While I had an excellent sales experience at King Kia of Laurel- thanks to Donny, who was phenomenal- I was completely dissatisfied with the finance process. It's important for potential buyers to hear the full picture. I came in well-informed having done my internet research ahead of time. The sale price of the 2025 Kia Sportage Prestige I wanted was clearly advertised on the dealership's website. However, when it came time to finalize the paperwork, the deal was written based on the MSRP-not the advertised price- and then padded with additional fees. Among them were charges for ceramic detailing and an extended warranty, both of which I explicitly declined multiple times. While the detailing was eventually removed, I was told the extended warranty could not be removed without increasing my interest rate. I've since spoken with both a consumer protection agency and a lawyer, and they confirmed that this is not only misleading but could potentially violate the Truth in Lending Act. The most alarming part came after I purchased the car on Saturday and returned on Monday to request that the loan be corrected. I discovered that nearly $12,000 had been added to my loan principle-essentially rendering my $20,000 down payment meaningless. After watching employees walk past me for over an hour, someone finally addressed me. I was told they would either issue me a refund check or rewrite the loan by today. However, today came and went with no update. My phone call was not returned, and I am left feeling ignored and deeply frustrated. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable. While I would absolutely recommend working with Donny for the sales side, I cannot recommend financing through King Kia of Laurel. If you're considering buying here, be vigilant-review every document thoroughly, don't sign anything under pressure, and strongly consider securing outside financing read more

I went to Laurel Kia to test drive (and perhaps purchase) a specific car -- an "Alien" Soul. Jamal Allen greeted me, heard what I wanted to do, and was quick to show me a few they had on the lot. He answered questions that I had and offered to let me test drive one without any hesitations or red tape. After driving the one that was easy to access, I realized the one that had all the luxuries I wanted was trapped behind several cars. When I told Jamal I wanted to actually test drive the one I might purchase, he happily agreed. Never once did I feel he was impatient or pushy. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all questions that I had. When I came back a two days later, he had everything all ready for me, including the paperwork. Jamal was also the one to point out a big discrepancy in my credit scores (one very high -- and accurate -- and two average), encouraging me to get my credit report and find out what was going on (I have since then found out that I have been a victim of identity theft. Thanks to Jamal pointing out a concern, I am now taking care of that issue). Not only did Jamal make my experience easy, so did the financial manager (I believe her name is Davila Steel). She went quickly through the paperwork, asking if I had questions along the way, gave me all the options and, also, wasn't pushy with trying to get me to purchase extra warranties. She simply told me what they offered, gave her opinion, and let me decide. Then Jamal gave me a quick "tutorial" of my new car and off I went! He made it clear I could contact him about any questions I had in the future. The entire experience was a good one! read more

I've had my used vehicle for about 7 months. The vehicle has been okay, but I found out there were a lot of repairs that laurel kia should have made prior to selling me this vehicle. The muffler was loose and I had to fix that amongst other things under the hood. This vehicle should not have passed state inspection. I took it back to laurel kia a month after I purchased it. I had taken it in for an oil change and another prominent dealer told me that there were a lot of problems with the vehicle and it should not have passed inspection. I took it back to laurel kia and the service manager was completely rude and not helpful. He pretty much said the sale is final and there's nothing they can do. I took it up to the general manager who provided help and offered to fix some of the problems that would cause it not to pass inspection. It had a leaking transmission line, missing bulbs, and other major things under the hood. They fixed the line and replaced the bulbs, but they said there weren't any other issues *shocker*. The muffler has been rather loud since i purchased it, but i thought that was normal for this brand. Apparently the muffler has been loose since i purchased it and officially came loose completely. Another out of pocket expense. Since i had that fixed it is much quieter and sounds like it should. I will never purchase another vehicle from here. They just want to get the used cars off of the lot. Live and learn! read more

We bought our 2011 Kia Sorento (new) several years ago from Laurel Kia and were very satisfied with their great customer support. Our sales person, Tae Yeon, ensured that we were happy with our car. Tae's General Sales Manager, Alex Nowak, was also very supportive. Naturally when we needed another car a few weeks ago (our 2011 Kia Sorento was totaled by a deer), we went directly to Laurel Kia. Tae Yeon was still there and so was his General Manager, Alex Nowak. We bought another Kia Sorento (used 2013) and have been quite happy with the support they have provided. They have great teamwork in that dealership that I have not seen in others (we've owned other cars in past). I had visited several other Kia dealerships and was getting the typical runaround from them with prices so exorbitantly high because of the high demand for this SUV.
