She asks a ton of questions not only to address your health concern, but also to get to know you as a person. It is uncommon to find a doctor with such a relaxed and warm bedside manner. She is an absolute diamond of a doctor. The office is clean and modern. There is plenty of parking all around the building. It is located right off 518 and is easy to locate. The staff is friendly and receptive. There is usually very little wait time. The office uses the MyChart ap to help you stay in contact with your doctor. Dr. G and her staff usually respond the same day or the very next day. You really get the feeling that she cares. She never makes you feel like you have a dumb question. She does not have the doctor complex that you usually see form other doctors. She is not only the nicest doctor I know, she is one of the nicest people I have been fortunate enough to meet. Dr. G spends so much time one on one in the room with you that there is absolutely no feeling of being rushed whatsoever. You feel like you are catching up with a friend more than talking to a doctor. I wholehearted recommend Dr. Gertieson to anyone looking for the last doctor they will ever need. Dr. Hoang is very laid back and has a great rapport with our little guy. Beyond that, he's great with calming down my wife and I when we've thought our son was having the worst cold the world has ever seen (it wasn't). They made me wait. At the end of the visit, it did not go so well, so I ended up looking for a new provider. I had follow-up questions about my lab work that were not answered until a week later in the portal, and when I had additional questions the doctor did not respond. Her staff weren't answering the phone. When I expressed my frustration, Scruggs wanted to know what I wanted to do when I stated I did not think she was a good fit for me. From the tone and words of her message in the portal, it seemed as though she had an attitude. I was thinking she is not going to make it in private practice treating patients like this. Now, I see she is coming out of private practice to work for Hermann Memorial.

I would not change my doctor for the world. The staff is wonderful and genuinely concerned about my health. At one point I had no health insurance (briefly) Dr. Sonia Eapen was there for me, she worked with me as a self-pay patient. She treated me with the utmost respect and gave me amazing services. Dr. Eapen reassures and always take plenty of time to explain exactly what I am dealing with when it comes to my health. Clearly no one makes any notation for when they speak to one her…read morepatients, they do not know how to read a chart, no one ever calls you back to follow up for when they call and say they will ask her about. After 4 days of playing telephone with her front desk personnel and her MA, I'm not sure it's totally Dr Eapen's fault why I haven't heard back from her. But to be given the run around every morning for almost a week, is quite pathetic. Being hassled by her staff and damn near harassing them myself is annoying. I don't know where the lack of communication falls inside of this place but it's never cut and dry. Everything is "make an appt" as long as I have been battling thyroid disease along with the many Drs that have had to join in to tackle my health issue, making an appt just to go over lab results or to discuss if I need to start taking my medication again, is Crazy to me!! Today I was told I had to make an appointment as she hasn't seen me since July of 2019!! Funny, she took me off my medication in Jan2020 which I saw her for, I leveled out in May 2020 which I saw her for and was instructed to come bck in 6 months.. Not only that, between her, my allergist and the eye surgeon, we have all been in communication with her office as we have been running thyroid labs all summer. Her staff has to be hurting her more than they are helping her business because she would be appalled by the things they have told me over the last few days.

I needed to get the third pfizer covid vaccine does for my 12 month old. The clinic I was…read morepreviously using did not have any openings for a while. I called this clinic and they said they could do his vaccine. I arrived for his appointment and the staff was all very nice and friendly and everything looked very clean. We were moved next door to another waiting room and they asked to see his vaccine card which I provided. They asked me why I was getting a third dose and I said because the Pfizer vaccine for infants is 3 doses. She asked me but who told you that you needed a third dose. I was kind of stumped and responded Pfizer and tx childrens told me...... She said I'll be right back and left with my son's vaccine card. At this point I am extremely unconfutable with having my son vaccinated here as they clearly do not even know the vaccine schedule. If she had not have taken the vaccine card I would have just left. So I waited a bit then she came back and said they don't have the pfizer infant dose. I said I was told that y'all did when I called and scheduled a couple of days ago. She apologized and said that they do not have it. So the whole thing wound up being a waste of time. So while everyone was very nice, there is some communication issues with their scheduling staff as well as some education issues. If they are administering vaccines, they should at least be aware of the vaccine schedule. I did really like that this clinic is smaller and it felt like you got more individualized attention versus other pediatric clinics that always seem overcrowded.
