My colleagues and I have stayed at the Kimpton Eventi NYC well over a dozen times and wouldn't consider ever staying anywhere else when we have business in NYC. The rooms are a good size and always clean. Staff is efficient and always ready to accommodate. Jennifer at the front desk is always incredibly helpful. If you need event space big or small, save yourself the headache and look no further. They have event rooms in all sizes and the staff there is amazing. You'll be well taken care of by Maria, Ivan, Arturo, Frankie, David, Kurt; really anybody on the floor on any given day. I can't praise the event staff enough. This is my 2nd stay at Kimpton Hotel Eventi, near herald square, both times this hotel has served our stay beautifully. The hotel has a great vibe, nicely decorated, modern sleek and city views are amazing. If you forgot something, like night time necessities, they got you covered. Staff are warm & welcoming. As part of the Hotel Collection, you get late checkout, perks like complimentary breakfast. However take notes - it's only 2 choices - either eggs & potatoes OR a pastry & fruit option. Would skip the NYC cart coffee. If you're IHG rewards member; you get points too! Win win. The only takeaway for me, ask questions... when you book through Amex Hotel Collection, it comes with a $100 credit... which I didn't know could be used for food! Wish it was on like a welcome note.. When you stay for a week in a hotel like this one, you have the opportunity to see how the hotel changes with the days. During the week, it's clearly short term business travelers for the most part with a younger age group than in some of the larger hotels. On the weekends, it appeared to be a lot of lifecycle event attendees, who were there to celebrate with friends. The hotel itself clearly wants to be seen as chic, sophisticated and edgy. The modern decor certainly fits that model. We found the rooms to be quite small and sparsely furnished - no dresser, a few small shelves in the closet, one small chair wedged in the corner, but a spacious bathroom. The refrigerator, annoyingly, was filled with drinks that we had no interest in buying. That said, every part of the hotel was spotless. One very irritating thing - they must deal with a number of deadbeats, because we were alerted by our bank that every day they were putting more holds on our credit card - and that's after starting with a $700 hold. It was an insulting way to treat guests especially ones who have a solid record of staying at IHG hotels. The staff are outstanding. A shout out to Panos, the new hotel restaurant manager, who is just terrific; Robin, the lobby, security man with whom we had numerous conversations, Chris, the doorman who is delightful and several of the other staff. The maids were lovely and one of them specifically came down the hall to thank us for the tip we left each day. The tradition of having managers host the wine social hour between four and five is really quite nice because you get a chance to talk with them (the General Manager, however, was not among the group the week we were there). We ate breakfast every day at L'Amico and the food and the staff were both good. Skirt Steak is terrific for dinner - especially when it's raining and you don't want to go far. Back Bar has an extremely limited menu of casual food, no bread, and no Bloody Mary mix. Odd. Also beware what they call "house" liquor. The charges we received were for premium alcohol not the house we ordered. It's also extremely noisy during the week. The location is good in terms of walking distance to a lot of New York visitor sites, but it's a bit sketchy at night. I must say the friendliness of the staff goes a long way in making any stay here a good one though. read more

This property is a great choice; wonderful staff (shout out to the valet, Chris), great location, food options were delicious (esp L'Amico) and the room was fantastic. Travelled mid May from Sun to Thursday. We were able to get an early check-in. Room was extremely comfortable and surprisingly larger than we anticipated. Super clean. Comfy bed. Quiet hotel. Housekeeping was flexible, thorough and fast. Absolutely would stay again. Rate varied based on day of the week, but averaged about $500/night - remember there are some crazy high room taxes but no regrets. read more

You'll see "12PM" slathered on the email, but you may end up stuck in the lobby for 2+ hours before they make good on this. Chasing this down won't be worth your time, either, since you'll be trapped in limbo with IHG support crew escalating to Eventi High Council, who's pretty sure early check-in means "any time before 3PM." FREE WINE? YES PLEASE! I loved my stay at the Kimpton! The moment you walk in you feel elevated to a sophisticated vibe with the beautiful warm gold and dark interior. They have wine for their guests everyday and their lobby and bar is a perfect place to lounge and chat. Room size is spacious and doesn't feel cramped. The bed and pillows is heavenly and I liked how we could request a new flat sheet change. Their windows open slightly to let in fresh air and their restrooms have a huge shower big enough for two. Their bathrobes were chic and there's a fridge with snacks drinks to purchase but also enough room to store your own. Location is perfect because it's close to all subways and the best part is there's a NORDSTROM RACK w/ everything (shoes, makeup, swimsuits, belts, sunglasses) you can think of! So if you want to pack light and just shop you can! The entire staff from the doorman who always greeted us and made small talk to the front desk guys were all friendly. Just be careful of one of their room cleaners wasn't so nice to us and didn't clean the room well but RUTH was excellent! Other than her everyone was fab! The restaurant downstairs has AMAZING BRUNCH do not miss out!!!! Their baked egg dish and home made Bloody Mary was so good! I'll def recommend this hotel to others! read more

