We did our due diligence and checked out several other locations but they didn't come close to being as special for us. We're both pretty poor planners and were overwhelmed with the idea of planning a wedding for our ~85 guests but Elaine and her team really do make it easy. We went with their all-inclusive package which covers A LOT of the heavy lifting. For anything not included, Kindred Oaks has plenty of recommendations and will keep you accountable to make sure things are getting done. As for the special day itself, no one wanted it to end. Elaine and her team are absolute professionals! They have most everything covered when you book Kindred Oaks. As a bride during COVID, I didn't want to have to worry about much of anything and if you go with this venue, your prayers are answered! The only real decisions you make on your own is finding an officiant, getting a cake and transportation really. Everything else is taken care of in the Texas Package. My wedding ran seamlessly. Elaine and her team have it down to a mad science to where the bride and groom get to really enjoy themselves and their guests. We had to do a venue switch 2 weeks before our wedding and I swear by an act of God, we stumbled directly upon Kindred Oaks and everything fell right into place! We truly fell in love with this venue which is both elegant, rustic and has a very warm nature feel! The ceremony and reception sites are on property and absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite characteristics of this property is the dance floor which is open and has chandeliers hanging from the trees above you! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Kindred Oaks in May of 2019. Elaine and the rest of the staff were awesome! During the whole process they were reachable and responsive. My husband and I are from the Northeast so we used their all inclusive wedding package. The venue does not needing too much extra decor and is beautiful on it's own. Our special day was absolutely gorgeous and our friends and families had a blast! All of our guests raved about how the gorgeous and unique the venue was. This review has taken awhile to write. Of course, there is the note that I did get married at Kindred Oaks. Maybe I am not a girl that has had her dream wedding planned since she was 4, but in my 20's, I averaged going to 6-8 weddings a year. All my vacation was spent on going to various weddings in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, San Francisco, etc. I have written for yelp for years, and I don't just give 5 stars for kicks, but this is a true 5 star. When my wife and I were looking for venues, she mentioned a few places, but there were few that could handle 250 outdoors. Kindred Oaks was actually recommended to us from another venue - that speaks volumes for the respect they have from their peers as well. We made an appointment and fell in love with the place, but also the staff especially Sarah who was with us from the beginning. We made sure that she also signed our sign in collage. Not sure about the place, go to an Open House - the first Monday of every month - free food from vendors that are regulars there. You can set up your photos, floral, catering, alcohol, DJ all there! My wife and I went to several of their open houses - no shame. It was more like another opportunity to see how things can be done at Kindred Oaks. As many other have mentioned, there are several packages that make things easier - a florist literally down the hill so you don't have to worry about something made days ahead that is sitting in a bucket of water 1/2 wilting. DJ's that are used to the acoustics to wire up the arbor (comes with the place). The dance floor is always there (not something that is just added in like a hotel). There are lights in the trees at the ceremony site and dance floor at all times - no extra cost. Want to do sparklers, but don't know how many or where to get them or if they'll explode in shipment? Kindred Oaks will take care of it. Several indoor and outdoor restrooms. A few really nice bonuses. 1.Honeymoon suite on site. Everyone leaves. You and your newlywed go into this honeymoon suite on site. King bed. Bathrobes, Large shower and jacuzzi. My wife and I relaxed. After she got out of her dress, she was finally able to eat. So we ate some more dinner as we sat on the porch overlooking the ceremony site - moonlit. In the morning, someone from Eudora's made us cream cheese stuffed french toast, coffee, home fries, grits, fruit, and coffee. 2. Bartender services - they have a nice bar area. At the open house, we tried their margaritas. If you wanted to have special drink made, you could let the company (Hill Country Events) and they could make some for the next open house for you. They'll help package and wheel out your leftover beer, alcohol as well. They'll give you an estimate for how much alcohol you will need, but they'll have the details of cups, napkins, and especially ICE 3. Facilities maintained year round. The owners are gardeners. So you'll always have in season flowers. Wind chimes. They recently added a new arbor. They have a few swings. They are always working on making things better. They recently we did their porch. Their old dance floor was ripped up and made into a huge "LOVE" sign which is a perfect area for photos. - all included - no additional costs!!! btw - there is a wonderful bridal suite - own bathroom, steamer, full length mirror, "minibar" set up like you're a movie star. My wife was able to watch the ceremony start from her bridal suite (she saw the parents, grandparents be seated, she could see our friends and families in their seats). This bridal suite had a nice enough view that it could be utilized for parents with active/crying children to be in and still watch the ceremony There was a groom's den as well. TV of course. But also our own bathroom and shower. (I've been to enough weddings where a groom's den was the kitchen, a children's playroom, or simply a one stall men's restroom). Nope - the guys and I all relaxed with plenty of seating. 