My wife and I scheduled an appointment to purchase a vehicle three days in advance, I spoke with two representatives leading up to the date(2/7/26), we drive two hours to arrive and find out the vehicle was sold the previous day. ZERO call to inform us, ZERO apology, two hour drive for staff to laugh and suggest "just buy one of our brand new ones". They gave me 26500 trade in, more discounts, and cheaper cost for the SAME truck. I CANNOT RECOMMEND KING. They have a reputation for arrogance, catering to important people and no desire to sell to the average person. I call the sales person gave them the news... See e-mail below from my Service Mgr. to Mr. Berry, the Serice Manager at King GMC. Nothing was resolved & I am out $1,600. What a rip-off. Would never recommend King Buick/GMC to anyone. Good afternoon, Mr. Berry! My customer, Mr. Robert Miller, brought his vehicle to you with an issue with the lifters/camshaft. He authorized the teardown, and once disassembled, he was called with the details of the failure. At that time, Mr. Miller provided an extended warranty contract through Capital, and was then advised that you don't accept that warranty. It's unclear why as Capital is our preferred extended warranty contract and they pay Alldata times and by credit card the same day. He paid you roughly $1200 for the teardown, and had it towed to us. As soon as we opened the hood, we noticed the connector on the alternator had been damaged by your technician. He paid $400 for the alternator and Capital paid the rest of the claim. Mr. Miller would like to be refunded for the $400 for the alternator, and the $1200 for the teardown. He feels that the teardown should not have been performed if you don't accept warranties. I agree that it is the advisor's responsibility to discuss these things with our customers before diving into a repair leaving the customer holding the bag. He has already called the CAC and reported this and is prepared to open a Better Business Bureau case to resolve this. I have asked Mr. Miller to give me the opportunity to speak with you and try to resolve this without a BBB case. I know I would prefer that. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH MY LAST SERVICE!!!!!! My husband and I own a 2020 Dura Max with less than 50,000 miles. Took it in for service and asked them to check out some wind noise in the front windshield/door. Well they did check out the wind noise and said that the seal around the windshield must be bad and that I would need to call my Insurance Company to have it replaced. Now mind you there are NO cracks,chips,or anything wrong with the windshield. And on top of all this they had the nerve to charge me $185.00 to diagnose the problem. NOT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DIAGNOSE. After calling the dealership multiple time with no response for a week, my husband was finally able to talk with the Michael in the shop. Well we'll just say I ready to SELL my GMC and go somewhere that doesn't see a lady and just take advantage for her and the situation. I am giving them two stars because the sales person was a nice gentleman and was helpful. I agreed to a price and was a cash customer (cash is suppose to be king right?...pun intended) began signing all the papers and was given an arbitration agreement where i was to forfeit my constitutional right to a court hearing and trial by jury if the sale resulted in a legal dispute. Instead, i was to sign and agree to the decision of their arbitrator on any dispute. What the heck ever happened to a level playing field? I felt like i was being asked to play poker against a dealer with a stacked hand. They explained a problem from years ago that prompted them to do this. But ask a customer to waive their lawful rights. I thought only criminals were asked to waive their rights, so are customers there to be treated like criminals. Do they really feel all customers are out to get them? I was not but i was treated as a devious person before the fact. All they had to do is strike and change one word in the agreement and i would have signed it, or allowed to sign under protest, they would not agree to ANY compromise. I was really shocked since i have had similar business deals in the past where the other party simply re worded a few words so we were both happy and the deal was done This dealership would rather keep the playing field against you and in their favor than compromise and sell a vehicle. Well, me and my cash walked out, since selling cars is obviously not their FIRST priority. Everyone there was nice and respectful but they are not willing to meet a customer half way and that is their loss. Brought the sig-o's ride here for some scheduled maintenance, and to check out an intermittent check engine light. Everyone from the service advisors to the cashiers was friendly, and they performed the work requested with minimal fuss and at a reasonable price. My name is Lorie Stokes. I am posting this hoping it will motivate someone at King to actually call me.. I will start this with my entire family has always used King for new car purchases and never had any issues in that regard. This review is for the collision center. At the urging of my insurance company I used King to repair my Jetta after a deer hit it. My insurance said that king was on their list of certified shops and guaranteed their work 100 percent. This was the 1st week of Sept, 2020 The staff were very helpful and friendly initially. this is the short version..Basically i was called to pick up my car the first part of november. I did not take the car because I instantly noticed the moulding was not on correctly around the doors. ( they had to order it) jump to December car is ready PIck it up. drive it down the road instantly notice the horrible wind noise and a loud clunking when opening and closing rear door. I also notice that the moulding inside and out are not on correctly. Take the car back. mid decemeber car is ready. Go to pick car up this time and the actual door has a gap in it. Was told that was the only way it would line up for the door to shut properly without the clunking. I told them absolutely not. Left the car. January.. car is ready again.. I open the door and the moulding is