The Kimpton Hotel Eventi is a swanky hotel located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. It's very conveniently located just around the corner from the Empire State Building and within easy walking distance of Madison Square Garden. It's close to major public transportation hubs including the amazing Penn Station. In other words, it's a great place to be your base of operations in your New York City visit! The hotel itself is a tall building, with several bars and restaurants within it. We liked the art found throughout the building, but the electrical wiring sculpture hanging in the Back Bar was really something! Our Premium Room on the 21st floor had a great view, and had a spacious and beautiful bathroom. The best thing about this facility is its staff! The front desk was always super helpful, and genuinely personable. We were on a first name basis with our housekeeper, and the restaurant serving staff was very good as well. The hotel gave me some special decorations and special beverages for my birthday, which was very nice. We only ate breakfast on site, and it was nice enough. We receive free breakfast as an IHG Diamond Elite perk, but this was limited to two menu items: Continental and American. Something to be aware of if you are a member. The quality of the American was good though, and you could add side items at an additional charge. read more

We had one of the best hotel experiences in a long time at the Kimpton Eventi! We had spent a ton of time researching hotels online, and we were so glad we landed on this one. The staff is super friendly and easy to get ahold of (always multiple people available in the lobby, at the front desk, and at the door), and the room was nice, clean, and cold. The location was awesome, with plenty to do within walking distance or a short cab ride away. Also, who can complain about free wine in the lobby every night?! We had a lovely stay at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi. We stayed one night for a little Valentines staycation and it was so great. The atmosphere is very classy without feeling pompous. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. There's free wine served between 5-6pm. There's a bar and restaurant connected to the lobby and plenty to do in the area. The room itself is very nice and modern. Very spacious and clean. The TV is controlled by a tablet which also had information about the hotel and amenities. The only interesting note is that the entire hotel has a smokey campfire scent which is lovely to smell as I love camping and it wasn't too strong, but it did leave the scent in my hair and a little on our clothes. Otherwise, the overall stay was absolutely wonderful and I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others! read more

We are back! We booked the same hotel after visiting two years ago and it did not disappoint. We had a view of the Empire State Building from our room and made it to the downstairs bar for amazing cocktails. We didn't make it to breakfast since they closed at 11am, but around the corner is Friedman's and would highly recommend for brunch. We made it to dinner and the truffle pasta was 10/10. Comfortable, clean room. The customer service was great as well. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine while we waited to check in. Once we got up to the room, we noticed the TV didn't work and they replaced the whole TV. They also had some toiletries that we neglected to bring. Pleasant two-night stay for work! The bed was comfortable, and I was surprised by large bathroom, although the shower doesn't have a door and I took cold showers despite the hot water. I also don't know that I've ever cared enough to have an opinion about this, but I wish they had better artwork, or least something without eyes above the toilet. The evening wine hour was great, and I appreciated being asked whether I wanted a room facing the back where it's quiet or the front. I also had a drink at the back bar with the best Sauvignon blanc I've ever had, and lunch at the other restaurant attached to the hotel. The inside of the lobby and king room was very accommodating - the staff were very helpful for anything we needed, and the security and door folks made me feel really good about the tenancy of who was in the hotel as well. The proximity was fairly close to a lot of good local eats and things to do as well. The beds were generally comfy and we had little to no trouble out of the WiFi or TV services either. It was a bit tricky at times getting a Lyft or Uber in at the location - just a tip, maybe set your pickup point a block away where it's easier (saves on your wait time). Location: The location is excellent, it's right next to the Empire State Building and if you are from out of town and don't feel comfortable with the subways yet on your first day then walking is an option. I walked to the main areas of Manhattan without an issue. There are plenty of stores and food options nearby. Pet-Friendly: This is the one I had trouble with, first off there is no pet-relief area in the hotel and not even outside of the hotel. When I asked I was advised that there was a park with grass a few blocks away. This can be very stressful when you are on a getaway trying to relax. I have a small dog so I was able to take her to a tree across from the restaurant they have at the hotel and she would just pee in the dirt. I have a malti-poo puppy and I can admit that she has a a little anxiety when me and my wife leave anywhere. That can last 2-3 minutes of her crying and barking a little. As soon as a left the hotel called me and said they already had multiple complaints. I was already away from the hotel so I can see how this could have been a possibility (I can't say because I was not with her). However, I was called on another occasion at my room and the front desk stated they were getting more complaints that she was barking all night. I advised I was with my dog all night this time and morning and she has not made a peep. The next thing I was told was "We have already credited a few guests and moved some guests, we cannot keep doing that so you need to keep that in mind". I then stated are you sure it may not be another room because again I have been here all night and morning and my dog has not made a sound. I was advised "I will send someone up there to check things out". End of the day I did not appreciate the guilt trip and I don't think I needed that information. It could have been presented differently and it made me very uncomfortable to address anything else. Not so pet-friendly if you ask me. I've stayed at multiple Kimpton locations and never had an issue. Room: The room was very nice and had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable, there is a window you can open just a crack to get some fresh air and the shower there was also very spacious and luxurious. However, there was a noise that we kept hearing every 10 minutes or so that was weird. I think it's jump part of being in a high rise building I am not sure. It was super annoying though and woke us up quite a bit. (See Video) Amenities: Complimentary wine @ 5PM, free coffee from 7-930 AM were the ones I used and they were much appreciated. I checked in around 5 PM and was greeted with wine. Very nice. Staff: Except for the pet issue, everything else was 10/10. The bellhops, housekeeping and the gentleman checking guests at the elevators were great. Shoutout to the Dominican gentleman in housekeeping I think his name is Francisco but I may be wrong. HE IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF AN EXCELLENT EMPLOYEE. Very nice and willing to help with anything. What a guy. read more

