HORROR!! LINDSEY PENDERGRASS ruined my hair! From extremely healthy, thick and long hair that extended below my butt to frizzy, fried, wet noodle hair that is now 10 inches shorter and completely damaged. A friend who saw Lindsey's IG page with all the "good outcomes" recommended her as she knew I had been wanting to do balayage. I sent Lindsey pictures that showed a warm walnut color. She sent me back a picture that closely resembled the color I wanted and asked - would you be happy with this? Yes, and I told her I use an all natural dye I get from Whole Foods to color any whites. Scheduled an appt with her and when I got there, she told me it was best to trim my ends. Yes sure, a trim - about an inch. OMG she cut 6 inches!!! I was horrified, 6 inches??? And she's like oh no, it's not 6 inches. HUH?? You can't measure or you must think I'm stupid. Nonetheless, she proceeded to bleaching the hair. After the hair was rinsed and she started to dry it, the ends felt disintegrating and as it dried even more, the damage was visible, many split ends, very dry and frizzy. The color was a reddish purple, not even close to what she said I would get. She tried to convince me to tone it to a very bight red, to which I answered absolutely not. The hair was left reddish/purplish. She told me she wanted to trim the ends as they were damaged. I told he no, that I didn't want anything more cut as she took too much already. She guaranteed me she wouldn't take length, just the ends. She cuts 2 inches from the longer length and in some areas she chopped as much as 4 inches AGAIN layering it. I stopped her but it was too late. I had been growing my hair to have an even cut without layering and she, without my authorization, chops my hair in a V and now having thin ends, with her having cut between 8 and 10 inches of length and wrong color change. I was very disappointed, she kept insisting the length wasn't cut that much, she insisted it was maybe 4 inches and the color would be better seen outside. I paid and she tried to push an expensive product, which seemed pissed I didn't buy. When I got home, I noticed the extent of the damage and the cut she had done. I contacted her and she refused to agree that she had cut so much and always answering me with an attitude. I washed my hair 4 days later and it was pulling apart in the ends like wet noodles and when dried looked like cotton candy. I texted her, sent her pictures and she didn't answer for a while. I added back the black natural dye to my hair in an attempt to hide the bleached damage (in the past another hairdresser had also damaged my hair and immediately added color to attempt to hide and make the hair stronger). I went in for balayage, but what Lindsey did to my hair were highlights and some areas of my roots had been bleached too. Lindsey texted me later and blamed me that I should have waited more than 2 days. LOL She can't count?? I went in on Wednesday and washed the hair on Sunday - 4 days!!! This girl tries to twist reality to avoid any culpability. Then I tell her I had to dye back the hair and she now says the hair was like that because I used the dye. HUH? No Lindsey, the video I sent you of the hair breaking / cotton candy was BEFORE I added back the color. Spoke with the manager, had me go in and see the master stylist. He came out with a pissed look in his face. Told him the story, asked for a full refund and he said: No, I was right there when she did your hair and she didn't cut that much. And your hair is fine. What?? So my hair is brittle, frizzy, dry and 10 inches shorter and it's fine?? He came prepared to deny any fault. I showed him a picture of my before and after he said ok, we will give you a refund. After 1 treatment leaving the hair brittle, oily roots, Lindsey texted me: We're not doing any more free treatments on you, don't contact me again. I grew my hair healthy, strong, thick, went to Lindsey Pendergrass, who fried it, made me loose 10 inches and oh well, I'm left to handle her negligence on my own, and both her and the salon are the ones upset?? read more

DO NOT GO TO LINDSEY PENDERGRASS. This is a review I will post for a friend as I was the one who referred her to the salon. I found Lindsey Perdergrass through her IG and per her pictures of the balayage I recommended her to a friend who wanted to do balayage on her hair to a warm walnut color. Very long story and the salon keeps trying to twist the truth. Lindsey assured my friend there would be no damage and the hair would be warm and sent her a picture of what to expect. When my friend was there, Lindsey Pendergrass asked her to trim her hair, and cut 7 inches, my friend was shocked and Lindsey kept saying it wasn't that much. The hair before was below her butt and after the cut was above her waist. After coloring it and damaging the hair, she cut another two trying to cut away the damage. The hair barely changed color and instead was a red/purple color. She tried to convince my friend to tone it to a blood red, my friend refused and told her she wanted an all natural look like she asked for and not a blood red. My friend went home, washed her hair 4 days later and the ends disintegrated in her hands, loosing another 2 inches. It was suppose to be balayage, but her roots got bleach too in some areas. She sent pictures of the damage and the hair breaking to Lindsey and she didn't answer for a while. My friend used natural hair dye to attempt to conceal the monstrous damage done to her once very long and super healthy hair but the hair was so damaged that didn't take much of the color. She contacted the salon, they reluctantly agreed to refund her and told her they would not be providing any help towards getting her hair healthy. She insisted, and they agreed to bring her in for 1 treatment. Lindsey still refused to acknowledge she cut so much and the hair was now 10 inches shorter, even though the before picture shows a healthy hair below my friend's butt and the after shows a hair by the bra strap. The treatment she went in for did nothing to the hair, still super frizzy and crispy overall. She sent pictures to Lindsey and Lindsey told her that her hair was great and not to contact her again. If anyone wants to see the extensive damage my friend's hair suffered, send me a message and I will send it to you. Mistakes happen, but what's worse is the negligence of this salon and the hairdresser in handling a horrendous error they made and instead of being apologetic and work on bringing back some health into my friend's hair, they are the ones upset and making her feel bad, minimizing the state they left her hair in, 10 inches shorter and completely damaged, with frizz, fried and split ends. She had to spend over $300 in products and another $300 for hair extensions. Before you go to this salon, be aware that if anything goes wrong, you are on your own and it could be a very costly error, emotionally devastating. read more

