I notified her within the day of finding out, explained that i needed to reschedule, and apologized for any inconvenience. Never heard from her. Followed up the next day to confirm she received my message. Never heard from her. I've never experienced anything like that at any salon I've ever been to. Even if she didn't need the business, this review is to highlight that it takes a level of callousness to never reply. It made me then realize that during my last appointment, she was pretty distant/cold. I simply assumed she was in the zone while working bc she was doing a color correction, cut, & then color. Prior to the appointment she initiated & exchanged several texts with me to discuss my hair so texting with clients is standard for her. Based on her behavior & lack of response, i wouldn't recommend going here. At that point it's not even about professionalism, it's just about acting like a decent person. For the price she charges (similar to NYC prices), you can find better service and actual professionals. I'm sure this review will be buried by regulars but there's something to be said about a person who ignores you even during a time of loss.

She took the time to discuss what I like about my hair and what I considered problematic. I told her my highlights now looked pure blond and I wanted more contrast while my roots were far too grown out. I also made it clear I didn't want to spend half my day in the salon. She gave me partial highlights and lowlights, toner, a trim and with her magic scissors took out a lot of the bulk I'd been carrying. Before starting she made sure to tell me what each step would cost so there were no surprises. I love my hair and got many compliments the rest of the day. I recently used this salon as a member of a small wedding party down in FL. The family was…read moregenerously paying for the make-up artist/hairstylist that was coming to the house to work on myself, the bride, and the mother of the bride. I was decently happy with the way my hair and make up came out, however I was not happy to hear that the family was charged approximately an extra $400 more than discussed to their credit card the day after the wedding. This extra charge came with no warning, no breakdown of what was being charged, and no up front (and honest) discussion about what exact services constitute an extra charge. The bride was told that clip in extensions were recommended for her hair, so she bought them herself, but was never told clipping them in would be extra up front. Upon calling and trying to get a breakdown of what the extra charges were for, the salon arbitrarily named lashes and clip in hair extension installation (which were our own clip ins bought ourselves) STILL without a formal breakdown. Only one drugstore cluster lash was applied to only my lash end with the make up artists suggestion (phrasing it as though she was doing me a favor) along with a swipe of duo brand drugstore lash glue. While we still have not been provided a formal breakdown of additional charges, which the contract says can be done upon request, I am curious how much that was worth to them. This and clipping in 3 pieces of hair (no formal hair extension installation). An email was sent out before the wedding that said "bring any accessories, veil, hair pieces etc." While there was a contract, I found it to be extremely arbitrary and the business model in general seems to lack transparency as a whole. It is very easy to tell your customer, "by the way to do ____ will be extra" instead of just adding the fees on. I think openness and being courteous to your customers goes a long way & could have prevented some of these issues. I ended up feeling very bad this family was charged so much extra. It also turned what was supposed to be a fun experience of getting our hair and make-up done together into something that was a headache after the bride's wedding day. I believe a credit card must be put down up front, but if possible as a warning, do not give your credit card information to companies like this. When possible, my best advice is to use cash or a check and stick to places that don't store your sensitive information to use later on. If you are using this company, make sure you probe and ask as many questions as you can about pricing and what constitutes an extra charge!