The worst experience I ever had in this hotel. I had stolen 1K by putting inside the safe. The housekeeping had stolen and I didn't get any apologies. They are really rude and racists. They didn't do anything but just saying "we cannot do anything but just reporting in the paper." After I had written down the report paper, I didn't got any messages or any updates about my money. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT VISIST HERE. I'm warning you guys. I'm about to sue this hotel. Please find another hotel if you are planning to visit here. The security and the services are worst. Our stay highly exceeded our expectations. After having some recent bad experiences at other highly rated hotel chains we were a bit skeptical about how the Kimpton would be. However, everything was perfect. First of all, the staff was amazing and super helpful. We were always greeted with a smile and everyone was eager to help. Our room was clean and very spacious for NYC. Most importantly the AC was freezing cold which was a huge plus and hard to find in NYC at times. We also enjoyed the free happy hour every night in the lobby and the lobby had a fun vibe at all times. The location was great. Breakfast at La Amica was good as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton and already think it will be our go-to spot when we are in town for events at MSG since it's just a quick walk to the venue. Overall the hotel is very nice, modern and elegant. Our room was fine, though I will say that it took us like two days to figure out the mini-fridge was in the nightstand on one side of the bed. The staff was courteous and very accommodating, which we appreciated. They even have these cool tablets in your room where you can make requests like more towels. But unfortunately, ours was not operational during our stay at all. :-( On the con side: -I did not love the bathroom. It was plenty nice from an appearance standpoint, all gray marble. But the countertop for the sink was so tiny that my husband and I were constantly jostling for space for our stuff. And the towel bars are IN the shower. They are far enough away that they generally won't get wet, but that was really weird and awkward. But it did get the job done. -The elevators won't move unless you swipe your key card. I get this from a security perspective, but from a practical sense, it was annoying. We were constantly coming in with our hands full and having to try to find a key and swipe it. -The walls are a bit thin. I don't really care since I sleep like I'm dead, but there were definitely times during the day when we could basically hear what was going on in the room next to us. Also side mention... the L'Amico restaurant in the lobby was fantastic. Definitely try it. We liked Skirt Steak a little less. See my reviews on those if you're interested. read more

We love to walk and there is plenty of places you can walk, shop, eat and just enjoy. People from all over the world. So many different languages . This was far from the experience we hoped for during our wedding weekend. My wife and I decided to elope in New York and chose this hotel for its proximity to our venue--a decision we now deeply regret. The first room we were assigned had head lice, which the hotel confirmed two days later after a third-party investigation. Although they refunded our first night, it felt insufficient. We no longer wanted to stay, but with a nonrefundable reservation, we had no choice but to continue our stay. We were then moved to a second room, which had a less favorable layout than the first. When the lice were discovered, the night staff instructed us to leave our belongings in the room, promising they would be cleaned and returned the next day. We were told we'd receive a call the following morning to discuss next steps and compensation. However, that call never came. I had to reach out to the front desk myself, where I was informed a security guard would escort me back to the first room. The manager later explained that the night staff had provided incorrect information and that we should have packed all our belongings that night to move to the new room. The manager also emphasized that we could not have access to two rooms, which made me feel as though we were being blamed for the situation. We had fully unpacked upon arriving in the first room, so I was left to hastily repack everything by myself while my wife was working. I was assured a bellhop would help me move our three suitcases, duffel bag, backpack, and large coats. However, no bellhop ever arrived--in fact, I never saw one during our entire stay. While I appreciate the hotel's acknowledgment of the situation with a refund for the first night and a restaurant credit, it still felt insufficient. We spent our wedding weekend constantly checking each other for lice and feeling phantom itches. I hope this is not typical of the Kimpton experience, but unfortunately, this is the only experience I've had--and it's one I don't plan to repeat. read more

