I am now going to make it my intent to always shop at Ace South because I do not get the same good service at Ace North. After having a very mishap purchase on Christmas Eve that did not go through and was canceled without my consent online, the manager could do nothing for me, but tell me to go to corporate which did nothing and left me back where I started an item unpurchased after all, I went through to purchase it in the store on Christmas Eve. I am going to go out of my way not to come back here unless it is something small and quick where I don't need help. It's unfortunate because I've come here for years since it's very close to my house and I have bought a lot of my gardening tools, my drill, my lawnmower and various items here to support the store, but they are not supportive of me. So I have chosen to go to Ace South where people are kind and understanding they don't laugh at you for your shortcomings on knowledge about Tools, manuals, or items. I didn't grow up learning to do handyman work. I've had to train myself how to do things. And it would be nice if I went to a store where people respected my learning process. However, I don't get that here. With the exception of one person who is very nice. I can't say too much about the other people. It seems they are very close minded and not open to trying to help someone. I've lived in the community over six years. I think I've earned my right to get that now. read more

A couple of girlfriends & I stayed in Lincoln City April 13-15. On Tuesday, the 14th, our driver, Kathy Heichel, got a warning that her Honda key fob battery was low. We were referred to this hardware store (by a very helpful gentleman Power Ford), and 3-4 staff members went out of their way to help, including replacing the battery & showing her how to do so for future references! Normally I love going to this or the south store in LC. I have not been treated so rudely as I was by a check register staff named Angela today at the north store. She was very very rude to me today. Uncalled for. I feel she has very poor customer service skills. Usually this store has very nice and cooperative and helpful staff with great attitudes, including the manager Ben who today was also nice to speak with me and thumbs up for the rest of their staff. But this Angela is the rudest person I've ever encountered at either Ace store over the past 15 years of shopping at both locations. This kind of rudeness makes the shopping experience go from a good one to a very bad one. read more

I love this local neighborhood hardware store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked for anything you may need for your home. The paint department is helpful with selecting and mixing paint, plus they keep what you bought on file for the next time you need the same color. Great store and staff! read more

I will never shop at a place where they think it is ok for a supervisor to bully, belittle, and scream at their employees in front of guest? NOT COOL!!!!! I will not EVER shop at a business that does this toxic behavior to their employees. I DO NOT put up with or stand there and watch anyone bullying someone else. I am not only disappointed, but I am disgusted with what I witnessed today at this Ace Hardward store. We asked a very nice lady named Debra for help today to get me down a screwdriver set that I wanted to buy. Debra 100% was awesome and completely helpful in which one I choose to buy. She deserves a raise, especially how she was treated today. Well apparently she was having a hard time putting something back up away or lock something back up that I had looked at, the next thing I know another Ace Hardware employee pretty sure he is a supervisor but his name is Sailor. Not only did Sailor belittle Debra, he yelled at her on how she was doing it wrong and she should have asked for help. She told him she was fine that she had it and didn't need help, which Sailor continued to belittle her in front of me, my wife and 4 other customers that were there this morning. THIS IS UNEXEPTABLE and unprofessional. SAILOR should not be allowed to EVER bully an employee, and I will not support a business who thinks this is ok. read more

We recently moved to the coast and bought a fixer-upper house. It's a bit tough, not having a big box store around, but we needed a few things and went to the Ace Hardware. Well, that was a big surprise. They had everything we needed and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They cut some paneling and sheet rock so it would fit in the car - awesome! Recently relocated to the coast and have had numerous opportunities to head to Ace North for building and gardening supplies. There are numerous reasons why this Ace sets itself apart from any other hardware store exeriences I have had in my 68+ years in Oregon! This Ace seems to always have more employees on staff than the size of the store or the traffic would require. Then again...maybe I have become accustomed to big box home improvement stores being understaffed by employees with little training. But, not so Ace North! Always friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and glad to point out where within the store an item can be found, even if the name of the item is unknown to the customer! Returns are a breeze. If your cell phone number is on file, it is a simple matter of someone at the customer service desk looking up the account and immediately finding the item to be returned, whether or not a receipt is available. The staff here is very helpful. I am new in town so have been there about 12 times in the past few months. They almost always have what I need - amazing really for a smaller store than I am used too. Okay -- 4 1/2 stars -- and climbing. I've only been in a couple of times, but so far they've had everything I've needed while getting moved in and settled. There is a lot of stuff in this one little building! And I wasn't in the door looking confused for more than 15 seconds today -- when a nice sales person offered to help me find house numbers (so FedEx will be able to find me....) And they have a great lawn and garden section. It's easy parking; easy in/easy out; easy to find exactly what you're looking for, and easy check-out is fast. -- and a constant flow of customers! everything I need in a hardware store. read more

I love this store. I actually like both of the Ace stores in town, but the North store has more in the way of lumber. I was building makeshift shelves with untreated (read: inexpensive) lumber and concrete blocks in my storage space to keep boxes from dying, and I kept forgetting things I needed to buy. I must have visited three separate times, but each time I was greeted as I came through the door by at least two people. Further, they had everything I needed and were courteous and helpful as they loaded my car, cut my lumber, and directed me to the aisle I couldn't find. I'm always impressed when I come here. The prices are reasonable and customer service is stellar. I only wish they were open later, especially on Sundays. read more

Been to both LC locations and both are great. I don't think you can walk 10ft into the store without someone asking if you need help. Really friendly and helpful staff. I can't tell you how many times I've been there to pick up something that I needed in the middle of a project. read more

Love the Ace Hardware North. Not a big fan of the South store, so always drive to the north end of town to go there. Sometimes I feel the stores are two different places, the South store has some of the rudest people. North store is by far the best, always have a good experience. Nicest people but have to give a huge shout out to David T though. One of the few in there that knows what he is doing. You can tell he has worked the trades before. Was able to talk me through my project and set me up with exactly what I needed. From now on I will always ask for him, if he's not there I come back later or go somewhere else. This place and its sister store are both AWESOME!!! Much better selection than at my local Ace and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I went there just to get some no trespassing signs and ended up spending $150. They had some really great deals on small items like a lufkin tape measure for only $5, same with vise grip brand pliers, and some really good deals on DeWalt bits, blades, and drivers I got multiples of each as stocking stuffers for this Christmas. I plan on stopping there any time I'm down in that area. read more

Had a $50 meat grinder bought for me for Christmas on line in Portland. Took it to Ace in Lincoln City to return it. Took 5 people to try to do return before they said they couldn't return it because it was "bought on line". Wow, what if it had been sent from Florida, now I have to pay for postage to send it back to family to have them then go to the Ace they picked it up at. Not too convenient. Plus they were pretty rude and had a negative attitude as soon as I walked in with a "return". read more
