Although the only food that they have is frozen pizza, the proprietor offered us the opportunity to order carryout from the Corrallejo Mexican Grill (it's just down the hallway from his restrooms in the same building) and then enjoy it in his establishment. He said that he no longer offered food as he was leasing his kitchen out to the restaurant. The Mexican restaurant recently opened and had a long wait list, so this was a perfect option. I think that Dukes is more than just your typical local corner tap with a lot of potential for a good time and interesting conversations. We really enjoyed our time there!

Basically this is one of the first places one encounters when entering town from the east. It's located in the Irish Cottage Inn & Suites. The hotel itself is very nice and has lots of amenities of its own if wanting to stay there. As for the restaurant itself it's one of the highlights. It's about $8 for an Irish coffee, which is a classic in the morning, evening, or whenever. Amazingly they have non dairy options including Bailey's Dairy Free Toffee Cream. It's about $18 or more for an entree which is a lot. We were able to find a few plant based options. I got the Roasted Squash Bowl. This has broccolini, farro, heirloom tomato relish, pickled red cabbage, and white beech mushrooms. An earthy flavor. She had the Vegan Shepherd's Pie. An alternative made with faux beef and mushroom gravy There's also plenty of meaty options like beef medallions. For sure it's one of the nicer restaurants around here. It's closed Mondays. There were about 10 or so people sitting at the bar at 945 on Wednesday night. The bartenders were immediately attentive, and pleasant. We ordered a round of draft beers, all reasonably priced. The bar was quiet, so one could hold a nice conversation. Exactly what I'd look for on a weekday night. The bartenders were both exceptionally polite to my parents and I, and carried on a nice conversation with us for the duration of our time there, covering a variety of topics. All I can say was, I came away quite impressed. I learned that the new owners have only had the bar for less than a year, but you can tell right away they run an excellent establishment. I'd recommend to anyone and I'll happily stop by the next time I come through town.

It would be nice to have a smart tv in line with current trends, since it's good to be able to watch my own shows and movies. The bathroom was fine, bathtub had pink streaks??? Shower maybe needed another door besides the curtain already there, I was very scared of getting water on the floor. The toilet paper was one ply. Hmm. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again. They did leave us macarons and a fun notepad, but it could be a bit better.