incorrect . Had big gaps in it. Austin tells me he can't do anything else and calls his manager. Manager comes out and is an absolute @$$.. I take the car home to keep from going to jail (lol) I contact my insurance company. I get a call from Austin a few days later telling me to bring car back.. They are going to redo everything . . Here is the kicker. I had placed clear packing tape on the moulding inside of my car ( to keep it from popping up) I get a call end of Feb that once again my car is done.. I was assured that they had actually driven the car to check for the wind noise. That all moulding was new and replaced. After leaving I notice instantly the wind noise is horrible. My windshield moulding was not fixed. Pretty sure they took all of the "guts' out of my door. same moulding is on the car and still not placed properly. The tape I put on it is still on the trim "they replaced" . I could go on and on... I cant even uses my seat belts in the back seat. I contacted my insurance company was told someone would be calling me from King. Going on week 3 and have heard nothing. I am very disappointed in the work .. Unfortunately, I tried this dealership not knowing they were selling me trash. I had major issues with this truck from the being. It has been in the shop now for three weeks. I was having a issue with my car recently. I went to this location to have my car looked at. None of my lights reflected a issue but the transmission felt as though it was slipping. After being "checked" i was told nothing was wrong. Come back when the light comes on. I was charged 140.00 for nothing basically. If they knew the could not get a accurate reading with lights not indicating why take my vehicle in the first place? The issue continues and I had another shop look it and i had no transmission fluid in my car. Something as simple as no transmission fluid. Now these are trained technicians. I purchased my 2017 Yukon Denali from a dealership located over one hour's drive away from home. It isn't practical to drive that far to get regular maintenance for my truck. I am a firm believer in having the dealership take care of the maintenance for my vehicles. Nice vehicles are so expensive nowadays. It isn't worth taking chances by having just anybody work on them. I was very anxious about taking my truck to a new dealership so, I called first. A very nice young man named Gabe was so helpful and polite over the phone. After arriving at King Cadillac-Buick-GMC, I was lucky enough to actually meet Gabe in person when it was my turn to ask for service. I brought my OnStar monthly report that listed the current issues and gave it to Gabe. He was genuinely interested in the OnStar report and used it to write up the service order. It only took one hour for the service to be completed. The waiting area was nicely furnished and comfortable. The information on my truck was easily accessed through King's computer system. All of the very first regular maintenance items were handled - first oil change and tire rotation, hoses, and fluid levels checked, etc. My truck purchase included two free maintenance visits. Today's service didn't cost a thing. It was free at a dealership that didn't sell me the truck! Gabe wouldn't even let me walk to get my truck when it was ready. He said "No, ma'am, I'll get it for you." Gabe brought my truck right to me. He even explained exactly how to drive out of the service area and where to turn and what street I'd end up on. Oh, my goodness! The service visit to a new dealership I was dreading turned into one of the most pleasant experiences! Everyone was friendly and helpful. After spending so much of my hard earned money to this place for repairs, i took my car their because my passenger side mirrow fell off, which they replaced before. Because of their policy to stand behind their parts, but not after 12,000 miles they wanted to charge me for the same thing that they where suppose to have fixed the first time. Had the worst experience ever at King Cadillac. After a 3 hour drive to view a car a King Cadillac a car was found that met my specifications. However the price was to be negotiated due to areas on the vehicle that were not up to par. The salesman said they would not reduce the price or provide newer tires as the ones on the vehicle were peeling (rubber coming off ); they also would not replace a missing part in the trunk, they would not replace a bent rim on the front tire and they would not reduce the price. Without a price reduction I decided to leave a continue my search for another vehicle. The following day, I received a call from the salesman stating he really wanted the sale and they have decided to reduce the price of the car. The price was to my satisfaction thus I agreed to come the following day to purchase the vehicle. Later in the day I received a call saying we should wait until Monday when the shop was open and so they could put new tires on the car. I subsequent call stating that they would not clean the car or do anything until they were sure I had financing. I provided them with my bank information and they verified the funds were available for the purchase of the car. Arrangements were made for me to get the car the following Mon as opposed to Friday...the explanation was there would be more time to prepare the car for delivery. I agreed. After speaking with the salesman the following Monday, it was agreed that the car would be ready. I took the 3 hour drive to get the car only to find that the car was not ready and there shop would be closing, thus, I had to wait another day. How absurd. This is not the way to do business. Finances were checked and everything in order and they would not clean the vehicle up (at least that is there story) until I purchased. It is clear something else was going on...we never got to see the vehicle and no one ever came to greet us from the finance department....you would think someone like the sales manager would have come to speak with us...that did not happen. I tell this story to tell you, I was warned and did not listen to a stranger who advised me to stay away from KINGS and I had a deaf ear...Now I am telling you...DO NOT USE KING CADILLAC IN FLORENCE SC...YOU WILL BE DOOPED. read more