I've been a loyal client of this salon since 2017, regularly seeing one of their stylists. Over the years, as my hair needs have evolved, I've gone from occasional visits to appointments every five weeks for cut, color, and product, often spending between $100 and $300 per visit. Until now, I've had only positive experiences and have even left a five-star review in the past. Unfortunately, that changed during my recent visit. After being encouraged to try a new scalp treatment and told I'd receive a 20% discount on the product, I agreed. I was also assured, per usual practice, that I could return or exchange previously purchased, unused products. The front desk staff or manager has always handled this seamlessly. However, I was met with unexpected resistance when I returned this week to exchange an unused $40 item and purchase another $100 worth of product. The owner herself refused the return, citing the six-month timeframe, despite the product being unopened and undamaged, and despite my recent history of spending over $300 between April 10 and April 18 alone. I explained I'd been displaced due to Hurricane Helene, so I had not been utilizing the product as much as previously, and it was unopened. Her only response was, "My husband's out of work." I've spent my career in customer loyalty and experience, and I can confidently say that this is not how long-term clients should be treated. A simple return of a $40 product (when I was about to spend more) is the definition of shortsightedness. It's a small gesture that would have honored a customer relationship built over eight years. If you value businesses that stand by their word and recognize the lifetime value of a client, I would caution against supporting this salon. There are too many professionals who understand the meaning of customer care to tolerate this level of pettiness from an owner. read more

I drive all the way from Tampa to have my hair done by Lindsey every 8-12 weeks and have been doing so for the past six years. If there is one thing I can tell you about her it's that her skills are WORTH THE DRIVE. Being someone who has extremely thick hair it can be difficult to find a stylist who is able to cut my hair and not have it look terrible. I have never once had a haircut that I haven't loved by Lindsey and I've had them all. I had hair down to my butt at one point, then we cut it to a medium length, and also a long bob. She always does a wonderful job and gives me the exact cut that I have in mind. She has also used different cutting techniques on my hair in order to make it lighter in weight and easier to style due to how thick it is. I also tend to change the color of my hair every single time I go in to see her and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME it turns out amazing. My hair has seen every color from bleach blonde to a dark brown ombré and even blues and purples. Having gone through all of these changes can be difficult on your hair, but Lindsey is sure to educate me on the ways to best care for my hair at home as well as recommending taking time for certain color changes in order to minimize any damage. Needless to say I get compliments on my color and cut on a regular basis and I would never even consider going to anyone else. She's just that great. read more

From the moment I entered I was greeted with smiles and warm pleasantries. It's as if every perfected moment was hand picked from my "hair dreams." Wow this place is great! I called this morning Saturday to get in to do a color touch up and they got me in same day for a 1 pm appointment !! I had to fix an issue I had with my hair and Taylor and her assistants took care of me and didn't make me wait :). They offer complimentary drinks when you walk in and are really attentive to your needs to make sure we are all on the same page and really try to understand what you want to achieve with your look and color. The best thing about Fresh Salon and Spa is Erica Audra!! I have the blessing of sharing my time between Denver and Sarasota the last 8 years. After making it very clear that I would wait for the stylist to return, after being told repeatedly that she did still work there, I never got a call back when she "returned". I wouldn't recommend going to a salon that will lie to you to try to keep getting your money, instead of allowing you the opportunity to stay with the stylist you are happy with. I assume the owner thinks that's the best way to keep clients in the salon, personally, I disagree.

