They have everything! Very helpful and friendly. Needed firewood, clamming license, and equipment for clamming. Got it all right here.

I've had good experiences in the past, so I hope my current issue is resolved satisfactorily. Fully…read morestocked lumber/hardware businesses are few and far between in my locale. I made the drive to Rosenberg's to get all I needed in one place for a flooring project. Scheduling a contractor is a challenge and after I did all the preliminary work a local builder fit me into his very busy schedule. Upon arrival he noted that one of the products I purchased was defective. I spoke to three people at Rosenberg's to learn that only if I returned to their store (50 minute drive) could I get a refund on the defective materials. They wouldn't take my word for it. I hope they aren't planning to sell it to someone else. The contractor went out, on the clock, to rustle up a replacement closer and threw off both our schedules. I will need to make the ~30 mile drive to try to get a refund on my purchase, but it may not be worth it. Waiting to see what it's going to cost me when all's said and done. I'm back to report that dealing with the defective merchandise cost me nearly $100. Making the drive to return that merchandise is inconvenient and the refund isn't worth the time and gas$$$. Beware.

Continues to be a bad place to shop. I stopped in for a simple part only because I was driving by…read morebut they not only didn't have the basic part amongst their selection, they offered their classic terrible service. If they weren't the only spot for 20 miles this place would not be in business. Also, they priced my friction tape at $1.99 but charged me $2.00 and called the penny a 'tax'. Sales tax doesn't exist in Oregon. They just continue to use listed pricing but ended up charging more for cash customers than card customers against all logic. A penny is petty but indicative of the underlying experience at Rosenberg's. Shop in Washington or Lincoln counties if you need basic hardware. Rosenberg is the largest hardware store in Tillamook and they are the worst!

I am now going to make it my intent to always shop at Ace South because I do not get the same good…read moreservice at Ace North. After having a very mishap purchase on Christmas Eve that did not go through and was canceled without my consent online, the manager could do nothing for me, but tell me to go to corporate which did nothing and left me back where I started an item unpurchased after all, I went through to purchase it in the store on Christmas Eve. I am going to go out of my way not to come back here unless it is something small and quick where I don't need help. It's unfortunate because I've come here for years since it's very close to my house and I have bought a lot of my gardening tools, my drill, my lawnmower and various items here to support the store, but they are not supportive of me. So I have chosen to go to Ace South where people are kind and understanding they don't laugh at you for your shortcomings on knowledge about Tools, manuals, or items. I didn't grow up learning to do handyman work. I've had to train myself how to do things. And it would be nice if I went to a store where people respected my learning process. However, I don't get that here. With the exception of one person who is very nice. I can't say too much about the other people. It seems they are very close minded and not open to trying to help someone. I've lived in the community over six years. I think I've earned my right to get that now.

Called and put on hold 28 minutes, only to be told that their hold system wasn't working (Nice!), and that the Assistant Manager was actually at lunch. (So I was waiting for nothing on a messed up line). They never called back that day or the next as they promised. We called back the following day to see if somehow service quality had changed. Sadly, it had not. They said we could bring it in. We're seniors with a compact car...We said we just wanted a refund after all of the problems with the machine and with the employees. They refused. They INSISTED upon scheduling someone to come out to look a the non operational brand new never used lawnmower. We don't want it now. We would like a refund. We don't understand why we cannot get a refund. We have the purchase order. They NEVER gave us a warrant card or manual (my partner should have made sure to get this but he forgot/didn't realize at the time of delivery). So that part is partially our fault. EDIT: Today they sent out a technician after I called them again to explain again that I did not want the lawnmower. The Assistant Manager said she would call me back. A guy called me back shortly thereafter and said he would be out in 30 minutes to pick up the lawnmower. I am grateful that this situation was resolved to our satisfaction and we appreciate the courtesy of the guy who picked up the lawnmower. He was very friendly.

I absolutely love the Ace store South specifically. They are so polite and kind. I have never been…read moretreated rudely here and I have only beautiful things to say about Melissa the store manager. The other day I made an online order on the Ace online, which was giving me a lot of trouble. I went into the North store where my order got more screwed up. No one took care of it there and they were incredibly rude making faces and gestures, as if I did not understand what was going on then after it was all screwed up and the order didn't go through the manager basically told me to call corporate, which did no good. I then called Melissa because I know her through her husband and they are just beautiful people all around. She took care of the problem completely the day after Christmas because she knew I had rushed to the North store the day before Christmas desperate to get the sale item when the store was closing at 3 PM. So here she was taking care of an issue from another store that should've been taken care of it self. Again, every time I've been there, everybody is lovely. I love talking to Debbie. She has helped me with items and taking so much time with me to teach me to be able to do things I need to do. Being a woman it's not the easiest thing in the world learning how to do your own handyman work and understand how to use tools and devices. But it should be respected and Encouraged as well as understood that we are living in a difficult time where people now have to do a lot of their own work. I will continue to shop at the South store as long as I live here. I wish I could say the same about the North but I can't. They always make me feel unwelcome and seem to laugh at my shortcomings with knowledge about items. They seem to go out of their way to say no and can't return anything so I will stick with Ace South. I'm so glad at least I have them to go to.

And that's when the good ends. 1st they Sold me a delta faucet with missing pieces, that I only found out when installing, so with my plumber on the clock, I had to drive from my Dallas home in the middle of my project, to their store Salem, then when Saffron didn't have the parts, I had go across town to get from another store. Not a big deal. When first buying the faucet, I mentioned I had other plumbing projects to do, they said they would have someone contact me to give a bid. Later Brent Hunt from Saffron called, set a time, we met. Spent an hour going over my property, describing what I needed, and I drew him maps as the project involved 3 wells on 6 acres. He got back to me later with a bid that said it included all labor and materials for what we talked about, but it wasn't itemized or detailed. (My mistake not requesting a break down) but it did say all labor and materials. I agreed to the bid, we set a date. Days before the start date, Brent texts asking if I wanted a hydrant in a different location than I showed him. I said no, told him to refer to the map we gave him. He then said that he may have under estimated the pipe needed and there may be "extra" costs. But the bid said "all labor and materials" included. The workers showed up on the start day, nice young men, and started telling me what their plan was for the day. 1st thing was to clean my 2000 gallon water tank, and then they would cut out my concrete pad. I said that Brent told me they would horizontal drill under the pad, as I didn't want it cut up, and they said that's not what they do. I told them to hold off on that and I would call Brent. I said they could start the cleaning and maybe work on separating the two water sources that both feed that tank, they said they couldn't do that either, as it would require a new pump and pressure tank. I said wait on that I'll call Brent. I went inside my home to call Brent, who immediately said I was wrong, that we didn't talk about horizontal drilling, and that's why he wanted to put my hydrant in a different spot?!? The out and out lies, the completely unprofessional bid, the omission of any details so he could add charges later! I said never mind the work. Tell your crew to leave. I then went to the crew, told them what had transpired and that we wouldn't be using their services, and they said they had already added the cleaner to my water. I asked how long and what charges I would get for the tank cleaning, they said 2 hours plus the cleaner. I agreed and went inside. Brent called them, told them to leave then, with the cleaner still in my water supply, effectively preventing us from using our water. This isn't ok. No one should be held hostage by poorly written bids that imply a scope of work that the service provider changed based on their wants. I will be investigating legal options. At the very least, I hope this helps other avoid a company that don't care about their clients. Maybe that's why they recently had to change their CCB number.
