I came today to use a credit before it expired tired. I sat at the bar and found the menu interesting. I wanted to try the "Range Rattlers " & the Seafood Fondeaux. Fortunately, both were on the HH menu for a reduced price. The pomegranate Mojito was tasty light and refreshing. My bartender, JJ, didn't give me silverware or place a bar napkin under my drink, or the lady sitting near me. My food was out in RECORD TIME! I am impressed! The Fondeaux and the Rattlers were excellent. WORD of caution to those who can't handle heat, do not get the Rattlers! The jalapeños are fire! They come with ranch, after trying that I asked for Blue Cheese and that seemed to calm the heat and added an extra something. I can't say what, but it was nice! I ordered a NY Strip medium rare instead of rare like at prime steakhouses with a side of steamed broccoli. I also picked up a Chopped Steak with mushrooms, onions n mash togo mainly for someone else, but ate some late at night too. Both were delicious, well-seasoned, juicy and fatty to the right degree. My steak was also nicely charred well on top. For the most part, the inner redness was right for medium rare. The chopped one had a very tasty gravy, sautéed onions, mushrooms and mash. The somewhat earthy, sweet n savory flavors with the well-spiced, beefy ground meat went perfectly. The cool chopped tomatoes were nicely refreshing with the rest. The broccoli was very soft, tasty and juicy with my steak. Every piece was cooked thoroughly. Once we were seated, our servers Becky and Brian introduced themselves and started taking drink orders. In addition to the Ranch Water, I ordered the Rosa Paloma. This drink was excellent! It was refreshing and the grapefruit soda was so good! They brought out warm bread and butter for the table which was appreciated because I was starving. I started with the House Salad with Italian dressing. It was good, but there was too much dressing. Next time, I'll ask for the dressing on the side. For my entree, I had the 9 oz. Maudeen's Center Cut Filet. I ordered the steak medium and it was perfect. The filet was topped with butter and it was so tender and flavorful. I wanted to do a steak addition, but none of the options appealed to me because it was mostly shellfish or grilled mushrooms. I opted for mashed potatoes for my side. They were very good and of course tasted great with the steak. When I placed my order with Becky, I requested for a glass of red wine to be brought out with the steak. She suggested the Messina Hof Texas Hold 'Em Red Blend. When the steak came out, Becky soon followed with the wine! With such a large party, I wasn't sure if the wine would be brought out with my entree. The wine was soooo good and it paired nicely with the filet. I wanted to go to a steak house in Houston, TX. We decided to go here since it was close by my friend's house. The meal and tip cost $117. The place can accommodate a small or large group. The food was okay. I do not recommend the brisket queso skillet, it was extremely salty and inedible. The Caesar salad was drenched and wilted. The steak was ok considering it's a steak house. Our server was friendly; however, he said he would take off the brisket queso skillet from our tab but didn't. We also didn't see him after receiving the check to get it fixed. He did not come out for sometime so the hostess had to help complete our transaction. I didn't bother asking the hostess to remove the skillet because we had to leave and it took a lot of our time already just to pay especially since the barcode scan to pay didn't work. I don't really recommend this place because the service was unsatisfactory to okay and overall the food was salty... I thought Saltgrass was just the name of the restaurant. read more

