer of sophistication to the experience. And then there's the ambiance. BCM Taste & Tradition genuinely feels like stepping outside of Houston without ever leaving the city. The interior, artwork, music, and overall atmosphere create something incredibly refined and intimate. The live music was especially beautiful--calm, serene, and perfectly suited to the setting. It created an atmosphere where you could actually slow down, enjoy your surroundings, and be present in the moment. This is more than just a restaurant. It feels like an experience curated around food, art, music, and hospitality. From the gracious hostess to the exceptional service, memorable food, stunning artwork, and serene atmosphere, BCM Taste & Tradition absolutely earned every one of these five stars. I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. This is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is over.

What an incredible experience. I would recommend using valet. It's a cute quaint house that turned into a restaurant. The service was lovely, very beautiful inside. The food was impeccable. Incredible flavors. I had the most memorable time. We went for our anniversary and it was beautiful.

my third time at BCN :) but this time for an early din din beautiful table setup with tulips we started with the dragonfruit tonic &gin (such a pretty drink, my go-to per usual) we ordered: - Cinco Jotas Ibérico ham and toasted "pa amb tomaca": 10/10 their signature - recommended by our waiter, very unique and light as appetizer - Beet-pistachio-raspberry ravioli salad, kefir cheese, and pistachio oil: v prettily plated - Bomba rice cooked in cuttlefish's black ink, grilled branzino, langoustine, and octopus: MUST-ORDER esp if you are a seafood lover. You get a bit of everything: charred octopus (so perfectly seasoned); grilled brazino with skin, and fresh lightly seated langoustine (u can taste the sweetnes of the meat) for desserts: we got - "Gypsy's arm" sponge cake filled with whipped cream and caramelized custard: my go-to always, very light and fluffy cream to end the night - complimentary 3 flavors sorbets (for special occasion) One can also order coffee to end the meal service was really fast, we were greeted and welcomed by so many staff extremely professional in helping us enjoying our celebration lovely and classic 1920s Hollywood home style valet is $8, but there's street parking also we would lovee to come back soooon~

This is a late review, I visited last year to celebrate valentine's day with my partner. I believe our reservation was quite last minute so we were seated at the bar but it was still very enjoyable. The whole place seems to be very packed and popular. Ambiance is very nice. When we arrived it was a bit confusing because it seems like the establish is in a layout of a house but it's so different and nice. I adored the inside interior so much! I believe out of all the michelin places we've been to in Houston, I've enjoyed the food here the most and I felt it was very worth the price. The service was nice as well and the person attending the bar was very helpful with any questions I've had.

BCN strikes again. They deserved the Michelin Star and it is definitely a must try Houston restaurant. Service was impeccable. Think I've said enough. This place is a 9.3/10. The intimacy of the small converted Montrose house extends to the explosion of Spanish flavors. It's a small restaurant that is great for a date, but the 10 top bar is my choice for a great dinner. Starting with the Ibérico jamón, which is an amazing dish I think everyone should try. Salt cured pork leg that is aged for years and imported. I would say that it should definitely come with more of the tomato puree on the side. Overall 9.5/10. Bomba rice was special. It's cooked in cuttlefish ink giving it the distinctive coloring with octopus, mini lobster shrimp langostino and a crispy skin branzino. This was a real treat. Rice almost has a meaty beef broth flavoring with a hint of seafood brine. Branzino was cooked perfectly. No notes 9.8/10. Lamb chop was the best lamb chop I have had in Houston. That's it. 9.8/10. Duck breast was different, definitely worth a try. I don't know if I would order it again, but it's not as tender as I would have liked considering the thin slices. The quince reduction block thing really turns it up a notch, but overall left me wanting compared to the amazing standouts of the other dishes. 8.5/10. Gin and tonics are out of this world. You will not experience a better selection of them in this state. My favorite was the Ginger and lime, but I tried six of them. All great.

    Lisa N.

You know a restaurant takes its gin and tonics seriously when it has an entire page dedicated to them. I always order at least two whenever I'm here. They're the kind of drinks you'll want to savour slowly, whether on their own or alongside a meal. Beyond the G&Ts, BCN serves incredible Spanish cuisine that keeps me coming back for every occasion I can think of. I honestly haven't had a single disappointing dish. The Ibérico ham is especially memorable and feels like the perfect plate to share on a date or with friends. Their patatas bravas are also among my favourite versions I've tried, and the octopus is always cooked perfectly, with excellent texture and flavour. I also never skip the bomba rice cooked in cuttlefish ink. It's deeply savoury, rich, and absolutely delicious. BCN is an easy recommendation, but reservations can be difficult to secure, so definitely book well in advance. It's well worth prioritizing during any trip to Houston.

Ask the Community - BCN Taste & Tradition

Is this the type of place where you could make an early reservation and just order drinks and small bites? Is there a bar area?

There is a bar area with bar seating. You can definitely make a reservation and just have drinks and appetizers. their gin& tonics are very popular! But they have a full bar and extensive wine list too.

How much is the whole branzino for two?

It often varies with daily/weekly specials and the catch for the week. Minimum $25, I think

IS it better to sit on the patio or in the dinning room?

I have always sat inside, and it's always felt safe

    Do they have mocktails?

BCN is fantastic and happy to meet everyone's needs. I was there last week for a holiday party, just let them know and they'll make the tastiest mocktail ever.

Anything on the menu that's not pork/shellfish/treif?

They have some vegetarian options yes. I believe on the BCN website a vegan menu option is posted if I recall properly

The sangria was quite strong, we also did the mimosas pitcher which I thought was a great deal for $30. I appreciated how we were able to get the juice on the side, we did the grapefruit option but they do have orange juice, cranberry and mango. We sat at the bar since it was pretty busy and we didn't make any reservations. Do recommend to take that into consideration if you plan on going on the weekend. The ambiance is loud, lots of chatting, live music. Natural lighting, great place for girls brunch, family birthdays. First date if you prefer meeting in the day. Started of with the chicken empanadas, a must try! The sauce on top with the sauce on the side was amazing, even without it the chicken inside is very much flavorful. Every bite is soft and I enjoy a nice flakey empanada. For the main entree first we have the "Pan Con Tomate" a very light refreshing dish. A perfect summer choice when you don't want anything too heavy or hot of a meal. Everything is topped on top of the bottom half of their in house fresh bread with chopped tomatoes, fresh herbs with what seemed to be like an egg benedict and fresh grated cheese that tasted a lot like mozzarella to me but it's actually a Spanish cheese called manchego. Really enjoyed this, would get eat again. For the second entree "Albóndigas Marroqui" a morrocan inspired dish. More on the savory warm aromatic flavors. Steamy hot, gives that homey comfort vibe, I could definitely see this as a meal to eat during the colder days. Flavorful tomato sauce with meatballs, I would suggest to dip the house bread into the sauce with the runny eggs just pairs so well together, which by the way I think it's also like an egg benedict topped with fresh herbs as well. Lastly the hallway with mirrors that leads into the restrooms, very cute to take selfies as you wait for your turn.

The crepe cheesecake was just the right combination and texture to finish a great night. The downside to this wonderful night was the drinks. The pear old fashioned was a bit watered down and the sangria is very sweet. We'll definitely be back with different tapas to try and drinks to stick to!

We had a 7pm reservation for two, and it was in a corner with a small table and high bar stools. It was very hot. We were sweaty, and I am normally very cold in restaurants. I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. The orange flavour was strong. The bread pudding, on the other hand, was very big. Although it wasn't pudding. There was a large piece of the bread in whole form. It was delicious. I did not taste bourbon.