Mid town Manhattan's Eventi Hotel is consistently delivering warm hospitality to guests with afternoon complimentary featured cocktails and morning coffee. A funky vibe which seems to be steampunk inspired, the attention to detail in the lobby, Vine lounge and restaurants is appreciated. Our 6th stay here over the last 10 years, the hotel has well appointed rooms, good sound proof windows,which block a lot of the city noise, and a high standard for cleaning in guest rooms and common spaces. High end amenity products and robes make you feel right at home. Key card floor access and Lobby security add a level of safety which is nice to have in a big city. Door men, including Kirk, go out of their way to be helpful and coordinate car service. Very friendly front desk staff seem genuinely interested in guests. When my husband's conference revealed NYC as its city, we were so excited to get to stay in the area (on someone else's dime) and try out either a Kimpton or Intercontinental in the area, as we are big IHG fans. We narrowed it down to the two Kimptons (Eventi and Muse), and we were so excited to stay at this hotel up until about 10 minutes after arriving. Perhaps we picked the wrong one... From the moment we arrived and encountered a very neutral to leaning rude customer service, I thought please be an anomaly of the stay. After a few similarly negative experiences, I realized these weren't anomalies; these were the typical experience for this property. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, despite requesting early arrival as a Diamond level IHG member before our stay. We never got the promised text or call that our room was ready either; we just eventually proceeded back and attempted to check in again. When we got to our room, it was clear that we didn't receive an upgrade, despite requesting one as a Diamond level IHG member. When we called down to inquire about one, we were eventually transferred to the manager who rudely told us we should be happy that they upgraded us to a room with a smidgeon of space more; you wouldn't have been able to tell. When we inquired about additional upgrades, we were told we would be contacted the next day when more availability was there; however, we could've booked upgraded rooms still on the website based on their availability. Nothing else about the property was given to us during check-in; we just asked others and continually had to ask other staff about where things were, including their happy hour, which was decent but only included wine (no snacks or other options). The room was nothing to write home about, and the views were nowhere near what they claim to be (and not just from our room). The location is solid obviously, but that's a small part of why I pick a hotel. When combined with rude customer service and management, we would not consider this place again at all. We were celebrating an anniversary and they took the time to make my parents feel welcome and special. Room service is quick and prompt - we forgot to bring a phone charger and they showed up to our door in 5 minutes with a phone charger!! We have Marriot status & this was our first time staying at an IHG hotel (platinum elite) and I gotta say, the service and benefits are soooo much better than what I've experienced with Marriot. I had a pretty flawless stay here recently. Not only was I able to score a great deal on a room, but I was lucky enough to randomly receive a room upgrade upon check-in. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what the specific upgrade was because I booked a King Room on an upper level floor (and that's what I ended up with) but this room was a corner room that was incredibly spacious, with wonderful views. Seriously, the views from two different windows made me feel like I was sleeping in a magical, little urban treehouse, since the windows are floor to ceiling and you're surrounded by skyscrapers. I even had a great view of the Empire State Building. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I didn't need much, but whenever I did need something or had a question they were extremely accommodating. Unlike most of the Kimpton's I've stayed in, their complimentary wine hour does not take place in the lobby or any areas that are lobby adjacent. You've got to head up to another floor, but the space has plenty of room (the lobby, not so much) and the employees pouring had great energy! Everything in the room was clean, tidy and provided me with a comfortable stay. The bathroom was also more spacious than I expected, so it was nice to have a little extra room to spread out since so many hotel rooms in NYC can be tiny. Overall, great stay and what I expect when staying at a Kimpton - comfy rooms, stylish digs and a warm and accommodating staff. Would definitely stay here again! read more

Kimpton, you have done it again. Excellent staff, beautifully maintained rooms and and comfortable beds. We stayed at the Eventi from December 20-23 and another Yelper is correct. Two of the three elevators were down but the hotel tried to accommodate as best they could by opening the service elevators for guest use. We were on the 17th floor and when we were used the service elevators, it felt like we had secret entrance. The room itself was super comfortable and an oasis from the bustling city. We just returned from four nights there. Room was spotless and perfectly furnished. Staff throughout was efficient, pleasant, and helpful in every respect. Ameliana in the restaurant startled my wife by remembering her name when she made a second reservation. Elvira in Housekeeping was efficient and very helpful. Front desk, doormen, and conference staff were all terrific. I would like to compliment other employees by name if only I had them. Six stars! read more
