Great concert venue! They are very organized and have a free large parking lot with attendants who help to guide you. Inside, seats are comfortable and roomy. Experience: I came to two shows two nights in a row. On Sat we saw Get The Led Out, which is a Led Zeppelin cover band. They were amazing. Then on Sun we saw Matt Matthews who was so fun and hilarious. Both nights we got there about 7:00 and the shows started at 8:00. Parking was no issue... we got some good spots. For the music concert, they had a food truck outside and the outside bar set up for drinks too. The food truck was 40 South and they had the best brisket tacos I ever had. The next night for the comedy show, they didn't have a food truck, and I purposely waited to eat so I could get some more tacos. Such a disappointment. I got a piece of old dried out pizza and some popcorn, because that's all they were offering. I am marking down 1 point for the food at the King Center. They need to have a food truck every night! The first night the people that work there were so nice and helpful. The second night most of the people were very nice and helpful again, except we had VIP after the show for a meet and greet, and we went where we thought they told us to go. There was one gentleman standing at the back door and when we asked, he wasn't sure where we go. We still hung around that door, because we were in the general area where the ladies at the beginning told us. Many people came up to ask him, and he kept saying he didn't know. Turns out, that was the right door to go to. They really needed to put someone on the door that knew where the meet and greet was so people weren't so confused. Other than that, it is a nice little place to see concerts and shows. There really not a bad seat in the house since it's kind of a small stage and seating. Very poor communication with the general public when it comes to refunds and or cancelations. Never answering an email or phone call for weeks, and then allowed for the seats (that were front row and easily sold go unused as I was ill). Also, there was a refusal to take a call from the head of the Center so I could plead my case. i never have any ill will or rarely have negative things to say, but in this case and the value, I feel very mislead and never communicated with except for slow emails. Had a great time seeing Frankie Valli but the sound was a bit off so the vocals were quieter than the instruments, I would recommend that if you go you have seats either way up front or upstairs to be able to see!! They have lots of parking but a good portion of the lights were out I arrived and was attempting to find my seats when an attendant bolted out of the doors and yelled at me "YOU CAN'T GO IN YET!" Ok so I guess I will wait out here...? This volunteer attendant was clearly under the influence and could use some more training. I have read the reviews here on The King Center and couldn't disagree with many of them any more than I do. This is a local, university theater that sits somewhere around 2500, not Madison Square Garden or a Vegas review location. Despite its small size and semi-rural location, they have brought in some great talent. I have seen Gerry Vale, Franki Valli, Bowser, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, Fiddler, Johnny Maestro, Classic Albums Live, Jesus Christ Superstar and many, many more there. Rarely disappointed and when I was it was the talent, not The King Center. Went last night and saw Paul Anka. Despite being 82 years old, he sang without flaw for 2 hours singing much of his early stuff (Diana, Puppy Love, Head on My Shoulder) plus music he wrote for Streisand, Parton, Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Johnny Carson and so many more. He closed the show with My Way and an encore of New York, New York. He spent a good amount of time walking up and down the aisles taking selfies with members of the audience while still singing! If you go there ... or anywhere here in Melbourne area ... expecting to have the quality you get in a big city, you are just plain wrong. May I suggest you take I-95 North! read more

Every single person working that we interacted with at this place was super friendly and helpful. They were all so welcoming, appreciative and helpful in navigating our first time here. This is a small venue which means it's pretty great for watching a performance. Luckily, I was able to snag a few front row seats for comedian Steven Wright. Nobody assaulted him so it was a successful show by 2022 standards. Their concessions have a few options, but what's cool is they make a special drink for each event. The "Comic Relief" on this night was basically an iced coffee with whiskey in it. I felt like I was at work, but enjoyed it anyway. I would not hesitate to go here again for a show. We had food and drinks at Long Dogger's beforehand and it's so close that you can manage your time wisely, although traffic in this section of town didn't seem to be too bad. read more

