The first appointment went great and found my dream dress. However the second appointment left me…read morefeeling really discouraged about my choice. The lady helping me started asking really personal questions about if I was living with my fiance yet. When I told her no she was obviously judging me for not living with him before we got married. Which I just thought was crossing a boundary for someone I've literally never met and whose business it is NOT. I got a lace up back on my dress and asked if I could see it without the panel behind it (some brides do that) and she basically told me I shouldn't do that because "it would look like lingerie" and she kept calling my wedding a "Bible wedding" and like wouldn't drop it even when I tried to move on. Basically implying "how could you want to show your back if you are a Christian". Then she goes on to talk to my maid of honor about "no brides really wait to move in with their finances anymore" and she went to tell the other girl at the counter about our conversation in front of me while I was paying. She then made the comment "if your mom was here what would she think" and I was just like shocked. As if my mom would be appalled if I showed like an inch of my back line who cares. My maid of honor was also super weirded out. It was so strange especially since my first experience was so good. But that being said I love my dress and am excited to wear it! But I probably will not recommend to a friend unfortunately.

Since I was a sophomore in high school, I've been getting all of my formal dresses here. I think I've bought 15 or so dresses from them. Every time I go in, the staff is so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help me find a dress that matches my vision. When I can't find a dress I want, they take down my information and will often do research to find a dress that I may like. This level of intentionality can be hard to find. They do a great job of finding accessories to go with the dress. I usually end up buying a beautiful pair of earrings with my dress. I could go on and on about SSY. Maybe one day I will buy my wedding dress from them!

Still I'd exited to purchase a dress, made two payment through the phone and mg last payment in person, I owed about $300 , they tried to charge me $700!!! and told me they needed receipts to prove I made the other payments.. which thank god I kept! And once they realized they still stood there giving me dirty looks, and handed me my dress with no comments or expression.. no thank you or congratulations.. completely stole the magic of finding your wedding dress.

We were all there and the business was closed! Couldn't get ahold of ANYONE by phone the entire day! Still never received a call to explain or apologize! We waited to see if maybe they might have hit traffic and NOTHING! No call, no show---to make it worse we asked the business next door and they said we weren't the only ones who mentioned this same issue that day let alone in recent years. This is suppose to be an important event and big day for many yet this was just unprofessional and inexcusable all around. We are all grateful for it though...because had this happened later down the line when needing to pick up the dress let's say after alterations---total nightmare I imagine. I feel for any bride trying to get ahold of anyone at this location. THANKFUL for ELLIS BRIDAL for not only accommodating my baby sister on her special day but us all. She found the PERFECT wedding dress and had the BEST experience---we all did! It was meant to happen. We wouldn't have had this type of experience here!

To add injury to an insulting price, it was fitted badly, adult socks were provided for a toddler, his shoes were sized wrong, and his suspenders fit so poorly with his far too short pants that he literally dropped the ring because of them falling while he brought the ring forward! It would almost have been comical if we had not paid people good money to avoid such problems. The store's response to hearing they had failed to provide a professionally fitted suit? "You should have brought it back." Well we were forty five minutes away with a wedding in an hour. We trusted the job was done professionally and it was not. No apology, no discount offered; only a thoughtless dismissal. We paid them to do a competent job and they didn't deliver on that deal. No, that's not OK. Yes, fair people do refund money back in that context. But not even to extend the courtesy of an apology? Shameful. All that said, it is a newer location. Growing pains happen, especially for new operations. But it's clear that training so far is lacking. Will they improve? Maybe, that opportunity is there. Until a good number of reviews swear they've gotten their act together however, and quite possibly not even then, we won't be employing them again and our honest opinion is others should avoid doing so themselves. TL;DR: Until they get their act together, go elsewhere. ~$150 to suit up a kid, and then to do it badly? We should have just bought his outfit elsewhere.

My sons tux rental cost over $200 and after they measured him and fitted him his tux was still too tight. What a waste of money and time. Maybe this will help someone else not waste either of theirs.
