While we waited I enjoyed the whimsical wall murals and people watching. Once we received our food, I happily dug in. The chili on the hot dog was unique, with corn mixed in. We were warned it would be spicy, but as Texans, we didn't find it spicy at all--though we did think it was quite tasty. The "tiny" order of fries was delicious and definitely not small in our eyes, though after seeing the massive portions others received, I suppose it was. We kept eating and eating them and still couldn't finish them. The banana shake was the perfect ending to our meal. I hope I get to eat at Scooters again. Another got a generous bowl of chili, cooked to perfection. Pricing was way out of line with the quality. You had to pay extra for onions and cheese on top of the chili. You even paid extra for allergy substitutions. Nickel-and-dimed for basics at lake-house prices. The issues started early. One of our group has severe allergies. Soon after she started her soup, she had an allergic reaction. To avoid embarrassment, I quietly got up to find our server. I let her know our friend was very ill and we needed to leave for the boat immediately. She didn't notify a manager or come to the table. She actually took another table's order right in front of us while our friend sat there in pain trying not to cause a scene. Separately, I told our server at the start that I wanted to buy the Captain his Key Lime pie -- his favorite -- and have it served right after his meal. That didn't happen. We were left waiting at the table for the Captain's dessert while the rest of us had already checked out and were ready to head back to the boat. When I asked about it, the server barked at me defending why it took her so long, even though I told her when she took my order to have it ready and served when the Captain finished his lunch. When I was checking out with the Captain, the manager -- I believe her name was Alesia -- knew right away we were upset and offered to help. I told her I'd prefer to write a Yelp review. She offered her name and number to talk further. I don't want her thinking we're fishing for a gift card -- this isn't the first time we've been disappointed with service or food quality. On another visit they overcharged us for a slice of Key Lime pie that tasted worse than Aldi's. Aldi's was better. At a lake/boathouse spot, Key Lime pie should be a standout, not an afterthought. Bread basket was one of the highlights. Not many other food complaints from the group because we know the menu and what to order vs. avoid. Biggest issue: how the allergy situation was handled, charging extra for allergy substitutions, and staff attitude. When a guest is in distress, that has to come before taking new orders.

Their selection of grab n' go food items is great and they have a well stocked array of cold drinks as well as a beer cave. Sheetz is my go to for gas. It's usually less expensive than most places. The car wash is really cool, has flashing led lighting, sort of like a rave up in there. But be wary of feeding the machine a $10 for the $9 car wash. You won't receive your $1 back. Otherwise, go to Sheetz. You'll thank me later!

While waiting we enjoyed cocktails in the 3d floor bar. The decor throughout the building were fun and hilarious. Lots of mannequins dressed in bizarre outfits and posed in various positions. There were even swings at the bar and on the outside patio. There was a bar menu available offering sandwiches including a lobster roll with a cup of lobster bisque. We were seated in the covered patio and served a delicious meal of all-you-can-eat crab legs and walleye and lobster bisques. Food was fresh and served hot. Our Server, Megan was Awesome and kept the crab legs coming. I gave 4 stars since our walleye was delayed and didn't come out until we were almost done eating. Definitely worth a visit.