I attempted to buy ticket to the upcoming Cheap Trick show and could not buy a ticket. Multiple attempts with multiple credit cards were rejected. I then called the box office and was at first wrongly informed that the tickets had not went on sale. When I explained I had a presale code, I was then told that out of state orders would not be accepted because they believe out of state buyers are ticket scalpers. I then explained that I was not a scalper I was just a fan who loved the band, the woman said to me "that's what happens when you scalp tickets." I have never scalped tickets in my life. When I questioned her attitude she began arguing with me more. This venue made it very clear they did not want me to attend a concert at their facility. This is the most hostile unfriendly venue I have encountered in over 35 years traveling to concerts. Attended a graduation at the auditorium this past weekend. This was my first time here. There was ample parking. The auditorium is a nice midsize place. My only annoyance is that they have a clear bag rule. If you don't have a clear purse you will not be able to enter. I had to walk back to my car and put my purse in the trunk. This theater is located at the Eastern Florida State College and has that "school auditorum feel," but is clean and well-kept. Not super fancy or extravagant as some other theaters, but they have some good productions featuring the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, plays, and other features. They are currently doing temperature checks and limited seating for COVID-19 mitigation. They have free parking as well as purchased VIP parking if desired. My favorite thing to do is grab a bite at the local Longdoggers across the street and then catch the show that I'm watching. read more

First time visit last night. Despite the prior reviews, this place is fantastic. I bought preferred parking for $15 which made it convenient for parking and leaving in a timely manner. The lighting, stage screen, mics, and speakers sounded terrific. No issues hearing vocals. The seating isn't as crowded as the prior reviews mentioned. I had plenty of elbow space. Each section of the theater on the bottom had easy exits that lead into a hallway for bathrooms and concessions. At the end of the night, these also featured exits out of the building, which was a real highlight and made leaving a breeze. Bathrooms exist on the top and bottom, so I experienced very short waits to use the facilities. All of the personnel there was very friendly and asked several times if they could assist me. We recently saw an awesome show at this center featuring John Tesh. We had seen John Tesh 10 years ago at the King Center and it was also amazing. The King Center is a not-for-profit and they're currently completing renovations in phases. The first phase has been completed and includes the entry, lobby, and concession area. The center is very clean and has an elegant feel, and the parking is free. The associates working the show were very friendly and informative and happy to be there. The facilities are great! The staff was great! The show and views from our seats were great! The chairs are an obvious attempt to squeeze out every square inch of profit from the given real estate at the expense of the comfort of the customers. I was warned but didn't listen. I will NEVER return to the King Center for a show, and will let everyone I know to not waste their time unless they like having a stiff back and the elbows of the people next to you in your ribs. This venue is very good for the area but it is not without it's flaws. First of all, the cons. The seating is very close from one row to the next. If you find yourself in the middle, you will undoubtedly find yourself making new friends if you decide on a last minute drink, snack or bathroom visit before the show starts. The parking here is problematic as well. They offer paid parking and, for larger shows, it is worth it since it dumps you out in a different area than the free parking. I would highly advise anyone coming to the show to park backed in. Everyone being in such a rush after the show and the bottleneck to get out combine for a frustrating crawl and near-death experience each time I've come here. You can order the paid parking online but I believe it has a 24-hr prior to restriction on the site. Pros now. They do a very good job of bring a variety of acts to the place. From crass comics to jazz musicians, rappers to rockers, they do some solid booking throughout the year. Not every show will be your personal jam but give them time and something will come your way. TV's for the balcony section. Yeah, being in the top section blows but it sure is nice when you can see the face of that person who is just a speck down below. They have two large screens up in the balcony area. The camera crew does a decent job tracking everything. Mixed The lobby is very busy with multiple drink and snack stations, as well as souvenirs. It's just too narrow to have everyone enter the building and then hit the butt end of the lines. Nice reminder to grab a drink but weaving in and out of optimistic and impatient drunkards is not always fun. They have a killer cinnamon pecans and almonds vendor though. $4 for one or $7 for two. Crown Club. You can join this illustrious group of ticket buyers if the mood suits you and the shows lean more to your liking but, for most of us, it's pretty steep for what you get. What do you get? Depends on how far your pursestrings fly. Some of the perks include being able to purchase tickets several days before mere mortals [mwah-ha-ha!], free parking in the paid parking, drink vouchers and more. Be forewarned my eager friend, some of the prices are significantly over $1000. Is the front row for Yanni something you absolutely NEED? Cash is king (pun intended). Just bring cash to the show. It will make your life easier in so many ways if you want to buy something. read more

