Sky Shed restaurant view

Here's an updated version including Sky Shed: 5/5 We stayed at the Kimpton Armory Hotel in Bozeman this weekend, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is definitely upscale, but absolutely worth the extra expense. The staff was warm and welcoming the moment we arrived, and our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. A major highlight was the rooftop pool -- heated to 100° in the winter and offering a stunning view of the Bridger Mountain Range. Truly a unique and relaxing experience. We also visited Sky Shed, the restaurant on the top floor, and it was fantastic. The space offers incredible 180° views of Bozeman, making it the perfect place to unwind with great food and drinks. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I'd highly recommend the Kimpton Armory Hotel -- and a visit to Sky Shed -- to anyone coming to Bozeman.

Our Go-To Bozeman Stay - Don't Miss the Sky Deck and That Heated Rooftop Pool! The Kimpton Armory Hotel has become our go-to spot whenever we visit Bozeman, and for good reason. The staff here is consistently amazing--friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to make your stay memorable. This last trip was no exception. The highlight? The Sky Deck. The rooftop bar and restaurant offer fantastic drinks, great views, and an outdoor heated pool that's open year-round. It was closed on our first day due to the extreme temperatures for safety reasons, but the next day, with temps hovering around 10°F, we hopped in--and it felt like a luxurious, steamy bathtub with a mountain view. Definitely a unique Bozeman experience! The rooms are equally impressive. The sheets are incredibly comfortable, and the robes they provide? Pure plush perfection. If you can, book a corner room that ends in 17--the shower alone is worth it. Coming from the West Coast, we're not used to the dry Montana air, but here's a game-changing tip: you can request a humidifier for your room. The staff will bring it right up, and it makes a world of difference, especially after a day of exploring or sitting in that high-altitude sunshine. Oh, and did I mention they're pet-friendly? When we were checking out, the front desk staff was happily babysitting a dog while its owner went to brunch. It's those little touches that make the Kimpton Armory feel like more than just a hotel--it feels like a second home. If you're heading to Bozeman and want a blend of comfort, cool vibes, and killer rooftop views, this is the spot.

Beautiful hotel in the preserved and renovated armory building. Staff, rooms, food and drink all fantastic. Fun downstairs bar with live music, and great views from the rooftop heated pool and restaurant/bar. Fielding's breakfasts were delicious.

Ok...went there with the gals that were still in town from homecoming last weekend. I thought this place was really fancy and I expected the prices to be pretty high but it wasn't that expensive. We all had a drink (or 2) and split a couple of appetizers. Or server, Rocky was awesome and very on top of everything. I'd definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again soon.

Great hotel just off the Bozeman main street. There is a parking lot around the corner and we parked our rental car a block down in a parking garage. We normally stay at Marriott hotels and this was a great first experience at an IHG hotel. There is a little happy hour that I believe is daily. They had local beers to sample! Our room was on the 5th floor and it was well stocked. There were candies and snacks to purchase as well as a tray of drinks. I thought it was a nice touch to have an umbrella in the closet as well as a steamer and yoga mat. I've never seen either in a hotel room. The bathroom was spacious and I really enjoyed the wooden pegs to hang the bath towels on. Often, I find that there is only 1 bathroom towel hook or only a towel bar on the shower door. There was plenty of room to hang towels without them slipping off. There is a bright light that stays on all night emitting from the thermostat but otherwise, there were no complaints about the room. We ate at Fieldings for dinner on our first night and it was a solid hotel restaurant. The rooftop bar looked very nice as well! There was a wind advisory during our stay so we did not get to enjoy the pool. The Front Desk and Valet staff greeted us whenever we were coming and going and always helped to open the door for us. Overall, this is a great hotel and I would recommend anyone coming to Bozeman to stay here.

Amazing hotel to stay at for a trip in Bozeman. Staff was friendly, from first walking into hotel, the valet always opens doors for you and greets you. Check in is seamless and room was clean. Love the amenities they provide. This hotel is also so close to the main street, it was easy to walk to all the food and shops around. Rooftop bar is also a very nice touch to an already great hotel experience!

Attentive service with periodic check-ups! I stayed there for 4 evenings and I think the attentive customer service stands out most of all. Upon a very efficient check-in, in about an hour, I get a text asking if everything okay and if I have any questions or need anything. I did have a few questions, where were promptly answered. Then the following evening, I get another text to check up on things. Almost like a concierge a text away. Anything requested; whether additional bottled water or information is taken care of right away. The hotel was a refurbished armory about 1-1/2 years ago (hence the name), but everything is modern looking. I did not get a chance to go to the rooftop bar and pool, nor the in-hotel restaurant during my stay. Room comes with a well stocked mini and snack bar and also a nice assortment of other adult beverages. Other things in the room is Kuerig coffee maker, safe, umbrella, bathrobes and some of the other normal stuff. The only thing that interestingly was missing was an ironing board and iron (for the business travelers). There is a complimentary happy hour with some wine and local beers between 500 - 600 PM, so a nice way to end the day, hang out with people you are traveling with. REALLY generous wine pours and after an hour, a lot of people have a warm and fuzzy feeling, and it's around the time to start making dinner plans! So I would say give this place a try. I definitely will keep it in mind if I'm in Bozeman again!

Ask the Community - Kimpton Armory Hotel Bozeman

I'm planning on taking a road trip thru Bozeman in May, what are the COVID protocols that I should know? Do I need a negative COVID test or anything?

No test needed for travel into Bozeman. The county health department still has the mask mandate in place. No protocols that are out of the ordinary. Reduced capacity and social distance.

The breakfast at Fielding's was delicious (I recommend the huckleberry smoothie + french toast).

Just check out my pics... clean, adorable, comfortable!! Beds were great. I did get a suite so we had extra room, and it's probably the only room I would rent again as it is so absolutely lovely. Vintagey and mid century modern I cannot get enough of it. Tiny details everywhere you look. Staying for only one night is tragic, and I might cancel our 5 star hotel anniversary celebration last day of vaca splurge stay next week when we fly home just to stay here again. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Price is a little bit high but I think that's everywhere these days right but so worth it. Little bit of street noise but honestly nothing to really mention but I didn't hear any neighbors, not sure if that is the usual or not but I was extremely satisfied and happy and hope when we return I have the same experience. Be warned the cafe attached makes the parking lot completely full but it clears out after breakfast at least it did on a Saturday so not sure how that works for guests if they can't find parking! SIMPLY THE BEST.

The only inconveniences I had were regarding the lack of a microwave and elevator. I had to carry my 50 pound suitcase up and down the stairs. However, the room was SO cute and quirky that I easily looked over it. They were also super understanding with a little emergency I had and allowed me to check out an hour later at no cost. The receptionist, Zoe, was such a sweetheart! I'd love to come back here with my girls during the summertime.