4. Open spaces - plenty of area for natural light. Plenty of places for little kids to run around - including a playground for the little kids. We had around 190 guests - 40 of which were children. The kids ran themselves ragged. If you want, you can bring or rent lawn games too! 5. The people. The staff are like family. As much of a planner as I am, my wife could not be assured by me. It took the confidence and experience of people like Sarah that would let her be at peace with her plans. They always had a smile on their faces. They recognized my phone number when I called. With the extras of what we wanted set up around the fireplace, the moving of gifts and sign in tables, the set up of the sign in table, the confirmation of the arrival of vendors . . . they told us - just let them take care of it. I've been to two weddings held at Kindred Oaks and both have been beautiful. Kindred Oaks is about 45 minutes outside of Austin near Georgetown. Takes a while to get to but once you are there you are glad you came. The grounds are really beautiful...this is definitely an outdoor venue type of place. Perfect for nature lovers. It's a little rustic but not too much. Both weddings I've been to seated their guests on the front lawn under beautiful trees overlooking a small lake or pond? in the distance. Behind the main house which includes two separate rooms for the bride and groom to get ready is a large covered patio perfect for guests to dine and mingle. There is also a deck like dance floor just beside the covered area. The website says the covered area can be used in case of rain - it is definitely big enough. There is a spot for a dj and a bar and both weddings I've been to have had bands so plenty of room. There is even an enclosed playground for kids just far enough away where you can keep an eye them but not too close to where they bother anyone. This place is beautiful..best appreciated in person. UPDATE: I forgot to mention the handy door to door service. Hey you ladies in your 4" heels, your sweet feet don't have to make the trek on the rocky dirt road to the house. Why you ask? No sooner than you've clicked the remote to lock your car your chariot awaits...ok it's not a chariot but a golf cart but still...you wont bust your ass on the way to seeing them say "I do". read more

I got married at Kindred Oaks in April 2009 and I would tell everyone to book this venue. Not only were they super welcoming of my husband and I they were also on top of everything and so accommodating. It POURED on our wedding day but they did so much to make the day run smoothly and their rain plan turned out better than I think our original plan would have. Elaine, Steve and their staff have a gorgeous venue, lush green lawns, clean well kept facilities and a super romantic honeymoon suit that you get for the night of your wedding. We have such a large group of family and friends it was so hard to find a venue that had everything we were looking for, that was until we found Kindred Oaks. Two of my friends recently got married at this beautiful venue. Oaks is located in Georgetown, TX--about a 30 minute drive from downtown Austin (without traffic). Although there was no formal paved parking lot, there was still plenty of parking space for a party of roughly 150. The wedding ceremony area they had set up was picturesque--overlooking a couple of hills. It kind of reminded me of California--maybe the sunny weather had something to do with it. The other three "major" components of this venue also include a backyard deck for dancing, an outdoor, roof-covered, area for the banquet, and a "LOVE" sculpture behind the open dining area (great for a photo op). From what I understand, catering isn't offered here but the service was so seamless that it seemed like it was. This place is AMAZING. This venue was a candidate for my #1 venue choice. HUGE covered patio. Extremely professional, laid-back owners. Honeymoon Suite for the bride and groom to stay overnight. They have an in-house caterer, so you can't choose your own. I wasn't a huge fan of that rule. Now, the real kicker is that you have to book this venue far in advance. I said, if I wanted to book for September, do you have xyz date open? And they said, you mean for September 2 years from now? We're booked solid. I didn't get to have my wedding here, but I highly recommend you visit Kindred Oaks if you are considering an outdoor wedding. I loved this place. But go NOW. From all the things Kindred Oaks offers that other venues do not, I expected an amazing venue for my wedding. Yes, visually Kindred Oaks is just that- a sight to be seen- but behind the beautiful grounds lies some short-sighted flaws. Communication with the staff at Kindred Oaks was