There are so many good things to say about the King Center. The parking is easy and convenient. The acoustics are great. The volunteers go out of their way to be helpful. The drink lines move quickly. Even, with all that going for it, the security company they have contracted with is so horrible that they negate everything else. We were there for a Bonnie Raitt concert and watched the security belittle and harass the customers. We saw one rent-a-cop all but tackle and older man in a walker for taking a picture with his cell phone. Granted, they asked for no pictures/videos during the show, but a reasonable person would approach an octogenarian with a tap on the shoulder and a reminder. There was no reason to treat him like he'd just robbed a bank. On our way out, we overheard a bunch of the security guards laughing about taking phones away from the old farts. The King Center would do well to remember that a lot of those "old farts" are the ones that make the donations that keep them in business. I fly into Melborne to see mom for a three day weekend. She needs a few things, I'm more than happy to run around and help. (What she needs takes me 90 minutes) So we have all this free time. She says, I could swim in the pool all day, What am I 14? We watch the Judges on TV and some show called "Baggage". where all of the contestants have suitcases with their "baggage" like a woman who still plays with dolls. I'm slowly going out of my mind.. Then, a neighbor comes by and says: I have front row tickets to see the music group Chicago. Would you like to go? Would I like to go? YESSSSSSSSSS We pull up and there are people directing parking. It's free?? (Love Florida) It's not a huge venue, the seats aren't 360 degrees around the stage. The seats are all forward facing the stage. I'm reading these past reviews, air quality issues? First time ever going there and let me just say, their bag policy or better yet the "let's be rude to new customers because we really don't want them to return" policy could be delivered in a kinder less obstructive way. I don't need to be harassed a couple of times because my bag was 2 inches over the size limit and I had feminine products in it, which quite honestly, a "clutch" wouldn't be able to hold along with a phone. The weather was terrible outside as well, who's going to lug their valuables in the rain ? About 60% of the volunteer workers at this location crowd certain areas and treat guests that don't necessary fit their crowd like they're unwelcome. I'd rather spend a few extra dollars for a venue that treats folks with kindness than this place full of ignorant and miserable "volunteers." Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere until they get better management. read more

We always see great shows. The sound system and seating are fine. For some reason there is no mens rooms on the right side. They were very non handicap friendly. We had seats on the far left. The only way to access them in a walker was the elevator on the far right and tp walk across 40 seats or to walk up flights of stairs. We opted for the stairs which was very precarious. However, the experience at the King Center was not pleasant at all because the temperature in the auditorium had to be in the low 60's or high 50's. Needless it was not enjoyable at all. And 62 years of going to concerts I have never been told you're not allowed to dance in front of your seat and or stand up so if you want to dance at a concert because you're loving the music do not go here, you'll be harassed by the staff continuously. Apparently you're only allowed to stand when everyone else does, so if there's a majority of standing, then you can do it there's rules for thee but not for me syndrome there. Tip - Cash only! Wow, and not a good wow. My first experience at the King Center was to see Aaron Lewis on a Monday evening. The show started at 7:30 p.m. We arrived approximately 30 minutes prior to the show starting. Parking was easy and FREE. It was a nice surprise as I was expecting to pay. Also, going through security and entering the King Center was a breeze. Then it went downhill... First, the lines for drinks were outrageous. Long lines are expected however, the amount in of time in line was way too long. 25 minutes to get a drink! There were 3 bars. There were two "bartenders" managing the bar we were in line for. The one gentlemen was working his butt off. However, the lady working with him was of no help whatsoever. I am not sure what her job was other than smile at the customers and make sure the napkins were replenished. The workload between the two was very unbalanced. Because of the outrageously long time waiting in line we missed the first 5 to 10 minutes of the opening act. We had great seats up on the balcony, BB, 2nd row in. However, when the show broke for intermission we had to walk downstairs and wait in another 25 minute line. Thankfully, Aaron Lewis came on approximately 15 minutes later than intended. Otherwise, we again would have missed an opening. From my view, the reason for the long lines was strictly understaffing. I am not sure if the individuals bartending are employees or volunteers. This is one reason I do not plan on returning to this venue. Second, it was extremely warm in the common areas. We spent a lot of time down there waiting in line for drinks. I wore a 3/4th sleeve shirt thinking I'd be prepared since most venues are rather chilly. Both my boyfriend and I were very warm. Last, the architect really should have put a middle row in the seating. 58 seats in a row without a break is tough. Luckily, Aaron Lewis was amazing and saved the night from being just meh. read more

