This is my local laundromat/dry cleaners that I've been frequenting for about 13 years now. I admit that my non-fashion choices prohibit me from commenting on the dry cleaning service but I think I have adequate experience to give this place an honest review in regard to DIY laundry. The machines are more than adequate to do their job, provided you've fed them a suitable detergent, sufficient alms and aren't trying to clean tar or dragon's blood from your favourite comforter. Also note, some stains just don't come out and some detergents don't suit the task. And so long as you're aware of what you're doing and how many loads you have going, it's quite easy to remember to bring all your clothes with you when you leave. Sure, their folding tables are literal folding tables and the space is tight but even on busy days I've never not had room to work. There are often a couple of machines out of order but they have quite a few of them so again, no problem. My actual rating would be between 4 and 5 stars but they get 5 because of other reviewers trying to ruin the reputation of an already low income business. Had CB been paying attention, that unfortunate event wouldn't have happened but nope, pass on the responsibility. At least they rated them a 3. AMD, on the other hand, with their childish 1 is a lot to unpack so I won't because this is a review of King's Cleaners and all I can say about them is that I doubt they'll be missed. King Cleaners is efficient and reliable with regard to dry cleaning. However I do not recommend the coin laundry: work area is small and cramped; appliances are very old and often break down. I patronised this location regularly for years, until the occasion that I accidentally left some laundry in a double-load washing machine. The following day I was astonished when the employee who discovered it casually informed me that he had tossed the entire damp load into the "lost" bin. Unsurprisingly, many items were taken away by customers, the remainder crumpled and malodorous. It is reasonable to expect the employee would at the very least have set aside the forgotten items for the customer. An employee with a decent work ethic and customer service focus would also have dried and folded the items. Appalled at the employee's callous behaviour, I never returned to King for either coin laundry or dry clean service. The owner of this establishment is a very pleasant older man who apparently has no intention to compete with the many coin laundromats in Guelph that that offer newer, more efficient appliances and consistently polite & helpful staff. Perhaps he is just "phoning it it" until he retires. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I brought a bridal dress to king cleaners that had little stains towards the bottom of the dress. The worker at the time pointed the stains out and said they would get them out. When I went to pick it up the stains were still there and the employee told me there was no "special ticket" on the dress to address the stains. He told me to call the next day to speak to the owner. The next morning I called back and spoke to the owner. I explained to him the stains were still there, the employee told me there was no "special ticket", and I had to leave for the wedding next day. I was maid of honour so I would be in a lot of pictures. On the phone he told me he would wash it again for me and have me pick it up the following morning. When I brought the dress in, he hung it up and claimed there was a special ticket on it. He told me he couldn't wash it again claiming it could be ruined and told me he would only wash it for me AFTER the wedding. He was unbelievably rude and had me come in for nothing! I brought it to K Cleaners who were AMAZING, took a rushed job and got all of the stains out. They told me there was absolutely no way washing it again would ruin it. Do not go to King cleaners and waste any money. Go to K Cleaners! read more

King Cleaners is my go to whenever I have a tough garment related problem. They have completely restored my pricey winter parka when I got it covered in grease, done complicated alterations for multiple formal dresses, and removed many day to day stains (like Sriracha and red wine) from some of my favourite items. I have always found the staff to be courteous and attentive, and I like that they are considerate of their environmental impact. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends or family. read more

I have just got home from going to the store on Gordon Street to wash my queen size comforter. The store is very cold and while I was waiting, the girl working there came over and asked me if I thought the temperature in there was 16 degrees or less because she didn't have to work if it was. I told her I didn't know but it was definitely cold. When my wash was done, the stains on my comforter were still there and I went to ask her to come and see them so that she could tell the owner. She was on the phone talking to someone about the temperature and asked if I could wait. I said sure but after a few minutes I walked back to the counter. Another customer was there, she was no where to be seen and the other customer rang the bell several times. She came out finally and took care of him and mumbled something to me. She was upset, I assume from being cold and I started to tell her about a time a few years ago...that was as far as I got. She said I don't want to hear any stories and started to walk away. I said I'm trying to be nice and she said "You're not being nice, you're being demanding!" I am still in shock. I said I just wanted her to see that the machine didn't do the job. She walked over, never even looked and yelled how much money do you want! I said I don't want any money, I just wanted you to see it so you could tell the owner. She said he never does anything. I took my soaking wet comforter and came home. While I was there, one customer complained about a dryer that didn't work and when I first came in, a customer was complaining about some alterations (I think). The place also had a bad smell.
