There was never a question where we would bring our new dog when she joined our family. We brought our former dogs there all the time. In fact they even told us that our new dog was a "fan favorite." Then we picked her up from a day stay and they very rudely said "thank goodness you're here." They told us she barked too much in the yard and they "have neighbors." Are you kidding me? Go sit in the restaurant parking lot next-door and tell me what you hear, and if you know whose dog is barking in the yard. Do they not expect dogs to bark? I genuinely became concerned in that moment how they would treat her going forward. I couldn't be more pleased with our Groomer Sierra. She is more than patient with our Maltese Ricky. I've been through many groomers that find Ricky too difficult and once was given Ricky back halfway through his haircut for biting. Sierra takes her time with him and gives him breaks when he needs them, and is patient, gentle and kind. We finally scored a winner!! read more

Let me first say after 6 years of loyal business and looking past declining service and rising prices, I will never give this place another dime under any circumstances. We have used this 'resort' as a groomer, dog daycare, kennel for longer stays, etc. The staff were a bunch of young, animal loving rockstars who made the experience seamless especially when there were loads of animals coming and going. The place was clean, people were treated well, and services were worth the cost. Fast forward to now, my dog cannot even go to this place for a day without getting sick. The staff turned over completely and now the people there are at best rude and at worst, disinterested. Not the kind of place I recommend bringing your beloved pet.... Further, despite having a long standing grooming appointment, we get a call 40 minutes before the appointment stating it was cancelled as the groomer 'called out sick.' Fair enough, stuff happens. My wife inquires when we can get her in for a makeup appointment and was told, 'we don't have anything available, we're booked.' Sorry? Cancel an appointment with no warning and then tell us to pound salt when asking for another? Literally never again will I spend a penny at this dump. Find another place (any other place) to bring your furry friends. read more

She did not even give her one dog his medicine because she said he was biting and he needs it because he had a bad heart!!! She should have called her because he could have died. She is never going to bring them there again. You would think the manager would be nice especially dealing with animals. I recently needed to find a dog day care facility in the Wall NJ area- which is how I landed on the Purr'n Pooch website. After reviewing the website and checking out the local competition I decided to try out the Purr'n Pooch facility. The first day of Macy's camp involved some interviewing and luckily she passed so she was able to stay for the rest of the day. This first day of camp was full price (a lot of other dog day cares give you the first day or night free). The total for one day comes to $37 with taxes (my normal camp is $30). I was surprised that the staff did not provide a tour of the facility- so I had to go off the websites pictures to see where my dog would be spending her day. Over all the facility seems beautiful and really nice. The biggest downside- no cameras! I personally love checking in on Macy via live stream at her other day camps. When I picked Macy up I received a score card that told me how she did- apparently this is only given on the first visit. Again- every other day care provided these for every visit. Overall I would only use Purr'n Pooch in a pinch as they were more expensive and lacked a lot of features that are pretty standard. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I switched to Purr N Pooch in Wall from the Grooming Garage in Neptune because it was closer to our house. We only send our dog for grooming because he's afraid of getting his nails cut. I explicitly told them this upon drop off and it was in his profile. We dropped him off, paid $60 plus a $15 tip and weren't told they had a problem cutting his nails. When we got home I noticed that only half his nails were cut, and not even to where they should be....still too long. He has 2 dew claws on his hind paws that are like hooks and a danger to him tearing his loose dew toes off. These weren't cut at all. I emailed them that I wasn't happy with the service, asking for a refund for a nail clipping, as it wasn't done. They told me they couldn't issue a refund, but if we bring him back at 12:00 today, they will finish his nail clipping. We brought him back and offered to help them hold him. They told us, that's not necessary, "we have good people working today", like they gave us someone subpar yesterday? They said he was in line and it would be a while and they'd call us when he's done. We went out to a restaurant nearby for lunch, ordered, and they called before our food came saying we needed to come there because they couldn't trim his nails on their own. We get lunch to go, go back there, offer to help hold him, wait for the manager to tell us that's not allowed and that we can't get any type of refund. I left saying if you want a negative review, that's what you'll get! Back to the Grooming Garage we go! It's pathetic that a dog grooming place of this size can't handle cutting an 80 lb Lab mix's nails! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! read more