I have been here a few times over the years, but not since the renovated the interior. It's a nice venue, even though everything is a bit sterile, although you come here to see shows, not the ambiance. They have several drink stations in the lobby and the lines move rather quickly. They definitely need more bathrooms, however, especially after the show, figure a 15-minute wait for the Mens room- I can't even imagine the wait in the Womens. The building is beautiful, the parking has improved over the years, and the shows are great. I would give the King Center 5 stars if it weren't for the terrible staff. I have a feeling they're volunteers, but I'm not too sure. Whether this is a career or community support, they should be friendlier. The staff should be trained to be nicer and to smile a little bit. Every event I've attended, the ushers treated ticket holders like cattle, aggressively forcing us into our seats. They are unhelpful, and answer questions in a demeaning tone. When they do answer your questions, they use the Socratic method. I'm not an idiot--I just don't know the facility like you do, and would like some answers, not questions to my questions. The ushers scowls and scoffs turn the beautiful performances touring at this facility into rotten engagements. I would rather drive to Orlando to see the same event than to deal with the curmudgeons at the King Center. read more

The King Center prides itself on providing the safest concert experience in America. The venue recently installed walk-through metal detectors suitable for any airport and require emptying of pockets along with searching of purses/bags. Along with these security items, the King Center has a plethora of personnel in attendance so all patrons can feel secure. Now, I'm all for security but to visit for a show and feel like Big Brother is in my hip pocket the whole time is a bit disconcerting. In addition, the bar was closed before the main act was half finished. Sound was great and we appreciated that. So, to conclude, I am sure that the King Center works for many - we, however, will venture elsewhere. read more

The King Center should call the Little River Band performance on November 23rd and "Tribute" band. By not doing this you are charging a higher price for a fraud band. They somehow won a court case to call themselves the LRB, but not one is an original member. One guy joined the band 5 years after they started and played base for a few years. No original singers. No original songwriters. None of the performers now are even Australian. This band cut one album together, but they did not write any of their music. You're going to have some pissed off customers after this concert. read more

Although the venue is created to just entertain for shows and plays. I found that the food and drink service was terrible and lacks everything to complete the full experience of an evening out! After paying almost $155.00 to see Joe Bonnomassa, I couldn't buy a simple bottle of water during the event!!! What the hell? There are a few other issues that we started realizing as the night went on. The acoustics in the "upper" teer, were not as clear as you'd expect. As a matter of fact, the vocals were over driven by the instruments and muddled by the mixture of poor EQ of the room and timing issues presented by the height and distance from the stage. I paid for the high quality of vocals and instruments to be differentiated and clear, sorry I wasn't impressed with the venue all the way around. Take my money is all that it did!! Just left the king center after seeing Dave Koz 20th holiday anniversary concert. I must say it was a fantastic show, the venue itself is very nice, plenty of staff, very clean ,cash only bar. The only reason I gave 4stars only cause the bathrooms, women all the way on one side men on the other side. There are no bathrooms upstairs so when there a break the line is HUGE. The lines for the bar inside are absurd; people try and skip, there's no regulation if this happens, there's one bartender at each bar who is fast, but another is still needed, and it is cash only! I have been to king center for over 20 shows and find the venue to be very uncomfortable. 1. I believe they have an air quality issue. As soon as I am in the auditorium I feel tired and woozy (and not from drinking)! As soon as I leave I feel better. Now my girlfriend has noticed the same thing! 2. Seats are narrow and so packed in that people on each side of me are leaning on me! 3. If the performers don't tell the audience to stand up and someone does it becomes a major scene and ushers will tell you to sit down! Come on, it's rock and roll ! Just not a real good vibe for rock.
