I called this clinic and they said they could do his vaccine. I arrived for his appointment and the staff was all very nice and friendly and everything looked very clean. We were moved next door to another waiting room and they asked to see his vaccine card which I provided. They asked me why I was getting a third dose and I said because the Pfizer vaccine for infants is 3 doses. She asked me but who told you that you needed a third dose. I was kind of stumped and responded Pfizer and tx childrens told me...... She said I'll be right back and left with my son's vaccine card. At this point I am extremely unconfutable with having my son vaccinated here as they clearly do not even know the vaccine schedule. If she had not have taken the vaccine card I would have just left. So I waited a bit then she came back and said they don't have the pfizer infant dose. I said I was told that y'all did when I called and scheduled a couple of days ago. She apologized and said that they do not have it. So the whole thing wound up being a waste of time. So while everyone was very nice, there is some communication issues with their scheduling staff as well as some education issues. If they are administering vaccines, they should at least be aware of the vaccine schedule. I did really like that this clinic is smaller and it felt like you got more individualized attention versus other pediatric clinics that always seem overcrowded.

She took the time to isolate the pain and got the correct imaging done to show where the issue was. She prescribed an anti-inflammatory and Z-Pack to help take the pain away. My family and I are very pleased with the care that we get here. Everyone in the Office is great all the way from Dr. Hanan Hussein, NP Ramirez, the on-site Lab Tech, the receptionist and the interns that they use for vitals/background/demographics. Once I got to my appointment I waited in the waiting room for an inordinate amount of time, was seen by the practice manager who admittedly just moved to Texas a week ago. I'm not even certain she had any experience in practice management at all. I was spoken to in a very patronizing condescending manner by her. I was asked various kinds of financial personal information before even seeing any kind of medical professional. Then I was moved to another room and seen by the nurse practitioner. This is not a medical professional, nor a doctor properly instructed or schooled in making diagnoses of any kind. This nurse practitioner, her name was Carol Lin, inquired about all kinds of supplements that I have been taking and why I have been taking them even though all of my surgical history was pre-printed on a form that I provided to them all off of my own medical records. I received a token gift of a prescription bag so that every time I am to show up at their location for an appointment I am supposed to bring my prescriptions with me. This is one of those types of practices that has a little regard for the patients that they serve. The people that I have seen at this location are not professional and are merely office workers and administrators. I would consider them all administrators well-versed in how to operate within the Medicare system. None of them know the difference between Medicare advantage plans and Medicare supplement plans. I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT choose Oak St Health as your primary doctor. It was a very bad experience for me.

All I got was an egotistical administrator, who raved about working in the office for 9 years, that refused to even contact my insurance company in reference to an adjustment in a referral, which is what the insurance company told me to have my pcp do. Sad..I'll be changing pcp's once this ordeal is over with, because Dr. Hoffman herself is actually a good physician! Too bad her staff's ego ruined this relationship.. then again, I'm sure it's no loss to them, as I'm sure another patient will walk in, thus having them bleed another individuals insurance benefits.. steer clear!

My regular gastroenterologist referred me to Dr. Desai because I guess I have unusual anatomy. I went in for an ERCP but my regular gastroenterologist couldn't complete the surgery and called Dr. Desai to come in and he suggested he try and do the surgery again later that day. I loved that he sat and explained everything that happened and would happen to me and my husband and even allowed my husband back in the surgery room for a few minutes as he knew I was pretty nervous. My husband said while I was in recovery he came out and explained again what he did and actually gave him his direct number with any questions we might have later. Fast forward a couple weeks and I went back to see Dr. Desai as I still wasn't feeling well and he suggested another surgery but he explained everything and why I needed it and totally calmed my fears about everything. He has a wonderful bedside manner and really listens to you and answers your questions in a down to earth way. The office is convenient for me too, located on Blossom in the same building as my primary care doctor so that's awesome! I also adore his office staff! They are so friendly and they get stuff taken care of! I was going to a different gastroenterologist and I like him ok, but I'm not going back to see see anyone but Dr. Desai now!

He would not listen to me. I tried to explain to him that I was sent there on a referral for some very severe problems. I explained to him what I have been doing the past two weeks. They rushed me through my entire physical even though some of that was good feedback. What break…read morethe camel's back was that after I received my Physical reports through her assistant (Doctor does not have time to be concerned with your reports), I suggested to her assistant that I have a quick question for the doctor. Lue or Liu her assistant suggested that I should relay the question to her which she will relay to the doctor then the doctor relays the response to her which she will convey to me. This just feels so inefficient. I have no clue who this assistant is and why should i be forced to talk to her when I have a question for the doctor. When I insisted on this she said just make an appointment to come speak to the doctor. I would have been open to doing this but the fact that I do not have access to my doctor who is happy to charge the physical money to my insurance but does not want to call back her patients about the report or field any question related to that is absolutely unprofessional. Also the patient portal information has not been received after a week. Asking any one about that and they say front office deals with that, front office forgets to tell you about that.

The visit…read morealone cost $5200, five stitches cost $5200, the use of a surgical tray was $1350 (they did not give me the tray when I left), $23 for sterile water and $100 for wound cleanser. The total bill for getting five stitches in my ankle was $11,879. Thankfully, I have insurance which paid the majority of the bill. However, these charges are beyond outrageous! How are places like this getting away with such ridiculous charges? Surgical trays are reusable so do they charge every person that they use the same surgical tray with $1350? Disgusting!