We will never have our dog stay here again. First of all, when we checked in, there was barely a welcome. My dog was consistently referred to as a boy despite me stating she was a girl. Twice prior to checking in, in the days before, I had emailed this location to check that nothing else was needed. I had emailed vaccinations when I booked. Despite this, when we checked in they demanded to see vaccination records before they would check her in. Thankfully I had a copy of the emails I had sent on my phone. When we picked her up there was the same cold reception. There was no report on how she did. And the staff ignored us for about 5 mins no acknowledgment. My dog was again referred to as a boy. When we paid the $450 bill for 4 days, I noticed that there was a note on the counter regarding kennel cough. When I asked if they had seen cases the girl said yes quite a few. When I asked if we could pay the $20 they were offering as a cover in case our dog also contracted the same, she told me as we had checked out it was too late. When I commented that we only just noticed it because it was hidden on the counter under our bill and to the side sh3 made it clear it would be a huge inconvenience. We left without the coverage and a few days later my dog became sick with kennel cough. The Tinton Falls site is night and day to this place but we won5 be back. My advice - check out other kennels where they actually care. read more

Just a warning to prospective boarding clients. Make sure you double confirm your reservation. Our 18 lbs. Golden Doodle boarded there this summer for over a week and by all accounts had a fine time. I made a reservation for him for this November and received an email confirm but was told since he turned 14 in September the owners needed to approve. I didn't hear back as promised, so I called again to confirm. I was then told that since had a heart murmur (grade 2) and had turned 14 in Sept, he was considered a "geriatric" boarder and they had no room for him. The dog is very active, is not on any medication, and has no symptoms. A grade 2 murmur according to his Vet is common for these small dogs and not of special concern. As a private business they can do what they want, but be sure you have a double confirmed reservation and you don't run afoul of their inflexible and cold hearted rules. read more

I will NEVER bring my dog here to stay or play. I stopped by to inquire about rates and the learn more about the facility. I had my puppy with me so they could meet her. The staff could not have been more unwelcoming. They barely acknowledged my dog and never offered to give us a tour. They want to charge $35 for a "daycare assessment" before she can even stay there, whatever that means. And their boarding rates don't even include walks or playtime, which you have to pay for separately. I don't like being nickel & dimed when it comes to making sure my dog is in good hands when I'm traveling or need day care. Total rip off for a rude vibe. My dog got hurt here and needed two surgeries because of it. The owner never called to check on him or apologize. But they knew they were in the wrong Bc immediately after they dropped my dog off at the animal hospital, they had a company fixing the fence he hurt himself on. This happened when he was one years old. Now he's 7 and having leg issues and needs more surgeries. I almost want to send the owner the bill of all the doctors visits, chiropractic/acupuncture care, and pain meds. So many of my clients complain about this place.. do not bring your dog here. Saturday we dropped our happy little fur babies off at Purr'n Pooch Pet Resorts in Wall, NJ while we spent time with Mike's family for the week. We expected nothing less than happy, healthy, and tired puppies at pickup. At the end of their 5 day stay, they both had injuries and infections (one dogs condition is pretty serious) awful enough to justify a nearly $400 vet bill and a series of pain medication and antibiotics. To say I am completely disgusted by the way in which this "luxury" facility handled the situation is the understatement of the year. We fully trusted our dogs would be cared for and kept safe, and never dreamed boarding our dogs would end at the animal hospital because of Purr' n Pooch's complete and utter inability to properly care for animals. Also sounds like they've done this to other poor animals as shown in their reviews. PLEASE share and spread the word. DO NOT board your animals here!! read more

Making a reservation the first time was a breeze online, they even let my vet fax over my vaccinations so all I had to do was sign when I initially arrived. Sgt. Pepper loved his stay at Purr and pooch and will be coming back for daycare to make more friends when needed. I even received 2 picture updates during his playtime! An initial tour of the facility would of been nice but was not offered. Pick up time, I was greeted separately by all three receptionists despite their being busy they greeted me with a smile and made it aware that I will be helped in a short time. Pick up and payment was easy. I even received a report card on Sarges first stay! Overall, great experience just would offer initial tours for first timers. Also, as my personal preference, more photos during stay and report cards for every visit ! read more

My grandparents treat their dog like royalty. He gets everything he wants, such a spoiled brat. When a family engagement took everyone to buffalo for the weekend there was no one around to watch their little prince. They dropped him off here at the "luxury pet resort" purr n pooch! Quite fitting. The staff was very friendly and the facility itself is really nice. It even has chandeliers. Cost was $260 for Thursday to Sunday. My grandparents were sent photos on Friday and Saturday of their hound dog playing nicely with the other dogs. I picked him up Sunday morning for them and he seemed like he had a great time. He had a bath just before check out and I was given a "report card" about his behavior, bathroom frequency etc. All around good experience and they plan to drop him off this summer when we do our family shore vacation. read more

