She has an extraordinary ability to connect with adolescents -- respectful, non-judgmental, and deeply intuitive. My son, who was initially closed off and resistant, actually looked forward to his sessions with her (which shocked me!). Dr. Farrah created a safe space where my child felt genuinely heard, understood, and empowered. What impressed me most was how she balanced empathy with structure -- never sugarcoating, but always meeting us where we were. She took time to explain things to me as a parent, too, which helped me support my child much better at home. I thought the fact that they charge twice as much as other institutions I would get the best results, but to the contrary it was the extreme opposite! Attached is the scathing letter I received from the state of Michigan on how poorly of a job this business did on my particular case. I have been seeing Alex for a few years for EMDR for complex trauma. We were tackling issues that…read morehave been entrenched for decades despite lots of past therapy. I feel in her a kindred spirit and she has had great empathy for my experience. I was surprised we didn't do a lot of actual eye movement but we did do a lot of what she calls resourcing which is basically using cognitive restructuring to build the resiliency framework necessary to do the harder work. She kept telling me to hang in there and trust the process. All I can say is, what we have been doing, has been effective beyond my wildest imaginings. I am so much more resilient and confident in my ability to handle challenges than I used to be. I was able to move from therapy into a serious Zen practice that has deepened my understanding of all the mind-body awareness things she has talked about over the years. Some issues I thought I would be living with for the rest of my life seem to have vanished. I don't even need weekly therapy anymore. It's true she does cancel a lot but my schedule has always been pretty flexible and she's always been willing to accommodate things that come up for me. When my son was diagnosed with a disability she was also able to pivot the focus of therapy and provide that support until I found another specialist in that area. She has a very flexible and receptive approach to therapy that works very well for me. I would recommend her to anyone with complex trauma as well as mothers of young children - she gets it!

I was told my one orthopedic surgeon that I would need surgery before I would be "normal" again. I had another tell me that we could see what Physical Therapy could do in 8 weeks, and revisit the situation with surgery being on the agenda to return to normal. I write this, 6 months later, having made a tremendous recovery WITHOUT surgical intervention. With the dedication Andy and Gunnar, and the support of the entire team, they made me believe in myself, trust my body, and achieve my goal of recovering without surgery! It wasn't easy, and there were times I wanted to give up because it seemed impossible, but every time I walked through those doors, I was met with such a positive and encouraging environment that helped press forward. Andy and Gunnar were both extremely kind and charismatic, listened to what my goals were, and made sure my program would help me achieve them. I can say in some ways, I am even stronger than before my injury now. They were fantastic to work with, and I'll miss seeing them every week. I worked with most all of the techs on the team since I was there 3x a week, but Scott and Joe were who I worked most frequently with. They were also fantastic to work with, always cheering me on and keeping me laughing when I might not have been having the best day. They listen to how you are doing and make suggestions of how to improve your situation. They adjust the plan as needed. The physical therapy assistants are also special folks. Even after I had been going for weeks, assistants observed and corrected postioning problems from time to time. There is no sense doing exercises if you aren't trying to get the best results! That was appreciated! I have been to two other outpatient PT groups over the years and HealthQuest has absolutely been the best!
