Do not recommend! Hems came out of two pencil skirts after one wash. Sides were taken in and I can see through the stitching. I requested them to be tapered in and they weren't. Just a huge waste of time and money. I now have to take them somewhere else to fix the hems that came out and never got a refund. read more

my wife and I have been going to Kim for over 20 years. I made two mistakes I did not try on the slacks as I picked them up. The other I paid in cash $70. I purchased five brand new pairs of slacks and had him alter to length.They are too short as I brought them back to him 10 days later. He denied he ever did the alterations. My golly, I've been going to Kim's tailor shop for over 20 years. It's always been located in the Carrollwood shopping center by the old Publix, but it has moved from the front to the back of the side strip center. The owner is one heck of a nice man and has always treated me with the utmost respect. I went in once with a wardrobe malfunction and had to hide out the dressing room while they did an emergency repair on what I was wearing so I could present myself in public again. No judgements ,no words of wisdom, just kindness. Kim's was as good today as it was twenty years ago. Today I realized, my special Vera Wang hand-painted shirt that cost me a fortune had ripped down the side for no reason. So of course I took it to Kim's to have it repaired prior to washing it or having any more damage done. No problem it'll be ready in a couple of days and it'll be just like new and, I have no problems or worries whatsoever. Kim's tailor shop has done excellent and quality work for me for over 20 years and I respect them and expect the consistent quality workmanship. What's a girl to do? He has done the impossible for me when I found a dress I loved but was a size 10 to a size 4-6 matching all the prints and patterns I did not know it could be done but he did it. I dropped off pants to have the waist taken in and the leg. I brought a pair of pants as a template and he measured the waist and legs. Unfortunately, I had my son pick them up and he didn't check them until he got home. I go back and he says by just looking at them that I didn't ask for the waist to be taken in. I ask him to look at the receipt, so we can see if he did or didn't write down the waist and he then tells me that takes too long. He has lost a customer. Terrible business man. Liar. read more

I brought two dresses and two pairs of pants here on the recommendation of a friend, as my usual tailor is aging and her work is no longer what it used to be. I was helped quickly and the work was completed when promised. I initially thought the work was a little pricey, but I've been spoiled by my regular tailor who grossly undercharges me. When I picked up my items and tried them on, I could see it was worth every penny. My dresses fit like a glove and the pants were hemmed perfectly. I can see why they've been in business so long. Two thumbs up! 5/3/18- I want to add that Mr. Kim is not only a fantastic tailor, but a very honest man! My husband dropped a new designer suit off for alterations last week. He paid in advance (as is customary here, at least for us) and didn't realize until later that day Mr. Kim had shorted him $10 in change. My husband called and let Mr. Kim know and when we returned this week to pick up the suit $10 was waiting for us. Beyond that, the fit on my husband's suit went from just OK to impeccable. This was my first time at Kim's and I'm very happy with the quick efficient service I received. I came to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed and forgot the heels I would wear. He provided shoes of the approximate heel length to get the measurements without me having to leave and return. I came a month ahead of the wedding, just in case he needed more time, but he promised it back in a week. Plus, the price is GREAT!