After sitting 10 minutes without a waiter, I asked an approaching hostess to get a manager. She didn't. She looked at me like I wasn't from earth as she walked off. My date got up and found one. The manager never came over but instead sent a waitress that was telling us she didn't know who the waiter was but she'd take our drink order. Yeah great thanks. So we finally get a waiter who tells us he had been extremely busy despite it being practically empty since it was almost closing time. All I wanted was a fully loaded baked potato. Took my family to this Saltgrass because we had a gift card! I'm actually really glad I didn't have to pay my own money for this. We got seated right away in the back right section of the restaurant. There weren't any other people back there and immediately after sitting down, we knew why. There was a very foul and strong stench of mold and mildew and a general gross feeling to the whole room. We waited for a while for the waiter to see us and bring our water and bread out. I could not take the smell anymore so I asked what that was and if we could move. The waiter was very aware of the smell as well because the first thing he said when I asked was "yea it's bad, I don't know why they sat y'all back here". He moved us to another side of the restaurant and while it didn't smell anymore, it still ruined the whole dinner. My son did love the mozzarella bites and that was probably it. He ordered a chicken fried steak but the bottom of it was soggy like it had been sitting there for a little too long. My husband and I shared the brisket burger and it was fine, nothing special. Houston Restaurant Week is almost over and I just had to hit up one of my favorite steak restaurants before these specials end. Thirty nine dollars for an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert in my opinion is a GREAT price!! I chose to meet my friend here for happy hour because 1) they're participating in HRW and 2) happy hour doesn't end until 7pm. Almost immediately after sitting down, our server Charles, came over to take our drink order. He was attentive to our needs along with another server that made sure to keep the table clear of empty dishes. Before eating, I visited the restroom and came across at least 3 smiling and helpful staff members. One was even kind enough to circle back and hold the door leading to the restrooms open for me. I thought we had to sit in the bar to get the 1/2 priced apps and drinks before 7 but we were told that we could take advantage from where we were sitting. Great! So we ordered $4 frozen mango margaritas, tenderloin bites and asked for the HRW menu. The tenderloin bites were very tender and seasoned well. The grilled onions and mushrooms were the added extras just to set it off. The margaritas were good but they weren't strong. From the HRW menu, I ordered: 1st course- Range Rattlers (jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and jack cheese) 2nd course- Dinner salad 3rd course- Mixed grill (grilled shrimp, grilled chicken breast and pork ribs) 4th course- cheesecake with strawberry and white chocolate sauce After eating the salad and 1/2 of each appetizer, I had reached the point of being full BUT I just had to taste the "fall off the bone" ribs. This place gets crazy packed fast and because of that the wait can be brutal. The staff here are not that great but when it's gets busy they come in clutch. The food here is a lil salty and the flavors are unique. But you're usally used to certain flavors when it comes to Texas BBQ which I'm sure this place doesn't do that quite as well . I love Saltgrass, but this location is the WORST. I ordered a meal ($60+) through DoorDash yesterday, and it arrived in a sealed bag. When my daughter opened her meal, she found an unknown sauce at the bottom of the container that wasn't even the gravy that comes with the chicken tenders. Additionally, the tenders and fries looked like they had already been eaten. Would you serve this to your children? My salmon meal, which cost over $30, arrived with only five pieces of asparagus, and two of them appeared to have the tips bitten off. I'm not sure if this was meant to be a joke or if this is really the quality of service they provide. Either way, it's not a good way to treat loyal customers. This isn't the first time I've had issues with this location. I have previously found bugs in the broccoli from an order from this restaurant. It's a hit or miss with them--good luck to those who order! As other reviewers have stated, I suggest Meyerland or either of the two locations on SW Freeway for a better experience. read more

Both came out raw(ish) and very unappealing. Asked for the manager, she rolls up and I tell her what's wrong with the food. I said I'll pay for our drinks and salad. The kitchen is missing the mark totally today. She didn't offer to comp the drinks and salad. Terrible food and the kitchen lacks quality. Food is really good. We have been coming to this location for years. The food is still fresh. The service is good too. They come To your table pretty fast and our waiter that day was very knowledgeable. The ambience is good. They have improved since covid. We went there about two months after they reopened after covid and it was a little dirty and it had a weird smell. But it has gotten better. They can improve more I think because they have carpet in the dining area that makes it look old and it can give a weird smell if not cleaned properly. But over all I really love there steaks, my husband loves the burgers and the drinks like the margaritas are super good. read more

We had a disappointing experience earlier today at Saltgrass due to the way we were treated by a manager, and it really left a bad taste in our mouths--so much so that I originally left a 1-star review. But the situation continued to bother me, so I called the restaurant to share how I felt, and that's when I had the opportunity to speak with Zach. Zach completely turned things around. His communication skills, compassion, and professionalism were beyond impressive. He made me feel heard, validated, and genuinely cared for. He didn't just brush off the issue--he took the time to understand and address it with grace. Talking to him honestly made me feel safe and respected as a customer, which is all anyone really wants. Zach's handling of the situation far outweighed the original issue. It's rare to come across someone in management who leads with empathy and action, and Saltgrass is lucky to have him. If you follow my reviews, I always talk about my Pearland food scene woes. It was totally refreshing to come here and have a very positive experience from start to finish. The restaurant was busy but we were able to get seated almost right away. Customer service was awesome and our waiter was very attentive the whole time. I wish I remembered his name. Out of all the Landry's restaurants, Saltgrass has always been a favorite of mine. Any place that serves piping hot bread while you wait is a winner in my book. I don't think I have had any bad food at any of their locations either. I like their steaks and chicken dishes, but my favorite is the chicken fried steak. I am a CFS fanatic and they do it really well here for being a chain. Their sides are all tasty as well. The surprise item that I really love is the soup or salad they offer with the meal. The regular ole salad is always loaded with toppings and tossed with the right amount of dressing and it pairs so well with the heavy meal. Next time I was thinking about just getting one of their salad entrees. It's a chain, but a really good one that I will definitely come back to! read more

I just wanted to share my recent experience at the Pearland Saltgrass restaurant, I received the best service I have had in a very long time. I ordered the shrimp, steak and baked potato. It was great, the shrimp was little spicy but it was a good meal. The hospitality was truly Texas style, I even got a visit from a young man who wished me a speedy recovery from my broken hand.
