Rae and her associates give me outstanding service every time. I have a lot of the Stihl battery powered tools and love talking Stihl with them! The Stihl prices are the same everywhere. They usually have what I need, but if not, they order it and it comes right away, no waiting for days or weeks. This is an old school wood floor kind of place. The tools are laid out next to the register so don't forget to check the backside. They have some lawn and garden power stuff in the back. I usually get pretty lucky and find something that will work in the little store. Staff is real friendly. Easy parking on street in front or next to building. read more

Banks hardware is actually more than one business in the same space. In the back of the building there is a very well equipped Stihl shop. It has chainsaws and related stuff like safety gear, sharpening tools, and the like. I found that the selection was excellent, but I had a hard time determining what saw would fit best for me. I think that as a chainsaw amateur, I was not the normal clientele to this location and thus asking questions that were not the norm for the place. In the front of the store is a small, but well equipped hardware store. I have bought everything from hinges and clasps to electrical panel breaker switches here. They are knowledgeable and have a wide range of stuff for everyday use. I just noticed that they also sell the prison blues brand of jeans, which are made in prisons and it just sounds tempting to get a pair and see how they are... I will have to figure out what size I need though as there is no place to try a pair on that I know of... All told this is a nice small local hardware store. read more

Great little store. You can step out of time here while looking at the latest in industrial grade chain saws (not the whimpy things you find at the big box stores) This is the home area of the Ax Men loggers. In the back of the store is a working pot-belly wood burning stove several of the older locals seem to hang out around and chat (great resource for coming up with some creative ways to fix various things that sent you the hardware store in the first place. read more

I took my chainsaw for tune up and repair. Upon paying 53.00 I took the saw home and a few weeks later I started the saw and it would not idle without quitting. I took the saw back, was charged 38.00 bucks, I took the saw approx. 2 miles to where I was gonna do a job and the saw again would start, but not continue to idle. I immediately took the saw back and requested a total of 91.00 back. The guy behind the counter gave me a receipt saying he had credited my card. Since I did not have my glasses, I asked if I was refunded the total requested and was told "NO", I was refunded the 38.00 for the second repair. I again said I wanted the other 53 bucks and was told that "Ray" would have to approve that and they basically accused me of not telling them the second time I brought the saw back that it was because it did not run correctly the first time. I responded saying that when I brought it in the second time, the lady receiving the saw wrote on a work order what my concerns were. Miraculously they did not have that and again, I was told I would have to wait for said "Ray". I took my saw there because I knew one of the repair people that had worked there in the past and I have lived in this area for 50 years trusting the repair would be more than adequate. read more

They carry a surprisingly large assortment of hardware for such a small store. Friendly staff! If you're not seeing what you need, ask! Prices are good, no reason to go to the huge unfriendly big box places. They carry better stuff, also, not the cheap plastic Chinese crap that the bigger places specialize in.