I was told Alex had 10 yrs. as a color specialist. Taylor stated it would be around $30 as I've learned to ask. Sitting in the waiting room, after 3 sips of coffee, my son returned with Alex and said he was finished. Really? I couldn't see the color as his short hair was soaking wet dripping on his shirt. He whispered something to the lady as we checked out and my jaw dropped as it was $60 for a 3-minute service. Mind you, it is very dark in the salon so there is no way to tell how the color turned out, especially with wet hair (not even a quick towel dry). We walked to the car and I noticed dark toner all over my son's neck, forehead & sides. I wiped it off as best as I could as we had to be somewhere in 30 minutes. Once we got there, his hair was dry...stunned at how it looked. The toner wasn't applied to his entire head missing the perimeter of his hairline by 1/2 inch to an inch. Some places were patchy. Enough being nice now... I was so upset I had my husband call and tell them about our experience. We didn't want to go back to Alex but they said no one else was open at their other 2 locations. Sadly, we had no other option but to return to Alex who came out with a huge attitude when I showed him the areas he missed. He was a complete a** and didn't acknowledge (stared at me and my son) his sloppy, 3-minute mess. He told my son to come back and he would re-do it. 15-minutes later, he brings my son to me and says, "Is this to your liking"? If my sweet son wasn't with me, I would have popped him in the mouth. He's lucky I'm from the South and not the NE! Nice millennial attitude. Stay away from ALEX! No wonder why he was the only one who had several openings that day. I have long, thick, wavy hair and understand the time commitment involved even for a standard trim, so I always book the longer appointment, pay the higher rate, and make sure to tip well. Unfortunately, my most recent experience revealed some troubling business practices and unprofessional customer service. At my last appointment, I went to their website and carefully booked the 60-minute Aveda Expert Hair Artist Cut & Style--the most expensive option listed. I chose this option because I have had bad experiences in the past (like many people have), and wanted my hair to be smooth and straight so I could evaluate my cut before leaving. The haircut itself went well, but when it came time to blow-dry my hair, I was informed that it would cost an additional $20 to use a round brush. For anyone unfamiliar, a round brush is standard for finishing a professional haircut (when it is advertised as a haircut and style). The tension of a round brush is crucial for achieving a polished look, especially if you have wavy hair that is prone to frizz. In my experience (both as a client and former stylist), telling a client about an up-charge in the middle of a service is unusual and feels opportunistic. I was paying for a cut and style, and I just expected what was included in my service --a smooth blow-dry so I could actually see my haircut. I ended up leaving with damp hair because I did not see the point in letting her create a shrubbery of my hair, and I wasn't about to get extorted in the chair. If it had been made clear that my haircut would be $105 for a cut and style, I wouldn't have felt so blindsided. At the time, I let it go. I was upset, but because online booking was a newer feature on their site, I figured it was an issue with the online booking system and chose not to update my previous (glowing) review. Despite the unpleasant experience, I had a good first impression, and I was still hopeful about my next visit. Today, when I went to book again, I noticed the same confusing options online--one for $65 and 45 minutes, another for $85 and 60 minutes. To avoid repeating the last situation, I called the salon to clarify. Unfortunately, that call confirmed exactly why I won't be returning. I spoke with a receptionist named Delly, who interrupted me repeatedly, talked over me, and dismissed my concerns before even hearing me out. She incorrectly insisted all appointments were for one hour and accused me of talking about a kid's cut (I wasn't). After finally looking at the website herself, she admitted I was right but doubled down, saying, "We've always charged $20 for round brushing." She said this with full confidence, even though she clearly didn't know the details of the services listed online. What could have been a simple, respectful conversation turned into an uncomfortable, condescending encounter. I honestly still can't believe how messy and unprofessional she was. Bottom line: If you're charging $85 for a senior-level haircut and style, it should include a professional finish, especially if you advertise it as such online. If you charge more (for any reason), it should be clearly stated, and it was not. And if your front desk can't handle basic customer service without being dismissive or combative, you're going to lose loyal clients.

I had a second appt with Danielle and felt ignored, I waited for the appt to get started, then I waited while she ran around taking care of her other clients. It was a very long appt-like 4 hours. Danielle did an okay job. I scheduled a third appt but Danielle was not available during my available timeframe. They set me up with a different stylist who was to just do a highlight touch up, she ended up doing the whole haircut and only a few highlights. Cost the same as with Danielle. They do not pick up the phone but you can leave a message and they may get back to you.

It looked great. I told him it looked perfect that my hair has never looked so good. It was exactly what I wanted. I wanted my super thick hair thinned and not choppy. He then says he's going to make it "perfect." Im really confused because I just told him it looked perfect but I trusted him to just do some last minute trimming. Well next thing I know half my hair is gone. I'm in shock I said I wish you hadn't done that; tried to look on the bright side and think of how it'll always grow back. I paid, ran out the door and have been crying ever since. I don't see any layers left. I have short bangs and half my hair chopped off. It feels thicker on the ends than when I started. It is literally a nightmare. I cannot put my hair up in a bun anymore without a hair tie because it's so bluntly cut on the ends. Wish I never went in, I'll have to wait a year for it to all grow out. In the meantime I have to spend extra time to get extensions put in. The reason I'm writing this is because had he stopped and just done what I had asked i would have been really enjoying this hair cut. I can't go back and fix it but I do hope Lucas reads this and starts actually listening to his customers so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Common courtesy dictates that you do not book and confirm appointments for someone whom you do not employee. Another client in the salon said they had treated her the same way the week prior. Another stylist offered to fit me in his schedule. I had to wait an hour past my appointment time and then unfortunately got a haircut that did not workout for my hair. This stylist was very apologetic but did not have the required time to do anything but a rushed job. The front desk person came just short of calling me a liar about the appointment until I showed her my phone messages. The salon manager never apologized during our telephone conversations. She only wanted to make sure I would wait the hour to have a haircut. It did not take long for this lash place to ruin a nice hair salon. It is evident that hair is not a priority anymore.