It's a no for me. I brought my dog there for the first time today for a "day care eval". Ok. I get there and I say can I take a peek at where she'll be. Girl says no we only do scheduled tours. Ok can I just take a quick peek at the room. No. So I'm supposed to leave my dog all day in a place I've never seen? (No cameras available either which is unheard of in a doggy day care.) Girl says to me I'll give you a tour when you pick up your dog. Place came recommended so I said ok. 4 hours later I come to pick up my dog. A new girl is at the front will not let me take a peek. Scheduled tours blah blah. Won't let me take a look. Hmm why? So you can make it look nice for when the person is coming? So I said fine can I have my dog. Mind you, my dog was literally right next to this girl. I don't know why she was in the front alone but she's literally standing and crying for me right next to the lady. So She goes who are you getting?! Twice. I said SHES RIGHT THERE NEXT TO YOU. The girl goes oh yea she was nervous so I brought her up here. Hun you didn't even know she was there. Mind you, my dog couldn't wait to get out of there said a quick hi to me and bolted toward the door. NEVER AGAIN. BEWARE OF PLACES THAT WONT LET YOU SEE INSIDE AND DONT HAVE CAMERAS. We adopted a 6 year old dog in February with severe seperation anxiety. We basically can't leave the home without this poor dog hurting himself. I used Purr and Pooch years ago for my other dog so I called and they were so good with us. The first few weeks they worked with sweet Sonny to see how he could handle being at the day care. We now drop Sonny off 2-3 days a week and I never have to worry. I know he is safe, loved and feeling secure. I highly recommend Purr'n Pooch to anyone. I have used purr n pooch for 2 years for day care and my dog loves it. He's a rescue that was abused prior to his adoption so he has some trust issues, and is very shy, but actually loves going to purr n pooch and adores the staff. The staff is very communicative with my husband and I and let us know how our dog is doing throughout the day, which is amazing for the worried, nervous pet owner. They are transparent and will give a tour prior to your pets stay, something other facilities do not do. I've tried other doggie daycares in the area that were a bit cheaper with horrible results. Although purr n pooch is a little pricier than others, it is totally worth it. My dog always comes home happy, clean and healthy. read more

But, when waiting to be helped, two women employees kept chatting and ignored me and another customer until I interrupted to ask for help. My dog was bathed and groomed. When I went to pick him up, I was again ignored and the woman sitting at the desk did not even turn around when she knew someone walked in the door. It took too long for her to get my dog who I could hear crying behind the door next to the desk. When I went to open the door, I was yelled at to step away. I have brought my dog here for daycare quite a few times. He stayed with them over night quite a few times as well. They were amazing when I gave birth and my son ended up in the nicu. We called and ask if they could house our dog for almost a week and they were happy to. No questions asked. They said come get him when you are discharged from the hospital. We called Purr'n Pooch & explained our dilemma. After some rearranging, they made room for our 80 lb black lab & basically saved the day. We were stressed out with these last minute changes & worried about leaving our dog somewhere new, but as soon as we met the staff & they were so caring & welcoming we felt so much better. I stopped taking my dog to PNP after almost 2 years. She really loved it there, she's an extremely social dog and loves to be around other dogs. However from what I can gather they basically take every dog, throw them out in the yard and if there's a problem they deal with it then. Not safe. Other day cares evaluate dogs before they accept them. My dog has never had one issue or problem there or anywhere else. They blamed her for starting a dog fight and asked me to pay $40 plus the cost of the day care to let me know whether or not they would take her back. I think it's great to be cautious if there is a problem, but it was handled very unprofessionally. Especially after two years of telling me how great my dog is. I asked to speak to the owner and a manager called me. Then I wrote an email to the owner and the same manager called me back. Who knows if the owner even got any of my communication. After the dog fight incident I decided to check out another dog daycare. I can't believe the difference. PNP does not evaluate dogs before they except them there. The grounds and the yard seem very beautiful in pictures but they're not very welcoming to show you around so you can see where your dog will play and the other dogs theyre with. Their prices are ridiculous. You pay for every little thing. (If you want you can get your dog a tummy rub for $10 or a twilight stroll, I guess around the McDonald's parking lot). Looks good on the outside and they have a good word-of-mouth reputation, but believe me you could do better for your dog. As far as I know my dog doesn't give a rats ass what the place looks like. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I was looking for a daycare close to home since Covid started, for my puppy. We usually take him to All Season's Pet Resort in Freehold. The first day I dropped my dog off the woman who came to the car to get him seemed annoyed and flustered. Then upon picking him up, they bring him outside without any of his gear. They lost his prong collar and leash. Prong collars are expensive and that was $50 worth of stuff they misplaced. They still charged me for that day of daycare but promised they would reimburse me for the items. My dog pulls terribly and is almost 60 pounds so I need the prong collar to walk him. I had to get a brand new one and bring them the receipt. This happened on July and I've spoken to Helen, the manager numerous times and every time she says "The owners are sending you a check." It is now October and no check. They are too expensive and don't know what they are doing. Save your money! read more
