Food is good but a tad expensive. For example, 4 bottles of Chobani Yogurt costs $8.99 but other stores costs $5.00.

Bakery is well stocked and honestly the quality is pretty good. Love their crumb cakes!

This Bakery does not disappoint. I wanted a nice dessert to enjoy with coffee at a friends house but I didn't want to spend a whole bunch- the cream filled crumb is a must have! For $11 it was a steal. We all went crazy over it. Crumb cake was delicious and the whipped cream/ pudding in the center pushed it over the edge. I highly recommend and will be trying the other enticing desserts I saw there too. read more

I wrote a 1-star review that I am changing to a higher stars because of the way the complaint was handled by management. The issue was the staff refusing to wear a mask. One of the employees, the younger Ms. Lorenzo, would not keep her mask on, she kept taking it off to talk, as if spreading her germs to customers would help. I asked her very nicely to put her mask on. Ms. Lorenzo said "If you are so fearful, GO HOME!!!" Then stormed off to the back where she could hide with Vicki the bookkeeper. After I wrote my first review, the younger Lorenzo's mommy Jeanine Lorenzo and daddy John Lorenzo called me at home, and stalked me on Instagram, Facebook, and here on Yelp, threatening me and calling me racist, lol. That is privilege through and through. I elevated the situation to King Kullen management. I received a very nice email from Robert, an executive at King Kullen, who let me know that the underage Ms. Lorenzo had been disciplined and was now being forced to wear the "fear mask" while working, as stipulated by New York State law. Well, Crazy Jeanine, if it wasn't for you being a total insane stalker weirdo, I would not have called King Kullen management to complain. And maybe the underaged Lorenzo girl would not have been humiliated by getting DISCIPLINED BY MANAGEMENT. But hey, covid-19 is a Liberal Hoax invented by Democrats to discredit T****, right? I would like to remind the Crazy Jeanie that there are 281,000 Americans dead from Covid-19 right now, so the whole "fearful" comment actually means not stupid and brainwashed by, well, you know who. It's a real thing, lady, and wearing a mask when in public is the law. Wear your masks and social distance, people. Only the stupid still think its a hoax. Extravagantly expensive and limited choice. Example, a jar of Mancuso Fried peppers at KK, $5.90. At Stop amd Shop, 2.99. They carry large bags of plain peanuts in the shell. The same company makes these peanuts salted in the shell. I've asked the produce manager several times if he could bring them in (they used to carry) but never did. I hate this store and pleased that they will eventually will have the windows and doors shuttered. read more

I live in Riverhead, but our local King Kullen closed, so now I travel to this store as well as Best Market in west Hampton. The 3 local Riverhead supermarkets are not up to my standard in quality produce. I judge a supermarket by their fresh fruits and vegetables. Can stuff is can stuff. I don't buy meat fish or poultry at a supermarket. I go to butcher, or fish shops for those items. They have a good bakery and deli department. I even get my flowers to brighten the home here. Good quality and great prices. The bakery will do special events cakes too. Try their Apple horn, very good. I always ask the person in charge of the Dept. About freshness, and they are helpful. Some people think prices are higher, but they do have sales, so overall, it balances out. read more

I have been shopping here since 2005 and always find the best meat and the best fresh produce here. They have great Deli items and the King Kullen Italian bread is the best in NY! I do want to add a shout out to the employees! Each and every one of them is ALWAYS smiling and polite. I have special appreciation for the butchers! At 65 years old, not many people can tell me a thing or two about cooking, meat, food prep but the butchers at King Kullen not only deliver the best cuts but actually come out from behind glass rooms to discuss the various cuts of meat with me! The lady butcher even taught me something I never knew about pot roast! I am impressed! Thank you King Kullen for being here! read more

I feel the staff values me as a customer and I like that. I get a nice small hometown grocery store vibe here as they seem to have a loyal local following. I find the prices are reasonable and the quality and selection is excellent. The weekly specials really draw me in. The shelves are well stocked and the store is neat and clean inside and outside. The produce looks fresh and inviting. The bakery display could rival any fine bakery with its high quality cakes and pastries, yet is value priced. The deli dep't is usually busy and the display looks appetizing. The young man in charge of keeping the bottle room clean and clearing the carts from the parking lot works hard and does an excellent job. Even though I drive from a different town to shop here, I like to support a local business like the Wading River King Kullen that provides jobs for local residents and seems to value their employees and their customers.