terrible. They returned emails several days later and never returned phone calls. We had some random person we never met attempt to take over the wedding 15 minutes before showtime, and she almost ruined the ceromony because she had no idea what we wanted. Their florist totally flaked on us, and there were several hidden fees not disclosed at the time of the contract. Also, the BRIDE is the boss at a wedding. Not the bride's mother, or sister, or even the groom, but the BRIDE. I made a very specific request to the staff of Kindred Oaks that was completely reasonable, yet they allowed my mother to trump my wishes and didn't even bother to tell me. This oversight caused 6 people to leave my wedding before the reception because they felt unwelcome. Had Kindred Oaks communicated with me, several of my guests wouldn't have made the trek up to Georgetown for nothing. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and if you're going to be in the wedding business, you need to take each one very seriously. I felt like we were treated as an afterthought. Kindred Oaks was the venue I had always imagined for my wedding. Gorgeous green lawn, twinkling lights strung from the trees and that dance floor... that was well beyond what I'd even hoped for. Our guests loved the layout, the dance floor a bit away from the dinner tables so that there was a place to chat away from the music. We were blessed with incredible weather but rain or shine KO was honestly the most beautiful venue I'll ever see. All that being said, the hands-down best part of KO is Elaine Lincoln. She was the reason we booked and the reason that our wedding was as close to flawless as a wedding can be! There was never any pressure to book or to spend extra, when we first met her she told us simply "if you're meant to end up here, you will". And for every question and little panic she and her Staff were there. Emails answered within hours and all calls picked-up. Even when we accidentally brought the wrong sized sparklers, Elaine gave us some of her surplus so we could still do our exit... no extra charge. What a great, intimate wedding venue nestled in the hill country. Went to a wedding this weekend at Kindred Oaks and was blown away by the scenery! I associate hill country wedding venues with a perilous backroad drive and no cell phone signal, but Kindred Oaks had neither. The ceremony was overlooking the lake and had a small waterfall to the side under a tree, which was totally beautiful. The reception area was also outdoors but under a covered pavilion--a nice one at that! As an event planner (Savvy Events), I appreciate a venue that has figured things out. Kindred Oaks is certainly on that list. My first experience with Kindred Oaks was several years ago, when a personal friend was married there. It was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous setting, and it made a lasting impression on me. KO was just as enamored with my friend as she was with them, and they kept her wedding photos displayed onsite for several years. As an event planner, I had the pleasure of meeting Elaine and her staff and working with them. Sadly, the skies opened up the day of our planned wedding... but that didn't faze the staff at all. They moved the ceremony from their beautiful front lawn to their pavilion in the back without batting an eye -- which included moving tables, setting up chairs, and a high level of chaos for a short period of time. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding, and an overwhelmingly large part of that is because of Kindred Oaks. It's just such a calm, quiet and peaceful place to have a wedding and reception, and every detail is accounted for by their wonderful staff. Since Day 1, when we toured the place, Heather, Elaine & the rest of the KO folks have been a joy to work with. Our 30-day walk-through with Elaine helped immensely, and Elaine helped us think through things that hadn't even occurred to us. Then, as our date neared, Elaine & Co were so nice and responsive with my (okay, I admit it) frazzled-bride emails and crazy last-minute questions. We did the package, and we're both so glad we did. It was so nice to have everything handled and coordinated for us, from the food and the bartender to the security guard and the rentals. And the Kindred Oaks coordinator that was on-duty that night handled everything with aplomb. I kept thinking 'did we do that thing...?' only to find out it was already taken care of. The whole process was such a stress-free experience because of it. And we're still getting compliments on how amazing our venue was. Everybody was reeling about how the venue created such a perfectly picturesque, natural and serene setting for the wedding. That night, as we sat in our beautiful honeymoon suite that the staff had adorned with candles, soft music playing and two slices of our wedding cake, I literally cried (true story) because everything was so perfect, everyone was so happy and everything went right. My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at Kindred Oaks, and it couldn't have been better. The staff - particularly Elaine - were professional, very friendly, and frequently checked in throughout the planning process. They made wedding planning very easy, despite us planning from California. The venue is beautiful and has a great rain plan (which we experienced during our rehearsal, when it was pouring).
